Chapter 120 120 Deathmatch?
Alex and Lynx sat down for more than 30 minutes before the last player arrived bringing the tally up to ten players inside the room.
Alex's eyes were closed for over ten minutes and during that time he had fallen asleep, with his arm resting on the chair, his body had obtained a delicate balance so he wouldn't fall.
Few of the players that came in spoke to anyone, the ranking hasn't been announced but they all knew Alex was at the top, if he requests a death match then all their lives were at stake.
They were afraid he would reveal the explosive agility he had during the second stage and clear all their lives in an instant but Lynx wasn't afraid, that was one of the many reasons he spoke to Alex and befriended him.
The blond man walked through one of the doors in the room and cleared his throat gaining all the players' attention.
"Congratulations to you guys, you are the final winners of this year's arena tournament," the man said with a smile.
"Everyone here wrote their information on a piece of paper during your application so I'll announce the ranking now"
All the players wrote their in-game in their application, and all sorts of names were accepted because most time well known warriors were identified with other names.
"I'll skip the first place cause you all know him, so I'll start from the second place," the man said.
"That's still good" Alex heard a voice as his eyes opened slightly, he heard noises all around and finally opened his eyes.
Most of the players were excited and Alex had no idea why, then he turned to Lynx who had a smile on his face.
"What happened?" Alex asked in a low voice.
"The rankings had been announced, and you are first place, I'm sure you already expected that but I came fourth, so at least I'll be getting a reasonable sum of money to further my journey in Nova Online" Lynx spoke.
"Then we can leave right?" Alex asked.
"You are awake" a voice spoke and Alex faced forward and saw the blond man in front of him.
"I'm awake, when can we get our rewards and leave?" Alex asked.
"You are forgetting something, you can still choose the death match option and kill everyone here and also take their rewards" the blond man spoke trying to persuade Alex.
All the players were now staring at Alex with heavy hearts as they waited for his reply, with the way he behaved in the second stage they were sure he would choose the death match option but just now he was trying to leave so they were conflicted.
"I'm okay with the reward, also I see no need in killing everyone here, so I have no use for a death match" Alex spoke and all the players let out heavy sighs.
"You see no need in killing everyone here, do you think you can kill everyone here," a player asked.
"When can we leave I need to get home quickly, my dad would be waiting for me" Alex spoke ignoring the player speaking to him.
"It's almost night time so you can get your coin reward now and tomorrow the top 3 contestants should return for their remaining reward" the blond man spoke and walked out of the room leaving the door open.
Alex immediately stood up and walked after the man with Lynx following him behind, all the players also joined them as they exited the room, the sorry led to a hallway lit up by crystals.
The players couldn't understand how this underground arena was built and with different passages and entrances.
The hallway led to the first tiny room that could barely contain 3 people, Alex and Lynx were the first to exit the room and soon they were standing in front of the counter.
The girl that stood behind the counter was staring at Alex with a slutty smile on her face, all the players were waiting for their rewards in front of the counter.
Behind the counter where the girl was, three chests appeared on the ground along with bags and pouches containing the coin reward of each player, this wasn't the first time so she already knew what to do.
"The reward is here so who won first place?" she asked looking at the players.
Alex walked towards the counter and stood in front of the girl, the girl had a proud smile on her face seeing that Alex was the top contestant in the tournament, she had no idea he was powerful when she saw him earlier.
"So you're both handsome and powerful" the girl spoke.
"I haven't forgotten about the orb" Alex said.
"Neither have I, but don't forget you'll have to give me something in return and I don't need money just in case you are thinking that," the girl said.
"Then what do you want?" Alex asked.
"My house is directly in front of this building, visit me after all this is over if you want the orb, for now here is your reward," the girl said as she handed him a fairly large chest.
Alex opened the chest and a smile formed on his face, the chest was filled with coins to the brim, and though he wasn't sure of the amount he knew it should be up to a million, Alex took the chest and excused himself.
As soon as he exited the building a notification came up from his system.

As soon as his information came up Alex couldn't help but smile, he was now at level 20 and he was sure he would be able to buy all the weapons or items he comes across, his beast Slayer title would soon be gone but his stats were still pleasing to his eyes.
He had placed the chest in his inventory and he could see that the coins he got were up to a million, Alex had tons of things he wanted to do and things he had to think about but now he was going to log out, he was sure all his family would be asleep and his dad would probably be at home asleep.
"Hey bro, thanks for not choosing the death match," Lynx said as he walked out.
"Yeah, I'm logging out, I'm sure it's already close to morning in the real world," Alex said.
"Yeah, it's 3:15 am in the real world, I'm still going to look around but you'll be here tomorrow right for your reward?"
"Sure, I'll tell my friends too to meet me here, but how'll I know it's morning here" Alex mumbled out loud.
"Touch the screen of the helmet, and the time would be revealed, the in-game time and the real-world time, you can use that to know when to log back in," Lynx said.
"Really, I've never touched the front screen," Alex said.
"I found out by mistake, so see you then" Lynx spoke as he walked away.
Alex was going to log out when he heard two familiar voices behind him, the two girls he promised to take with him were standing there waiting for him.
"I didn't forget about you too, I'll be back here by morning don't worry," Alex said.
"We know, take care," Lena said and Alex walked away.
He wasn't sure what would happen if he logged out in front of the girls, his body would disintegrate so he didn't want them to see, after walking a while Alex clicked on the log out icon in his system.
