Villain Is Bodyguard of Heroine’s Poisonous Stepmother

Chapter 124: Ye Chen Kills Luo Zixuan

Chapter 124: Ye Chen Kills Luo Zixuan

When Ye Chen fired his gun, Ah Da and his group, clad in bulletproof vests, shielded their heads and charged at him. Given their robust physiques and the vests’ capacity to absorb much of the bullets’ impact, the gunfire posed minimal threat.

They quickly closed in on Ye Chen. Discarding his now-empty gun, Ye Chen drew an army dagger and lunged at Ah Da. With Ye Chen’s formidable strength, the dagger pierced through the bulletproof vest.

The blade did not penetrate deeply into Ah Da, but Ah Da clutched Ye Chen’s arm, holding it firmly.

“Get off me!”

Facing the deadly attacks from Ah Er and Ah San, Ye Chen, in a burst of power, flung Ah Da aside and sent Ah San flying with a kick. Previously, Ye Chen struggled against the trio, but his recent rigorous training and a surge of power now made handling them seem effortless.

“Ye Chen, save me!” Li Ting, regaining consciousness, cried out to Ye Chen.

“Quiet, he won’t save you. He’s going to die as well.”

Luo Zixuan struggled to get up from the ground, his face twisted menacingly as he looked at Li Ting.

“Luo Zixuan, release me now, or my father will never let you off.”

“Li Ting, you know I like you. Just agree to leave Ye Chen and marry me, and I’ll let you go.”

“Never,” Li Ting decisively refused.

Although Li Ting harbored some greed for Luo Zixuan, her attachment to Ye Chen was stronger. She favored Ye Chen over Luo Zixuan in her heart.

Li Ting was open to the idea of secretly seeing Luo Zixuan, even quite willing. But the thought of divorcing Ye Chen to marry Luo Zixuan was utterly unacceptable to her.

“Why? What makes me less than Ye Chen?” Luo Zixuan bellowed at Li Ting, his voice filled with frustration.

“This scene is quite the spectacle,” Chen Luo said from a short distance away, hearing the conversation between Luo Zixuan and Li Ting. Observing them, Chen Luo felt a need to wash his eyes.

If it were a beautiful woman involved, the scenario might have seemed more typical, but Li Ting’s appearance left Chen Luo with nothing but sarcastic remarks. Yet, Luo Zixuan’s infatuation was a direct result of Chen Luo’s meddling. Otherwise, why would Luo Zixuan show any interest in Li Ting, whom he would normally avoid with disdain?

Shifting his attention, Chen Luo’s primary objective was Ye Chen. His key aim for coming here was to deal with Ye Chen. If not to kill him, then to cripple him.

Ye Chen’s rapid improvement in strength was alarmingly threatening.

Initially, during his skirmish with Ah Da and his team, Ye Chen was merely on the defensive. Had Ye Chen not fled, he would have been defeated by them.

Now, witnessing Ye Chen’s capabilities, it seemed he could potentially turn the tables on Ah Da and his team at any moment.

With a loud thud, Ye Chen absorbed a punch from Ah San and countered fiercely, hitting Ah San squarely in the chest and sending him flying several meters away.

If it had been an ordinary person, that punch would have been fatal. As the battle between Ah Da and Ye Chen drew closer to Luo Zixuan, Ye Chen suddenly surged forward and grabbed Luo Zixuan.

At the same time, Ah Da and his crew captured Li Ting and knocked her out with a chop.

“If any of you move, I’ll kill him,” Ye Chen threatened, gripping Luo Zixuan tightly.

Luo Zixuan, struggling to breathe under Ye Chen’s vice-like grip, was consumed with fear.

“Don’t… don’t kill me. Everyone, stop!” Luo Zixuan pleaded fearfully toward Ah Da and his crew.

Yet, Ah Da, disregarding Luo Zixuan’s pleas, along with Ah Er and Ah San, who had gotten up, continued to advance toward Ye Chen.

“Don’t you care about Luo Zixuan’s life or death?”

Ye Chen, clutching Luo Zixuan, backed away.

