Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Darkseid War X



[3rd POV]

Without giving the New God a second to reply, she slashed at him again, this time across his -chest.

Slash after slash had struck the New God, as she upped her speed more and more, to speeds beyond sound. As the New God struggled to dodge any of them, as his own speed slowly began to fail him. Their battle continued to ravage the surroundings, as the New God attempted to fight back, only to fail at every turn.

His frustration became clear on his face, as Gwen continued to get the upper hand on the man.

"What, is the big bad New God getting angry that he can't defeat a little human?" Gwen snarked, as she launched the man back with a dropkick to the chest, causing him to stumble as she slammed through several walls.

A beam of energy flew from his hands against where Gwen once stood, only for it to fail as she reappeared in front of him, her claws extended as they stabbed him in the shoulder, only barely missing his heart as he dodged at the last moment. A grunt escaping his lips as he kicked Gwen in the stomach, launching her back slightly.

"Hah, how many times have you hit me now? Oh wait! That was the first! Good job, maybe they'll give you Villain of the Year award in hell?" Gwen smirked, as the man snarled. If there was one thing Gwen was good at, it was getting on peoples nerves, and that was exactly what was happening to the God in front of her.

"Silence annoying worm!" Darkseid boomed.

""Silence annoying worm" Honestly, you are awful at this. I mean really, that's all you got to say?" Gwen replied mocking Darkseid as he was thrown through yet another wall. Gwen continuing to beat the New God before he could even properly respond to her attacks.

After nearly 15 more minutes of back and forth, primarily Gwen pummeling into the man, attempting to actually kill him (and failing, turns out New Gods were a lot more resilient than she was expecting), she had gotten several notifications as it seemed her legion had been working in overtime in hopes of rejoining with her to fight off Darkseid.

That, and she imagined the League was fighting them off as fast as possible, so they'd be able to help her. As at the moment, they couldn't abandon the civilians, and could only hope she could fight the New God off. The legion was also seemingly focusing more on saving people than anything, rapidly and massively increasing their speeds.

Step 4-75,000 Aliens Defeated = 30 UL Tickets.

'Huh, I'd use those if I had the chance, but this ugly mug is taking way to long to die' Gwen thought, as she noticed the New God's bleeding form continuing to fight back against her. He was coated in his own blood as he was continuously pummeled into the Earth by Gwen.

"Dude, just give up! I've got people to save, things to do, Girlfriends to make sure aren't pissed at me, and I'd also like a good burger right now" Gwen said with a sigh, as she dodged another burst of Omega Beams while making sure to remember that she had 590 UL tickets at the moment, aka 59 NL tickets.

"Darkseid will not fall!" Darkseid roared, as his fist slammed into the Earth right where Gwen was standing a second before.

"I know, I know! You've said this like 30 times you annoying bastard! I know you're a New God, but my god you're taking way too long to die!" Gwen replied with an annoyed yell, landing a kick straight to his face, causing him to stumble with an annoyed growl.

Without giving the man another second, she launched another kick to his face, but this time, adamantium was sticking out from her foot, courtesy of x-23. The New God roared in pain as his eyes were slashed cleanly across, cutting them.

Another slash was sent to his throat with her claws, causing him to gurgle blood, trying to heal the wound as fast as possible. Without giving the man another second, she slammed her claws through his skull, and...

*BOOM* *BOOOM* *BOOOOOOOM*

Explosions rippled through his skull, as the New God of Apokolips fell to the floor with a rather...not existing skull.

"Fucking finally" Gwen muttered with a sigh, as she stepped back.

Defeat the Evil

Details - Defeat the perpetrator of the invasion...defeat...Darkseid.

Looking at his downed form, Gwen let out a sigh before blinking as she felt others

approaching.

"G-Gwen? Did, did you do this?" Superman said as he floated towards her, alongside him was the other heavy hitters of the League.

Looking the Man of Steel in his eyes, she nodded "I did, but he deserved it. Had I not done this, he would come back, Clark. Over, and over, and over again, until he got what he wanted"

Gwen replied.

"You killed him!" Captain Atom yelled.

"He was going to enslave the entire universe! Are you really so idiotic that you're going to get mad at me for ki-" Gwen stopped, as her entire body froze, her eyes shot wide as her senses flared, but those senses had failed her for the first time, as she was thrown through several buildings, a groan escaping her lips.

Getting to her feet, Gwen gazed at the one...the thing that had attacked her, something that she couldn't even dodge and barely even sense.

Her eyes hardened as she flicked her wrist, the League was teleported away from the location within an instant, for this was not a fight they could take part in.

