Chapter 109 31: Facing The Death Flagged Event...
Chapter 109 Chapter 31: Facing The Death Flagged Event...
Her words caused Lucifer to seize up and made him realise that some things couldn't be avoided or escaped and that as much as he wanted to call this the real world, the events from the game were still happening and that he was merely powerless to stop them.
I don't want her to die. Then I must fight with her, side by side, hand in hand!
"Where must the fight take place, and you and your knights won't take part, right?"
He really didn't want to fight that large group, so soon after fighting the diva, there was something different about them, and he knew it was due to the game never showing the events, only writing text and leaving it at that.
This event...
Gwendolyn MUST die.
At this moment, Celestia looked at her unwilling hero. She felt his conflicting feelings of sorrow and will to fight.
If she could help him without causing cataclysmic events to follow and suffer from the rebound of taking part in such a key event listed in the destiny of this world.
"You will still fight, even knowing that they are stronger than even the Diva we just fought?"
Lucifer didn't sneer or make fun—all he could do was just smile wryly.
This is how games were. When playing as a third-party character, all we care about is them being more difficult and not becoming a boring challenge...
That leads to a village being low-level, and then the second you move to the next, the levels and power double of monsters and villagers in an almost uncanny way.
I know he is strong, but for some reason, his level is higher than the diva of blight, which makes no sense logically.
If normal knights could slay them, then why do they pose a threat to the kingdom?
Dalton was stronger because of his presence in the world—this was something he realised after the events around Gwendolyn escalated over and over again.
[Do not falter, my dear Lucifer. I am here and will never let either of you fall!]
Then it is you who shoulders the burden, the curse, the rebound for your actions, right?
That is probably why you are trapped inside my grimoire despite clearly wishing to be beside me for this journey, right?
I thank you for the affection and love you give to me and Gwendolyn, but this is something we must face together as husband and wife.
We will prevail, and she will never die.
[She cannot die, or you would destroy this entire world...]
"Hahaha..." He could only laugh because it seemed likely that she did not realise she was speaking like she had already experienced it and lived that reality.
Her words were never jokes or mistruths, but today wasn't the time for him to learn this.
"What can you offer? I know you cannot help much, but you would not send me to my death against more than 220 knights and warriors, right?"
"I am your hero after all."
Celestia in Serena's body looked strange for a goddess sometimes—she acted too mortal as if she wasn't born as the goddess and was once just like them.
It was interesting to Lucifer that he noticed this, but he stored it in his memory for now as she began to speak.
"I can give you half of my templars, but you must do your best to protect their lives. In return, do not expect anything from Serena as she is also bound to me and would suffer death with the rebound caused by her interfering in this event."
This was probably about as good as he was going to get, so he would never deny or complain and just nodded to her.
For the first time, he showed respect and thanks to the goddess.
"Thank you very much, Celestia. This means more to me than you know."
"I know... I know well the extent you would go for that girl, and the same can be said for her if it were reversed."
"I wish you the best... but even if you succeed here... It won't be over, my hero. You understand this is an almost endless battle that can only get harsher.... right?"
Her concern was honestly worth its weight in gold as my chest felt more determined the more she spoke of hardships as I remembered the many years we spent together and were parted...
I could never go back to that.
"Then I will fight the very concept of fate and destiny itself."
"What a lovely hero, making your goddess jealous of another woman, fufu. My wounds are healing. Now go to your beloved and prepare for battle... The location where she dies in the book of fate is right here."
Lucifer nodded and smiled at Celestia.
For the first time, the pair seemed to form an understanding of sorts. As he turned away, he stepped towards the door before calling back.
"Marina, for this fight, I need you. I will give you all you desire after this battle—no matter what you want, I will give it to you. I swear on my title as Lord and Hero."
"Master!?"
Her heart instantly began to race from his words as all eight of her lovely red eyes glistened, her long black legs skittering to follow him as she felt excitement beyond anything in her life, feeling her long-awaited dream and desire were so close.
Marina was fired up!

Outside the carriage, he dropped down with a low thud to find the concerned girls all looking at him. Their concern became relief as they smiled brightly at him.
He walked over to his beloved ladies, thinking to himself whether they should all fight or just be the most powerful.
"Lucifer!"
"Master~ hehe."
Shaking his head, he hugged the lunging Lephalia and Irina and held them close to his chest, their fruity and floral scent soothing his stressed mind.
"You both are adult women now—stop acting like little rascals, or I'll spank your little butts."
"Hehe, please spank me in private."
"Ah~ master wants to touch my bottom!"
Their silly words helped his chest loosen a few of the tight knots in his chest, so he kissed both of them on the cheek—Lucifer carried them to Gwendolyn and Layna, who both seemed to understand something was off with him.
He placed the two girls down and let them run off as they began bickering about something to do with whose ass he loved more.
"Darling, it's not good news, right?" Gwendolyn looked at him with a warm and knowing smile as she slowly stood up and elegantly approached with her swaying hips as they embraced each other.
"It's not..."
Before he could speak, she hugged him tightly, closing his lips with hers, a soft and gentle kiss without tongues, as their breath and saliva began to mix slowly.
Lucifer couldn't resist his tongue pushing into her mouth, welcoming him inside, meeting him greedily as they swapped saliva with intense longing passion from how long they had been separated in public recently with preparations for the travel and the other girls being needy.
I have to protect you, no matter how badly my body is broken... Gwen, you are my everything.
Their kiss ended as they pulled apart slowly, Gwendolyn wiping Lucifer's lips tenderly as she whispered into his ears, "No matter what we face, I will protect you even if I should be torn to shreds by heaven itself."
Her loving declaration caused Lucifer to kiss Gwen one more time firmly—turning to Estella and Serena... The pair slowly approached as he noticed a massive host of women appear dressed in Templar armour adorned in intricate engravings upon black plating and red edging.
"Lucifer, Gwendolyn... These are all I can offer in your moment of need and struggle. Please forgive me, but rules and others are watching that could spell the end of this world if I interfere too much."
Serena transferred her voice directly into their minds to avoid confusing the people around who believed this was a holy battle to protect the church.
"Understood, thank you," Gwendolyn answered, holding Lucifer's hand tightly as she knew these events would happen, and the fact she had taken the place of the original Gwendolyn by being reincarnated made the events even more serious.
"Go, protect the cute divine birds and believers." Lucifer smiled before looking back at Layna.
"Countess Layna, do you wish to follow us to the end? If not, you can take the side of Serena and be safe. Otherwise, only endless battles, hell-like struggles and lots of sex await you in the future."
Layna didn't falter as her body trembled somewhat from Lucifer's honesty after seeing his smile—that made her remember that hot... thick thing inside her mouth and the addictive state.
Then she remembered the huge host of those knights... feeling a sense of excitement and challenge rather than fear. She had seen him fight against a horde of thousands alone, and his presence made all the dangers ahead seem like nothing, and just accepted his offer.
"I will follow; there is nothing you can say to dissuade me, Lucifer." Layna's firm answer made him look surprised and happy as he felt Layna deserved some praise and ruffled her long, silky, blonde ponytail gently.
He patted her lower back to leave—Estella nodded to Lucifer, quietly whispering a few words while Serena finally left with a regretful face.
I guess both her and Celestia were much better than I gave credit for.
Lucifer looked to the distance, only to see that the cavalry of Dalton Hargreaves was already halfway here...
There was no moment of reprieve—his battle to save Gwen started now.
