Chapter 169: Nice#2.

Chapter 169: Nice#2.

"Shooting from afar is tiring...but it's working, although my damage is considerably lower, this will have to do for now," Nate muttered to himself as he looked at the Guardian thrashing about which in turn killed the surrounding monsters. "Confused as to why you can't use your magic? Haha, stupid thing,"

The Guardian of Mount Tempest was metaphorically brought down to the ground, Eve and Noxx continued attacking the creature, with the attacks Nate was throwing every now and then, it made it look like they were hunting down some chained creature.

Which in a way made sense considering a monster that couldn't rely on magic was essentially one that had its wings clipped. However, this was a Guardian, not just any random monster, Guardians had more than the average intelligence meaning it would soon stop trying to use its skills and simply use its physical prowess to finish off Nate and the others.

*WHAMMMM*

As soon as that thought crossed Nate's mind, the Guardian used its spiky tail and smashed into Noxx. Thankfully, it was the tank and not Eve, she would've been sent flying hundreds of meters away, which to be honest does sound like a fun idea. Noxx was right, he could definitely withstand the attack, although it would be unfair to say it was nothing. After all, he was pushed back multiple meters.

"That.....hurt like a bitvh.....urgh," Noxx cursed as blood slowly trickled down his lips. Holding onto so much weight and even standing his ground against such force wasn't easy, if the attack didn't directly cause the damage then just the overall pressure would have.

*VRIIIIIIIRIIIIIIII*

The monster screamed out in anger as it realized that annoying little Noxx was still on the ground and not sent flying into the sky. The noise it made was awfully familiar to a famous anime that Nate had watched, although he couldn't quite a finger on what exactly it was.

"Took your time," Nate smirked as he looked at the huge creature trying to move in accordance with their attacks, naturally, it was failing miserably. It was a creature of the air, which meant that it was supposed to be comparatively quicker, regardless of its size. However, what the others failed to see was that with its magic skills cut off and with the attitude of most Guardians, there's no way it could actually tap into its true gifted potential.

"This is going a little smoother than anticipated....which is a little suspicious but let's just embrace the fortune..." Eve said as she looked at the troubled Guardian. It was a little too big for its own good.

It was that time. The time that the drones captured footage of Shade soloing another Guardian. Using the word soloing may sound like the fight was one-sided, which was exactly how it was. The Guardian was multiple times bigger than Shade. As a matter of fact, Shade was the size of a human, albeit a very shredded human, and the Guardian was the size of two huge trucks.

- Someone's soloing the Guardian?? And effortlessly so? Am I seeing this right? The footage has to be corrupted or edited right? How can that be possible.....

- Look closer.....that fighting style. Those skills, that darkness. There's only one player who can use such skills and move in such a way.

- You don't mean.....

- Yes....that has to be Player Night, The Anomaly himself. Although he does look different, his body is unusually shredded and his appearance is slightly different.

- Slightly different? That's almost another being, I can see the similarities but this is something else....who would've thought he managed to change his appearance.....

- I think the better question is why would he want to change it. Don't get me wrong, I'm straight and all but I feel like credit has to be given where it's due. Player Night is possibly the most good-looking man I've ever seen. At least top 5 for me!

- Never thought I'd be saying this, hopefully, my wife isn't watching but I agree! That man is simply too much! Have you seen the way he moves? The only time he ever acted out was to protect his friend, and he did so elegantly as well. Haah what a role model!

As much as the audience would enjoy complaining and canceling them for being unprofessional, they had no choice but to agree. Luke was unnaturally good-looking, paired with the skill he displayed in the tournament, both in-game as well as in reality, he was nearly the perfect human being.

- Ahem! Anyway, Player Night, The Anomaly truly surprising us once again! The day a player can solo a Guardian is here! You heard it, right folks! Player Night is the to do it! Truly fitting!

- Mhhmh and I assume that is Valerian Milo, though we don't actually know his in-game name, it would be safe to say that is, after all, he is right next to Layla and Davinky, both of whom are Mr. Milo's close acquaintances. The group seems to be extremely well balanced and is actually dealing large amounts of damage!

- The brother-sister combination is definitely something else. However, I have to say, it feels like I've seen Valerian's character somewhere, though it's probably just me.

Once again, Nate's insight into the situation was vital. If not for him warning Valerian, then by now the world would know who Mocha really was. However, it's not as if Nate was the only one who was behind the reason for their success. Mocha was the only reason why there weren't any deaths or any major injuries. In a way, it was fine if the players were to die, but Nate absolutely dreaded the thought of soldiers dying on his watch.

Guardian of Mount Tempest

Level 150

Grade: Uncommon

Hp: 600,000/1,500,000

"Fck...." Nate cursed as he looked at the Guardians status. The five minutes of relative peace they've experienced so far was about to end in a second and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. Hecate's Torches didn't trigger so there was no way he could use Three Moons Dispersion, and the Guardian had a little lesser than 50% of its health which was a lot. However, there was one good thing, the majority of the damage dealt so far was done by Eve. Every now and then Nate just threw a single wave of mana at the creature, which resulted in him gaining back a bit of his mana.

"Noxx watch out, it's going to use its skill!"

A trick. That's what it was, now that the Guardian could freely exercise its magic powers, it stole the reins back and was in control of itself. There wasn't any glass ceiling stopping it, the Guardian could play all the tricks it wanted.

'Anemostatic Wave...'

It was probably the most ambiguous skill the creature had, all that was written was that the speed of the winds would increase, which didn't exactly sound all that great. However, what exactly did that mean? Did it mean the speed of the passing winds would increase? Or did it mean all winds produced in the range would have their speed increased?

Gusts of winds picked up the tiny monsters like little pieces of hay in the wind and twirled them around mercilessly before throwing them across the battlefield. However, that wasn't it. This wasn't the reason why the skill was to be feared. The question of why the Guardian was built in such a way even though it was an aerial creature was now answered.

Its wings that were made up of rocks and large boulder-like objects slowly moved in an upward fashion before descending. It was weird to see its wings move in such a way, especially because of how solid and compact it looked. As soon the Guardian completed one flap, every creature in the 30-meter radius was sent back flying. Nate and the others weren't an exception, they weren't as heavy as the other monsters, although Noxx was relatively heavier, not that it spared him from flying and crashing into random objects flying around.

It was worse than a hurricane, the winds fully sent them flying backward, it was like a huge explosion, even Nate, who could understand what was happening due to him knowing the status, couldn't react on time. It was like a helicopter landing in a random field, blowing away all the grass blades and pebbles, except it was probably more than 10 times stronger.

"Urgh....." It was horrible, thankfully nobody was dead, although the fall damage was awful and all their senses were disturbed. His ears were ringing, his nose was overwhelmed by the smell of blood and sand. It was the same for the other two as well. The attack was just too sudden and random to even try and counter or resist.

It was dark, even if his eyes were safe, he couldn't see anything. Even though it was a game, Genesis followed the foundations of reality, meaning other than the status icon in the side of his vision, everything else was dark. Until he received a new notification that brought some sense of relief in him, a login notification from someone reliable. Although it wasn't related to Nate's current situation, it still helped ease one worry.
