Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.505 Rank-Up Experiments

CH.505 Rank-Up Experiments

I know the chapter title, okay. But before I can get to that, I have a few things I need to do.

The first being a mysterious gift box that was left on my bedside table. Apparently someone wanted to give me a late birthday gift.

I opened the box and found a device that looked like a Zexal Duel Gazer. Or a DBZ scouter, if you prefer that. But I’ll call it a Duel Gazer.

There were no instructions in the box, so I decided I should just test it out. No way it is dangerous, considering how it looks.

So I quickly set it over my left eye and pressed what I assumed was the on button. Because it was the only button on the thing.

It quickly activated and the small screen then showed me something I wasn’t exactly expecting to see, the inside of my Factory.

There, a bunch of my monsters were lined up, reminding me of the time they had all lined up to me the day after I got the Different Dimension Factory skill.

They all then wished me a belated birthday, before a few of them began explaining their gift.

My Duel Gazer not only allowed me to see into the Factory, and it would even help adjust for the regular time dilation between the Factory and the real world, so it wasn’t as bad as when it is done with System Supports, but it also allowed me to do so many other things.

I could look at any and all security cameras that I’d usually look at with Dungeon Founder, I could access the entire Factory library, I could talk to individual monsters.

I could even do things like check what cards I have set on myself or others, in case I forget. And the D-Gazer could even sense when set cards have been activated.

And that wasn’t even all my monsters planned to add to the device, it was just all they had time to add. So it was a really nice gift.

Next on the menu, I have a few new Synchroes to summon.

I have 12 I haven’t summoned, so let’s summon them.

Ally of Justice Field Marshal; Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier; Drill Warrior; Fabled Valkyrus; Geo Genex; Jurrac Giganoto; Mist Valley Thunder Lord; Naturia Beast; Naturia Leodrake; Thermal Genex; Windmill Genex; XX-Saber Hyunlei.

That brought my total up to 73, so I can claim two rewards, and then after I summon those two rewards, I’ll get to 75 and get one more reward.

At 65, I got Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo and Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei.

Then for 70, I got Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon and Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice. Clear Wing was the very first reward I got for the Synchro challenge, so it is interesting that it took to 70 to get Crystal Wing.

Then, for 75, I got something amazing. At least in my opinion.

I got the Blue-Eyes Spirit Ultimate Dragon. I didn’t even know they printed something like this. It also came with two tuner monsters, Maiden with Eyes of Blue and Maiden of White.

Next Reward: Deep Sea Prima Donna + Deep Sea Artisan
Spoiler
[collapse]

And my next reward is more Deep Sea stuff. Interestingly Artisan is a non-Tuner, despite Prima Donna being generic. I guess my challenge is just doing what it wants now.

Well, the Deep Sea monsters aren’t bad, and Artisan sounds like she could be helpful, so I don’t really care.

Now, let’s talk about Xyz monsters and Rank-Up-Magics.

So first of all, thanks to Number 39: Utopia Double’s effect, I’ve acquired a few other Utopia monsters.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Currently, I’ve gotten the regular Utopia, S39: Utopia the Lightning, S39: Utopia Prime and  C39: Utopia Ray.

Spoiler
[collapse]

For those that don’t know, or need a reminder on how this works, I activate Utopia Double’s effect. It gives me a copy of Double or Nothing!, and then summons one random Utopia monster on top of my Utopia Double, with its attack doubled.

Spoiler

[collapse]

Since the monster summoned this way doesn’t have a sleeve or a toploader, it would normally disappear after the summoning time runs out. But I use Compulsory Evacuation Device, or some other ‘return to hand’ card, to return the random Utopia into my Collection.

And from there, the new Utopia acts like any other card, so I can put a sleeve and a toploader on it.

So yeah. And because of that, Xyz challenge is now at 10/10, so next reward.

Summon unique Xyz Monsters
Unique Xyz Monsters summoned: 10
Crimson Knight Vampire Bram; Dhampir Vampire Sheridan; The Zombie Vampire; Number 24: Dragulas the Vampiric Dragon; Number 71: Rebarian Shark; Number 39: Utopia Double; Number 39: Utopia; Number S39: Utopia the Lightning; Number S39: Utopia Prime; Number C39: Utopia Ray
Next Reward is given at 10 unique Xyz Monsters
Next Reward: Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon + Xyz Unit
[Claim Reward]

Like with the first reward, I got a monster and a spell.

I expected to get Dark Rebellion at some point, since I did get Clear Wing very early on into the Synchro challenge. Xyz Unit is also a great equip spell for Xyz monsters, so it’s nice to have it.

Now, onto some Rank-Up experiments I ran.

So, with Rebarian Shark, I’ve been acquiring more Rank-Up-Magics.

I now, on top of the Limited Barian’s Force that I got first, have Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force, Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force, Rank-Up-Magic Skip Force and Rank-Up-Magic Cipher Ascension.

Spoiler
[collapse]

Sadly I can’t use two of those, as they require specific targets, but I got the two good generic ones, so I was able to experiment with them.

First of all, depending on if I use Barian’s Force or Numeron Force, the monster I rank up evolves differently.

I tested this a lot on HomeBase monsters, which I then executed after the fact, as to not leave more powerful monsters in the dungeon.

For example, if I rank up a B-rank wind griffin with Barian’s Force, it evolves into an A-rank dark-wind griffin. But with Numeron Force, the same B-rank wind griffin will evolve into a radiant-wind griffin.

Not really a huge difference, but still interesting to note. Numeron Force tends to evolve things into Light attribute monsters, while Barian’s Force favors the dark.

It isn’t a 100% guarantee, but it is a base they work with. I wonder if other Rank-Ups have similar limits? I know there is at least Astral Force, and then the archetype specific ones.

I need to ask Alice to remove the archetype restrictions of Skip Force and Cipher Ascension. Then I can test how they react.

And yes, Alice can do that. Erasure Magic can do some crazy things.

Skip Force was basic. It took the most … should I call it direct or natural path? Maybe direct.

It is just … a treant evolves into a larger treant, no attribute changes, multi-attributes or anything. Same goes for everything else. It just gets bigger and stronger. And like the name suggests, Skip Force does skip one evolutionary step.

Cipher Ascension on the other hand picked the most powerful evolution available. I think it is because of Cipher Ascension’s secondary effect of giving the +500 attack boost to your monster.

So yeah. Rank-Up-Magics are really interesting. The variety really allows me to grow monsters the way I want. I just need to set up a Factory room for Rank-Up research, so I’ll know what to expect, before I permanently evolve one of our tamed monsters, or summonable monsters, into something we don’t want.

Now, to end the day, I’ll open some packs. to be specific.

It is the next set on my list to get fully completed, but I want to open some singles before I get to the speedrun openings. So today I’ll do 20 packs.

[collapse]

Finally. Something new. And oh boy is it a good one.

Wiraqocha Rasca is considered one of the worst Earthbound Immortals, but lucky me, mine carries its anime effect. The effect where if it doesn’t attack, it can lower my opponent's life points, or in this case HP, to 1. And I don’t think I need to tell you how powerful that effect is.

But despite how amazing Wiraqocha Rasca is, it is kind of sad I only got one higher rarity card from the first ten packs. Let’s hope the next ten are a bit better.

Preparation of Rites is new. And I guess it is okay. I can get Rituals with it, but sadly I have to target a specific Ritual monster, so it has to be from a set I already have access to.

Well, clearly today isn’t my day, so I’ll just call it good here. I’ll complete Stardust Overdrive some other time.
