Out for one more week.
Out for one more week.
Hi Everyone,
TL;DR: My kid stayed home this week so I didn't get my normal editing time. I have no chapter to give you. I'm sorry. I should have one next week though.
Thank you all so much for being patient with me! You're the best readers on Royal Road! I talk to other authors so I know! ;)
I thought I would only be out for one week, because I caught a nasty cold. But then my kid caught my cold (usually it's the other way around). Since i took only a little over a week to get better, I thought my kid would be the same but after a week he had the nastiest cough you've ever heard from a 5 year old. It wakes him up several times each night and us along with it (we are all exhausted over here). I've already talked to a doctor about it. There is not much we can do except wait for him to get better on his own and give him some allergy medicine in hopes that it helps (it certainly helped me get over mine). And hope it doesn't last another week. Because I am utterly drained.
It would be one thing if he was a good patient that stayed in bed and slept all day. I could get some writing and editing done then. But this kid is running around while coughing his ass off. And getting into everything. I have had no time to edit because I have to constantly watch him. He hasn't gone to school either much. He keeps telling me that he doesn't feel well enough to go. It's hard to say no to that little face while he coughs so badly. I'm also worried about the other kids catching it or him getting exposed to other stuff that could make this worse. So, we're just focusing on his health and wellbeing right now. If he's not improving by next week I'm supposed to take him in. Let's I hope it doesn't come to that.
This is all reminding me of when I graduated college and spent a year without health insurance. Somehow I managed to get bronchitis (which I didn't know at the time). I was terribly sick with a cough for over a month (and working the whole time) before I broke down and went into a minute clinic to get antibiotics for it. I eventually got better (minute clinics are a blessing to those without insurance), but that was when I was much younger and healthier (arguably dumber). I can't do that anymore. Now, I hope my kid doesn't develop bronchitis because I've had it, and it sucks. Poor guy.
Anyways. I'll be back next week with a chapter. Thank you all for your patience! (And let's hope this is long enough to be consider a chapter by RR standards)