Staring down the being, Gwen breathed out as she read the notification in front of her.

[Emergency Quest!]

He who embodies Evil

Details - The one who embodies all the evil throughout the multiverse, has seen you. He has seen your accomplishments, and he...sees your potential, your potential for stopping him and weakening him. And for that, he has sent one of his many avatars/fragments a tiny (less than 1% of 1% of 1% on and on) of his power. Enough to hopefully crush the worm that dares stand against him.

Task - Defeat the Darkseid of the Young Justice universe, the one strengthened by True Form Darkseid, that who embodies all Evil, and is the Multiversal personification of all evil, and that who it originates from.

evolution 50% easier.

"Nothing can ever be easy, can it?" Gwen muttered as she stared down the glowing form of Darkseid, now regenerated, and exuding much more power than before. More power than

anything Gwen had run into yet.

"Not so arrogant now, are you, worm?" Darkseid said, a cruel grin forming on his face as Omega Beams glowed in his eyes, before blurring towards Gwen at speeds far beyond what

she has ran into so far.

Dodging them, Gwen frowned.

'System, can I undergo the system evolution while fighting him?' Gwen inwardly asked, trying her best to dodge the Omega Beams, one of the few things that could potentially kill her. They were conceptual in nature, and she doubted they were something she'd be able to

survive.

[Affirmative, it can be accomplished within 10 minutes. However, it will be excruciatingly painful, even for the host, as it will directly strain the users soul]

'Then do it! And turn all those UL tickets into NL ones!' Gwen thought, as she was immediately assaulted by an influx of pain, more so than anything she had felt before. Thankfully she had more than enough will to survive such a thing.

[590 UL Tickets = 59 NL Tickets]

'Fuck the system wasn't kidding about it being painful' Gwen thought with a grunt, as her

senses flared for what felt like the 30th time in a minute, as Darkseid blurred to her, his fist slamming against where she once stood, as she just barely dodged it. The next strike came less than a second later, as Gwen put her arms up and blocked the attack, grunting slightly before her fist cocked back and slammed into his gut.

"Aw shit" Gwen muttered, as the God just grinned as her punch did...nothing.

*BOOM*

Gwen was promptly, launched through several buildings as she was punched by the God now

being boosted by a much much stronger version of himself, a form that he was but a fragment

of.

Her adaption was rapidly activating the more she was hit by the man, as she took more and more hits, and the God took less and less. As he was seemingly being funneled more and more power. Thankfully Gwen had infinite stamina, and practically limitless durability, or she'd

have died...quite quickly.

"Resistance is futile" Darkseid said, as Gwen just rolled her eyes, and launched a beam of destruction energy against the man, causing him to wave it off, taking no damage from it. 'Adamantium, the Power of Destruction, Magic, nothing is working against this annoying bastard. And even though I'm a-adapting to his strikes, he's also growing in power rapidly. At this rate this'll just go on infinitely!' Gwen thought as she teleported away from a strike, finding that teleportation was working more than dodging at this point, even if it got rid of her chances of hitting the God back.

After an entire 10 minutes of struggling against the New God, which mostly was Gwen getting her ass beat, even with her martial arts, pure speed and being forced to dodge Omega beams at the same time was making it difficult to do anything back. Not to mention the man using telekinesis and all sorts of beams of energy to make it even harder on her.

But after 10 minutes, she finally got the long-awaited notification.

[System evolution completed!]

[NL System now awakened. The user can now combine 10 NL tickets into 1 TL Ticket. TL Tickets are Tectonic level, Island Level to Multi-Continental Level. Assimilations are now much quicker, as the user's soul has now been strengthened to the point that they can be completed in less than a minute! You also have several missed notifications!]

'Turn them all into NL Tickets and then turn 100 NL tickets into TL!' Gwen inwardly yelled, as

she grunted as Omega Beams slammed against her right arm, obliterating the skin around her adamantium bones, only for it to instantly regenerate back, stronger than before.

'Claim the TL Tickets now!' Gwen thought, dodging another burst of Omega Beams, albeit

barely. 'Assimilate them' Gwen thought hurriedly, not even bothering to read what she got, as she was far more focused on not dying to a growingly powerful God.

As she dodged, she let out a soft gasp as a new and...unique power flooded her being. Knowledge swirled in her mind, knowledge of an individual that would be...perfect for her situation, for words flooded her mind, words that would change the battle in her favor. Her assimilation lasted nearly thirty seconds, before she closed her eyes, and breathed out, as

she began to speak some new...and powerful words. Words from a world of servants and Gods,

a world of...Fate.

