The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 375

375 “I will wear one for you...,”

“I will wear one for you...,” said Yi Chen pausing for effect while his gaze lingered on Zi Han’s bare chest, “if you promise to see me.”

Zi Han who was already in a muddled state didn’t even think about what he was agreeing to as he nodded his head.

“But... you have to take, take a picture first and then I will come to see you in person.”

Yi Chen suppressed a smile while leaning forward before asking, “Are you sure you can’t come to stay with me? I will hide you well.”

He thought given how drunk Zi Han was he would get a positive answer but Zi Han was still so resolute.

He shook his head while saying, “Uh-uh. I can’t. You have a whole lot of responsibilities. I don’t want you to lose your job as the future Marshal. I am a part of the Bloodgarde now. I just can’t leave.”

Yi Chen pursed his lips feeling really down. He wanted to be the Marshal already. It was only then that he would be able to bring Zi Han home and he wouldn’t care what anyone said.

“Do you get it? Do you like this one? I think this one also looks good and this one,” said Zi Han putting all of them on his wishlist.

Yi Chen cupped his chin while watching Zi Han with a radiant smile. He could watch this person all day and he wouldn’t feel like he had wasted time at all.

.....

“Why are you so cute?” asked Yi Chen and Zi Han giggled before saying,

“No, I am not. Cute is for puppies,” said Zi Han and Yi Chen chuckled while pointing at the red wings,

“I like the red ones.”

Zi Han laughed while saying, “No silly. Angel wings aren’t red. They are green.”

Yi Chen, “...”

“No they are not,” said Yi Chen and Zi Han laughed out loud like he had heard something funny.

“I was just messing with you. How about the grey ones? I think they suit your skin tone,” said Zi Han and Yi Chen was a little confused.

“Skin tone? What are you talking about?” he had no idea what he was on about but he loved hearing him explain things.

“It’s just like something about your skin that tells you what colours that best suit you. Have u ever wondered why you always look dashing in your uniform and others look horrendous in it? It’s because well, firstly you are very handsome and two that’s your colour.”

“Okay, then grey it is. Should I be holding anything when I take the picture?” asked Yi Chen and Zi Han turned to look at him through the floating screen.

“No, just your naked glory is enough,” said Zi Han. The two of them locked gazes for a while each with their own thoughts.

Zi Han was imagining how Yi Chen would look with those large wings flattering with the wind in his naked glory while Yi Chen was wishing he could touch Zi Han. He wanted to embrace him or at least feel the sensation of Zi Han hugging him. Since they couldn’t see each other he could only settle for the next best thing.

“Baby are you sober enough to go on the virtual net?” he asked with great anticipation but Zi Han shook his head.

“If I go on the virtual net with my identity people might see us so no I can’t put you at risk like that...,” he said and Yi Chen felt very sad hearing this. Zi Han was right. They couldn’t do this because each virtual account was attached to that person’s identity.

He was starting to feel downcast when Zi Han said, “I will ask Lynn Feng to get me one. I probably won’t look like me though in the virtual net.”

Yi Chen could care less right now. Zi Han could be a cat in the virtual net and he would still cuddle him.

“Done... you will get it tomorrow. I sent it to the headquarters,” said Zi Han as the order was processed.

Yi Chen’s brow arched as he asked, “Why didn’t you just send it home?”

“Oops, I forgot. We always send our packages to the headquarters. It’s because they deliver faster,” explained Zi Han as he lay on his side.

“It’s fine. That’s no problem,” replied Yi Chen but he was still feeling a little sad knowing he couldn’t touch Zi Han.

Zi Han lay with the side of his head resting on his arms as he said, “You know, today I killed a bad person.”

Yi Chen wanted to stop him as he was confessing to a crime to him but it was already too late. Zi Han kept talking. “... He is a very bad person. I meant he was a very bad person now that he is dead. He hurt twenty something people and counting. More like the reported cases anyway. Mum said I did a very good job. I mean that guy was a scumbag....” Zi Han’s voice got lower and lower until it was faint. Yi Chen had heard about a missing person by the surname Croft being broadcasted all over StarNet and somewhat connected the pieces.

He cast this thought aside and lay down watching Zi Han fall asleep. He looked so peaceful his eyes underneath the lids flickering a little. Yi Chen could watch him all night and that’s what he planned to do.

His fingers reached for the floating screen to touch Zi Han’s face but his fingers passed right through.

“Good night... Han Han,” whispered Yi Chen as he pressed his index and middle finger on his lips before placing it on Zi Han’s. Of course, his fingers passed right through but it made his heart feel at ease.

This beautiful atmosphere was something out of a romantic movie with pink bubbles hovering around them. Well, that was until Ming Ming entered the room.

“You missed the rest of the movie, dage,” she said sulkily while Yi Youxi followed behind still upset about the chocolate he never got.

“You are just like dad. You can’t keep your promises. I have a belly without chocolate and I am very upset,” said Yi Youxi but he still joined them on the bed.

Yi Chen ended the call abruptly while asking, “Then how about you tell me all about it? How did it end? Did they get the bad guy?”

The two people were instantly distracted and began telling it all.

Yi Youxi, “The guy went down the tunnels.”

Ming Ming, “And then, and then boom. An explosive bigger than the sky happened.”

Yi Youxi, “The entire street was filled with purple goop.”

Ming Ming, “That snob got goop all over them. It was so exciting.”

Yi Chen, ???
