Chapter 191: Does it matter? Or not?
Chapter 191: Does it matter? Or not?
"As expected Night was the winner of that match. However, JetSky was beastly, those movements of his were almost like they were from some kind of anime. Fluid and precise. I would talk about Night but I don't think there's any need to talk about how good he is...."
"You're right.....if only we were that good..."
"Oy! Stop sulking. We can get to that level as well. We just need to continue focusing on ourselves and doing what we want to. Did you forget what Mr.Reed said about Night in that interview?? He said that Night was a player who did what he felt like and played casually,"
"You're right.....I'm sorry. Let's work hard!"
The spar acted as motivation for everyone there, after seeing Night and JetSky show such skill, they all wished to reach such a level. However, more than the other players there, Sketch as well as the other NPC's there were taken aback. To the point where Sketch actually felt like Night was meant to be an assassin. More than that, most of the NPCs in the Den knew of JetSky. Naturally, considering he was probably the best assassin in the game, and not to forget the fact that he managed to clear the first two trials at such a young age.
'This...how...he was clearly slower. Every movement of his was accurate, there wasn't one attack that went to waste. His control over his energy is perfect.....it's absolutely flawless....and to think he's beaten one of the topmost talents I've seen all my life....'
"That was fun," Night said as he held out his hand to help JetSky up, naturally, the latter wasn't in such a bad condition that he needed it but the gesture showed good sportsmanship spirit and Night was all up for that. "You've improved you know? The growth is very obvious and it's kinda frightening, to be honest...."
"Haha, it's funny to hear that from you, you know?" JetSky said as he accepted the gesture after blinking and Night's hand for a few seconds. "You who's supposed to be the mountain that towers over other mountains. But you're right, it was fun. I almost feel empty now that it ended," he said as he looked at his hands while opening and closing them.
"Ah, I get that feeling. Oh, wait, on that note. What do you think about joining The Primordials?" NIght asked, surprising everyone present there. It was news. Big news. Another world-famous player joining The Primordials, at this point, one could speculate that the clan was only meant for the top brass and only the world-renowned.
That statement wasn't exactly wrong, there was some truth in it. However, that was only because of the conditions required to join the clan. In the first place, there is no method for someone to join the clan without receiving an invite. It was decided by the two of them that leaving the request option would only fill their inboxes every single day, and filtering them would be painful.
Instead, inviting players who are deemed as talented and professionals was a better option. However, that didn't mean that every single player on the trending list was going to get an invite. Even amongst players from this list, only the ones that Night and Nate deem worthy are allowed to join. It was slightly boastful and may come off as prideful but not a single person questioned it. Especially after they witnessed Night's fight against the entirety of Relentless.
JetSky did involve himself in clans, but nothing permanent or long-lasting, it was only for short-term raids or boss battles. Meaning joining The Primordials, which was undoubtedly the strongest clan at the moment, was the best option for someone who wanted to improve.
However, what most people fail to catch and what JetSky did, was the fact that The Primordials was a new clan, meaning in terms of overall clan worth, they weren't at the level of Relentless or The Uprising. It was true that Night alone was more than enough to take on most of Relentless but that didn't mean The Primordials and Relentless would offer the same resources.
Perhaps the better long-term option would be to choose The Primordials, however, at the moment, Relentless definitely had to edge in resources due to how long they've been in the game. Although looking at the pace at which Night and Nate are taking the clan forward, it wouldn't take too long for them to overtake Relentless in that aspect as well.
"Take your time. You don't need to rush. I'd understand if you decline as well. I only thought that it would be nice to have an assassin like you in the clan. Other than myself and maybe Layla, there isn't anyone else who can move quickly. So having you there would completely change that," Night explained with a smile. He could see the hesitation and confusion in JetSky's eyes and he wanted to make sure it was an invitation and not an order.
"T-thank you. I know this would sound stupid and not something that makes a lot of sense, but personally, ever since I was defeated, I don't think I can find myself worthy of such a clan unless I complete the Phantom Trials. It only feels right then....I'm not sure how to explain it...." JetSky spoke in a way that people could barely recognize. His tone and attitude were completely different compared to the interview that was streamed.
Rejecting the invitation from the current strongest clan? It was not only rejecting Night but Nate as well. And it was widely accepted that these two were probably the strongest in the game, and Ken was tagging along right behind them.
'Why would I simply walk into heaven. I must prove myself and live. Similarly, before I join The Primordials, I will prove myself by surviving and clearing the Phantom Trials,'
"Then it's settled, I'll send you an invitation in private and you can choose to accept it whenever you see fit or change your mind," Night said as he glanced over to Sketch who was blankly reciprocating the stare. "I understand what you mean. Take your time. And even if your decision changes, it does not matter,"