And yet these words were different.

"I...am the bone of my sword"

Gwen's voice softly rumbled, as a sword manifested in her hand, deflecting Darkseid's punch,

as she continued.

"Steel is my Body and Fire is my Blood"

Darkseid snarled as he failed to attack her for the first time since his boost, as he attempted to

strike again, only for her to disappear, continuing the words not of this world.

"Beloved by Death, Nor hated by Life"

"Have withstood infinite pain, within infinite lives"

"And yet, I have no regrets, for there is only one path"

Darkseid snarled as Omega Beams flew from his eyes, as the world around them began to

warp, reality changing to the words Gwen was uttering.

"Reality Expansion... Infinite Blade Shrine"

And then everything...changed.

"Neat, isn't it?" Gwen's voice echoed, as Darkseid's head snapped to her location.

"This is my...Reality Expansion? Not entirely sure what to call it to be honest. But it's sort of a reflection of...me I guess? Not sure to be honest, I've been so many people that I guess it's a

reflection of all the me's" Gwen said with a chuckle, as she looked around the large space, swords exuding immense power filling the space, within the skies above was a seemingly

infinitely large web, a spiders web, flashing through the web was faces, all the faces of Gwen. [This but with what I described]

"Each of those swords is a life I've lived, or a sword I have gazed upon in my lives, hell, I'm pretty sure some of these are representations of people I was close to in certain lives. Like this one! This is a representation of Susan Storm, aka Invisible Woman, she was kinda a wife of mine in one life, Pretty cool, right?" Gwen said, as she blurred, dodging a burst of Omega

Beams.

"That was rude, you should know better than to attack someone when they're speaking"

Gwen said with a chuckle from behind Darkseid who snarled and attempted again, only to fail. "Some of these are way too strong for the current me, so I imagine they'll drain me of all my energy. But...I think there's only one blade that'll be right for killing a God like you" Gwen

said with a smile, as shadows began to converge around her, power shaking the space around

her.

"Come...All Black" Gwen muttered, as she breathed out, as a blade formed in her hands, a blade that was only there due to her symbiotes gazing upon it once. A blade that the mere summoning of would drain all her energy, and might even knock her unconscious, a first for

Gwen, a first in a while at least.

"Your creator sure did have taste" Gwen said with a chuckle, as she felt the power it gave her,

and the desires it attempted to force upon her, only for her willpower to stomp it down.

Looking up, she smiled at Darkseid who's eyes were glowing. "Goodbye Darkseid. Oh, and True Form, or whatever it is you're called. I promise you...I will kill you" Gwen said before disappearing and reappearing in front of Darkseid. "Hmm, let's make a new move for this, shall we? A certain Caped Baldy will love this one"

Gwen said with a grin, as she swung the blade back, as it glowed a bloody red. "Spidergwen Original: Darkseid Slaying Slash" Gwen uttered with a wide grin, as she imbued the sword with all the power she could, and slashed down.

The reality around her quivered as the blade created to kill Celestials, cleaved directly through

the God of Tyranny, and the one strengthened by his true self. The earth below the slash was cut cleanly in half, as did the clouds above.

"I-I will be waiting..." His voice...no, it's voice muttered, as the reality around her crumbled.

Looking at Darkseid, Gwen just watched with no emotion as his body slid in half, crumbling to the floor, finally dead.

"Thanks for the help, All Black...I'll come to get you sooner or later" Gwen said softly, as the blade glowed and seemingly shattered into nothing. The second it did, Gwen stumbled slightly with a grunt, as she felt weaker than ever before.

"Well...that sucked" Gwen said with a chuckle, as she slowly stumbled towards the deceased

Gods body.

"Gwen?!" A voice echoed behind her, causing Gwen to turn in slight surprise at the sight of her dad standing there, alongside the team.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"Gwen are you okay?!" M'gann, Artemis, and even Raven exclaimed.

"Not really? I'm like 30 seconds away from dropping unconscious, and I'd rather not leave

that body just laying there. So if you don't mind me, I'm just going to use this neat power

called "Absorption" and yoink the ugly bastards power for myself, any objections?" Gwen asked, before any of them could even reply, Gwen grinned.

"Perfect!" Gwen said, before moving forward as dark black and red tentacles surged from her being, and surrounded the body of Darkseid, and without giving them even a moment to stop her, Gwen absorbed the body into herself, and...immediately passed out, but not before reading two notifications, as the question marks were revealed, as was her TL characters.
