As the sun was setting, Barry Burton was returning home. His clothes were stained with dirt and blood.

' Rick and his bastards! I will fucking kill them one day.'

Being a student in his sophomore year at Evergreen Academy, Barry Burton was one of the bottom of the barrel. Be it academics, sports, wealth, or connections, he got nothing at all.

Walking down his path, he raised his head and looked at the giant gate before him.

' Haah, Don't they give a special admission quota? I wonder what it is.' Barry Burton wiped his lips as he was crossing the road. But at that moment, a sports car swept past him.

*SPLASHH!*

" What the hell!?!"

The muddy water splashed on his clothes, making Barru drenched. Looking at the sports car, he couldn't help but curse.

However, with a moment's consideration, he turned around, not daring to look at them.

After all, he realized that he couldn't do anything if he wanted to. The sports car alone showed Barry his place.

" Damn, Jake, You are driving like crazy."

Barry clenched his fist as he increased his pace. His surroundings felt blurry to him, due to tears jerking in his eyes. As he returned to his home, he opened the letterbox and found two bills.

' Fuck, Even without anything, bills this month already reached 800$?'

" Mom! I am back."

Barry shouted as he tried to twist the door knob. However, he realized it was locked.

' She hasn't come back?'

Thinking for a moment, Barry squatted down and searched around for a bit. Not long after, he found a key.

Entering his house, looked around and found a paper.

' Sweetie, I am not coming back till tomorrow. I have left some money under the pillow. Get some pizza tonight, ok?'

" Well, I am lucky, I guess?" Barry shrugged. " Mom doesn't have to see me like this."

" Ugh, My ribs, It's fucking aching. I need to apply some antiseptic."

Alone in the house, with no lights turned on. In the utter darkness, Barry sat in his room half naked, wiping his wound with antiseptic fluid.

Looking outside of the window, He saw a car stopping outside his neighbor's yard. A girl stepped out from it, kissing the driver before walking into her house.

Fancy dress, brand new phone, designer bag, one could think she was a girl with money.

' Hmph, That bitch, Guess she got another sugar daddy.'

Barry's train of thought stopped as the wound inflamed a bit due to the antiseptic, making him wince in pain.

' Fuck, Only if I also had tons of money. That Stacy, I would be railing her all night.'

Barry couldn't help but be amused as he undressed his neighbor girl mentally.

She was his first crush. However, Barry learned his lesson when Stacy stepped on his roses and got into one of her rich friends.

And the next dawn, Barry peeked out from his window and saw Stacy coming out happily out of her friend's car, torn party cloth and wobbly legs…

' Only if I had money…Or I had powers like some of those vigilantes.'

Looking at the 30$ under his pillow, Barry felt his hunger was vanishing. He got up to chew some cookies and drink milk rather than spending the 30$.

Enduring the pain and half empty stomach, Barry went to sleep. Feeling a strange coolness on his chest. He picked up the pendant and looked at it.

Under the moonlight, it gave off a strange glimmer.

' Found it in Dad's old attic. It looks really cool. Thank god that bastard Rick didn't notice it.'

' Eh? Bloodstain? Looks like it got stained when I got beaten up.' Barry sighed as he curled up, trying to sleep.

' Thank god it's weekend. I don't need to go to school for the next two days.'

However, not long after he slept, Barry felt his surroundings rumbling.

' Ngh, Is it an earthquake or some shit?' Barry felt a wave of warm air as if he were standing under the summer sun. His body sweated and his eyelids twitched.

Suddenly, his eyes opened as he looked around horrified.

" Wh-What's this place? What's happening?"

" Charge! Charge forward!"

" Slay these infidels! Cleanse the land!"

" By god's will, rinse this land with these invader's blood!"

Swords clashed as the ground rumbled with the hooves of horses. Barry was horrified yet amazed as he looked at the scene.

" Is it…Is it some medieval war? Am I dreaming or something?"

Suddenly, Barry's eyes focused on a place, where corpses were piled as a mountain.

A ray of light flashed as seven enemy soldiers hacked by it instantly. Barry's eyes almost popped out as he saw a middle aged man walk out, stepping over the corpse.

Although he looked aged, his body was built like a tank. The dark iron armor with golden stripes shone with a majestic radiance. Yet the blood stains on it made it look even more ferocious.

And the sword he was holding in a single hand, Barry wondered if he could even lift it with both his hands.

" General Lorenius is here!"

" Kill the enemies!"

Looking at their attires, Barry felt like they were Templar Knights. And General Lorenius looked like the current general.

He could also see the faint golden aura around his sword, which could even cleave through the enemy's armor like butter.

The scene kept flickering as it showed the various parts of history, with the main protagonist as General Lorenius.

Fighting against enemy armies, slaying strange monsters, and protecting people, a devout follower of a faction of radiance, and the Duke of Reinher Family, Barry saw through his life.

All the scenes suddenly shattered like glass fragments as they swirled towards Barry, merging with him.

" To my distant predecessor, keep the spirit of a true knight within you. The legacy of the Reinher Family shall never be extinguished."

" Desu Vult!"

" ARRGHHH!"

Barry felt like a surge of flame shot in his body, making his veins shred into pieces. It was as if he was thrown into a cauldron of boiling water.

His mind became hazy as various shards of memories echoed in his mind, merging with his current memory.

" Calm your mind, rein your heartbeat, circulate your aura throughout your body."

" This is the Radiant Knight Breathing Method of the Reinher Family."

As the feeling subsided, Barry got up. Clenching his fist, he realized a strange surge of power through his body.

' This…This isn't real, is it? I…I the Knight's Inheritance of Reinher Family?'

' With this…I can increase my strength? I can attain superhuman power?'

' Evergreen Academy? Rick and his bastards? Stacy? Fuck them! I will surpass them all.'

' I will gain strength, I will earn money… I will do everything to get out of this mud hole.'

' Elysian High…I will go there!'

Thus, Barry Burton's training began. After all, getting into Elysian High is definitely not easy, is it?
