Chapter 397: Inherited His Parasitic Genes
Chapter 397: Inherited His Parasitic Genes
"Mr. Yun!" she exclaimed the moment she picked the phone up. "You have gotten faster at catching news about yourself," she said jokingly.
There was an angry huff from the other side. "You don't even try to say it was someone else!" he said finally with disdain.
Qian Meng raised her brow as she thought about her response. "Would you believe me if I told you it wasn't me?" she questioned.
"No."
"Then I have no reason to defend myself against your accussations," she said frankly. "I have long learned not to waste my breath on you." She paused.
"You—" Qian Meng cut him off immediately.
"Is there anything important that you need to tell me? If not, then please cut the phone." She didn't dilly-dally around the topic.
"Stop. Don't disrespect me," he growled.
Qian Meng sighed and waited for him to continue.
"Where did you get the information from? The things in the news article?" he asked.
She rolled her eyes. "As I said, I didn't know about the article until it came out. I can't tell you information that I don't have," she stated boldly. "But if you are going on a witch hunt, why don't you use your paranoid mind to cook up a story that best fits your interest, Mr. Yun?" she asked calmly.
"Li Wenyue? Or did you stoop low enough to get the information from the little brother who thinks the world of you?" Yun Sui Bo bit back without regard.
Qian Meng clenched her jaw before chuckling without amusement. "As I said, choose your story. I don't care to explain." And then her heart twisted with the need to get revenge. "Actually, if I did use Qing Yuan, I would have to say that I don't need a DNA test to prove that I am your daughter," she replied.
"What do you mean?" he was gruff.
"From the looks of it, you use your blood-related family to save your face. I must have inherited the parasitic genes," she mussed.
"You little—"
"Okay, I am not in a mood for bullshit. I need to sleep tonight," she said quickly before hanging up.
She looked up from her cellphone and saw Qingchen come out of the closet, his mouth open with shock.
"What?" she asked innocently.
"Did you just say that?" he was in disbelief. She shrugged, not thinking much of it. "I am proud of you, baby. You have finally grown up," he complimented.
She winked at him salaciously before curving her finger and beckoning him.
He chuckled even though his eyes darkened. He eyed her like prey for a good minute before he pounced.
She shrieked in surprise as he landed, caging her between her arms and kissing her silly.

The financial news section the next morning was full of talks about the controversy surrounding Yun Corporation. It was an hour before the stock market opened and Qian Meng was already glued to her laptop, tracking everything in sight.
She went to her brokerage account and placed orders for shares of Yun Corporation. Was it a low-handed method? Sure. But she needed the stocks to stand up against her father.
At least, she was buying the stock under her own name.
Her eyes glittered as she checked her phone for news.
"Ready for the battle?" Mo Qingchen asked as he handed her the coffee.
"Absolutely," she responded with a grin. "I am meeting Mr. Li for lunch today. It depends on the response from the public on how fast this plan will pan out," Qian Meng informed as she twirled her straw.
Qingchen nodded. "Let me know if you need spare cash to buy up more," he chimed in. He put the volume of the news higher and they watched it, sitting side by side and having their breakfast.
While Yun Corporation was being bashed and going up in flames, the couple peacefully watched.
Qian Meng kissed Qingchen on the cheek once she finished breakfast and skipped away. "I will have a long day today. My phone will be constantly ringing, so don't expect me to respond!" she told him over her shoulder. She placed the dishes in the sink and then washed her hand.
"I will just talk to the bodyguard directly. You can call me any time. I have a meeting from three in the afternoon. Otherwise, it's all okay," Mo Qingchen told her confidently.
Qian Meng hummed and nodded. "Finish your meal slowly."
Her phone buzzed and she looked at the illuminated screen. "The bodyguard has taken the car out already. I'll go now."
She skipped back to his side and tucked a finger under his chin to turn his head towards her.
His eyes were unfocused as she looked away from the news and then it glittered as he saw her lean in for a kiss.
The quick morning kiss she had been expecting turned into something sensual.
He brought his hand to her ass and kneaded it gently before patting it affectionately. "No more," he said, after pulling away. "Get going."
She stared at his lips for a beat too long before looking away. "The formula for Venus lipsticks is stellar. It never ceases to amaze me…? Not a smudge in sight." She stood up straight and gave her husband a cheeky smile.
She had a swing to her hips as she walked out of his sight.
He could only chuckle.
He pulled his cellphone out and texted the bodyguard.
[Keep me updated on Mrs. Mo's day. Don't leave any information out. Stay alert.]
He pressed send and then went back to finishing what remained of his breakfast.

The bodyguard waited outside patiently until he saw Qian Meng appear at the front door of the house. He straightened up and gave a small bow.
"Ma'am," he greeted. "Please sit in the back," he said calmly.
She sauntered near and watched the other open the door. She slid in with a quick thank you and shifted to the opposite side to the driver's seat. It was all about protocol.
