Almighty Summoner System

A deafening sound echoed as the head of the snake hit Eva's arms squarely. 

It was strange that the snake did not open its mouth to attack them but Ban already knew from the start that it wouldn't happen. 

One of the snake's weaknesses was its inability to open its mouth while attacking. The Shiny Headed Rattlesnake dislikes sand entering its mouth, it only opens it when eating and it would even make sure that there was no longer any sand left on the food it's going to eat. 

In truth, the reason it's head became shiny was actually also due to its dislike to sands entering the gap between its snake while burrowing in the sands, searching for prey. With the shiny head, it would already be able to repel almost all sands in its path smoothly. 

That's the reason why Ban was confident about not getting eaten while they were trying to defend themselves. 

Eva's slim arms immediately trembled the moment the rattlesnake's head landed on her arm. Her wings fluttered rapidly to resist the force while Ban was just behind her pushing her upwards as a support. 

Fortunately, Ban casted two 'Reinforce' immediately causing Eva's defense to immediately soar. Eva's Wrath state also helped her in resisting the assault and if any of the two was not present, then things might have gone out of hand.

The attack was so powerful that even Ban who only received the weakened version of the attack still felt the pain that coursed through Eva's body with the active Perfect Harmony state. 

Fortunately, the two of them share the pain or else, it would not really feel the same. 

A contest of strength was shown as the rattlesnake tried its best to pin them down. 

However, Eva and Ban resisted to the end and even though his feet had already sunk under the sand by more than a foot, Ban and Eva still did not want to give up. 

And after a few seconds, their hard work paid off as the rattlesnake finally retreated. 

The Shiny Headed Rattlesnake has the same size as an adult human's body. It was brownish gold in color and its body had some patterns printed on its back. The proportion of its head was larger compared to its body, almost like it was an inflated balloon. It's really a wonder how they could still dig on the sand swiftly with that kind of inflated head. 

The rattlesnake retreated a good four meters away from them as it immediately coiled its body like a spring. It then brought up its tail and placed it at the center of its coiled form. 

The rattle that was fixated on the end of its tail started to do its thing the moment it was placed on that area. 

A low humming sound of something being wiggled reached Ban and Eva's ears. 

It was one of the Beasts Skill, the 'Silent Hypnosis'. It was a skill that can be casted around it to make its prey lower the guard.

Eva and Ban had already fallen to this kind of trick earlier. Fortunately, they managed to react in time or not, they would surely be in danger. 

Currently, the rattlesnake was shaking its rattle again. Ban and Eva were already prepared for this from the beginning as they knew that it would try to hypnotize them to let them not resist it. 

However, only a fool would let a Beast kill them if they clearly have a way to get rid of it. 

The moment the rattlesnake withdrew, Ban asn Eva immediately took a breather. Ban instantly took his foot out of the sands while Eva floated ahead of him to prepare for the counterattack. 

The snake had another obvious weakness other than not opening its mouth while in a fight. 

It cannot move while it's using the skill, Silent Hypnosis. This would be their only opportunity to counter attack. What Ban did not expect was that it immediately used the Skill again after seeing that it could kill them peacefully. 

The moment the rattlesnake did that, Ban knew that killing it had become a lot easier. 

He retrieved the twin baton from his waist and pressed the button to transform it into a whip again. 

Ban just recently discovered that the two whips can actually be combined into one, making it longer and more flexible in the process, almost like it was a rope. 

The whip became longer in his hands, he did  it waste any time as he and Eva immediately ran towards the Shiny Headed Rattlesnake to attack it while it was still performing the Silent Hypnosis.

Eva flapped her wings hardly, immediately arriving near the snake almost in an instant. The snake was taken aback by the spee exhibited by her but it nevertheless ignored it a moment later as it focuses on trying to hypnotize them.

Unfortunately for it, Ban and Eva's senses had already been strengthened due to them being at the Perfect Harmony state. Even if one of them gets hypnotized again, the other one could just wake the other up easily. 

Eva did not waste the opportunity and immediately used her skill, 'Bite'. With her in the Wrath state, the Bite Skill was stronger than usual. It immediately tore off a portion of the rattlesnake's skin. A circular wound was seen the moment Eva finished using the Skill. 

After that, she threw the piece of meat away as she immediately proceeded to strike it with the Skill, Fluid Release. She did not do it before as she knew that the Fluid Release would only slide off its skin due to how shiny and smooth it was. 

However, with a piece of its skin getting ripped off, it became easier for Eva to damage it with the Fluid Release. 

She aimed the Fluid Release on that grievous wound and the moment the fluids came into contact with its wound, the Shiny Headed Rattlesnake could no longer take it. It finally opened its mouth widely as it released a terrible and painful hiss that even managed to reach Delo and Belle inside the Barrier created by the Barrier Turtle.

Seeing its wide-open mouth, Ban immediately smiled as he played with the whip, "Gotcha!"
