Chapter 25: Primordial.
Chapter 25: Primordial.
The King was a powerful figure, even in front of a Legend, it didn't matter which Kingdom the King ruled over, just the fact that he was a King made his status special, especially in Genesis, which had a medieval-setting meaning there was room for discrimination especially towards people of lower classes. And the King was on top of this chain, at least in terms of status and political power.
So Night's reaction to seeing the King embrace his master wasn't exaggerated, it is true that Legends aren't very common, in fact, it is said that at present there were less than 1000 Legends in the entirety of Genesis. However, a Legend still had to be formal to people of higher political status, that was just how it was unless of course, a Legend is the King himself.
Night quickly snapped out of his thoughts and knelt in front of the King.
"Forgive me, Your Majesty, I was just a little surprised. I am Night, a disciple of Master Noel."
As Night said that the King's eyes grew wide, he was shocked at the fact that Noel had another disciple, since most of the time anyone who approached Noel to be his student, he immediately rejected them, that along with the fact that Noel was one of the few Legends who had no interest in fame or wealth.
"Ah, Noel's disciple you say? interesting, I am Alaric Tristan, the current King of Vraun" he said with a proud tone.
He then pointed towards the woman and said, "And that is Py-"
Before the King could finish a loud voice interrupted him
"YOU, ITS YOU, YOU'RE THE ONE WHO MANAGED TO RESIST MY EYES," said the lady behind the King.
There was silence for a few seconds, The King was now more surprised than he had been before when he found out about Night being Noel's disciple.
The lady rushed forward to Night and held by the shoulders,
"Tell me, quickly tell me how you did it, perhaps it was a relic? NO, NO WAY, there should be no way a relic as such would exist in the lower realms."
Before Night could even speak the lady interrupted him again,
"ALRIGHT FINE, that's how you wanna play, guess you leave me no choice then, I'll just use my prowess to find out, it's simple."
This time the aura around her changed, she now closed her eyes and was now right in front of Night's face and as she opened his eyes Night noticed the difference, her colours changed from blue to dark grey.
"Divine Insi-"
A blade pointed to her before she could finish.
"Oy old hag, I'd advise you not to do that, you'll regret it, not only because he's my student but because of something much bigger. That is all I'll say, if you still wish to continue then go ahead but remember this if you so much as cause a single cut to appear on him, I'll never forgive you." Noel said with a cold tone.
Night couldn't move or even escape from the lady's grasp, she was freakishly strong for someone so fragile looking.
"Bah, stop worrying about everything, I can take care of myself and the boy, have you forgotten? even Divine beings cannot hurt me." the lady said as she now looked into Night's eyes once again.
"Divine Insight!"
*??????*
She looked around to see where she was. It was pitch black, nothing could be seen or heard, she couldn't even move or feel, she was just conscious until finally, she heard a voice.
"My my quite the surprise, who would've thought Little Pythia would visit me" a voice rang out.
"WHO'S THERE" Pythia screamed, when she turned back all she saw was a Throne and a woman sitting on it.
The woman was pale with pitch-black hair, she was without a doubt one of the most beautiful beings to ever exist.
"Oracle of Delphi, you dare raise your voice in front of me? I haven't done anything to you only because of little Apollo but don't push your luck" the woman on the throne ordered.
Pythia was shivering, she had no control over her body and didn't understand what was happening, she mustered up the energy to say a few words.
"W....w-who....a-aare yy-you? e...e-even ifff you're a D-d-divine being you cant h..hurt me." Pythia said while shivering.
"Divine?" The pale lady questioned before continuing, "Oh you mean those little children hah, since you assumed I'm just a Divine being let's go with it"
'Just a divine being' was all Pythia focused on.
"Well since I quite like Apollo and I admire your courage to use your pathetic little skills on someone like Night, I'll let you go. Don't push your luck little one," the lady said while smiling.
The darkness around Pythia was slowly disappearing but she wanted to know the lady's identity.
So just before she disappeared, Pythia cried out to her, " Wait, please tell me, if you aren't a divine being then what are you?"
Pythia was now falling through the darkness and slowly the distance between her and the lady increased, just before the lady disappeared, a smile appeared on her face.
"Primordial"