“Didn’t you hear me? I said don’t move,” Luo Zixuan, gripped by fear, bellowed at Ah Da and his team.

“Our only mission is to kill you,” Ah Da said coldly, focusing solely on Ye Chen without sparing Luo Zixuan a glance.

Similarly, Ah Er and Ah San showed no emotion, their sights set exclusively on Ye Chen. Regarding Luo Zixuan, they had no intention of saving him. In fact, they were willing to let him die by Ye Chen’s hand.

From the start, they had presented Ye Chen with the opportunity to kill Luo Zixuan. A shot to the head would have been fatal. Ironically, Ye Chen opted for the heart, and due to Luo Zixuan’s bulletproof vest.

“So that’s how it is, I understand now.”

Ye Chen realized that, while Ah Da and his team appeared to be Luo Zixuan’s men on the surface, they were in fact agents of Chen Luo, and this entire scheme was Chen Luo’s orchestration. No wonder Ah Da and his team were indifferent to Luo Zixuan’s fate. They likely wished to see Luo Zixuan die by his hand.

Ye Chen’s expression grew grim, initially suspecting Luo Zixuan as the mastermind, only to discover it was tied to Chen Luo.

Now that Luo Zixuan was in his grasp, the question was whether to kill him or not.

Ultimately, Ye Chen steeled his heart and, with a swift twist, broke Luo Zixuan’s neck.

He had long harbored the intention to kill Luo Zixuan. Regardless of his actions today, Luo Zixuan’s chances of survival were slim. Chen Luo could easily pin Luo Zixuan’s death on him. So better to end it swiftly and kill Luo Zixuan himself.

Luo Zixuan died with his eyes wide open, in disbelief.

“Chen Luo, since you’re here, show yourself,” Ye Chen called out icily.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

“You’ve figured it out, it seems.” Chen Luo walked out, clapping, his gaze on Ye Chen filled with amusement.

Seeing Chen Luo, a flood of old grudges and fresh anger welled up in Ye Chen.

“How about we settle this with a duel to the death?” Ye Chen, fists clenched, challenged Chen Luo.

“Of course, let’s have a fair duel to the death.”

Chen Luo drew two Desert Eagles, aiming at Ye Chen. Witnessing Chen Luo arm himself, Ye Chen’s expression darkened beyond measure.

This is your idea of a fair duel?

“Let’s see if bullets can kill you.”

With that, Chen Luo fired, the handguns in his hands unleashing a barrage akin to that of automatic rifles.

“So, you’re also wearing a bulletproof vest,” Chen Luo’s eyes narrowed, regretting not having prepared armor-piercing rounds. But even with a vest, it didn’t mean Ye Chen wouldn’t be injured. His vest wasn’t like the high-tech bulletproof suit Chen Luo wore, unable to completely absorb the full force of the bullets.

Especially since Chen Luo was firing the powerful Desert Eagle, continuously shooting without pause. Even if Ye Chen’s vest was high quality, it was on the verge of being fully penetrated by Chen Luo’s relentless firing.

“Damn, something’s off with that gun.”

Ye Chen felt every organ in his body shake with the barrage. Typically, a Desert Eagle wouldn’t hold more than ten rounds, yet Chen Luo had fired dozens without reloading.

This was absurd. It was as if he was cheating.

Indeed, Chen Luo’s guns were modified to automatically reload, capable of holding up to 100,000 rounds. It was truly a form of cheating.

But Chen Luo thought Ye Chen seemed more like the one cheating, dodging, and weaving so that hardly any bullets hit him directly. If Ye Chen were an ordinary person, the Desert Eagle’s firepower, even with a bulletproof vest, would have been fatal by now.

But this guy’s resilience was remarkable. Even without a vest, as long as it wasn’t a lethal hit, he could probably still bounce around energetically.

“I’ll end up dead at this rate.”

Protecting his head, Ye Chen rolled on the ground, quickly moving closer to Chen Luo. A shot from Chen Luo struck Ye Chen’s shoulder, causing a spray of blood as Ye Chen let out a muffled grunt but persisted in closing the gap between them and Chen Luo.
