Chapter 167: Husband...
Chapter 167: Husband...
"This should work right?...."
"Hopefully. It's a good plan, so don't stress out too much," Eve replied as she rested her elbow on Nate's shoulder. She was just as stunning as ever, in fact, the battle wear that she so elegantly donned made her look like a ferocious dragon that shape-shifted into a human.
Nate didn't mind Eve's gesture, in fact, she was someone he quite literally trusted with his life, though it was in the game, both of them grew quite close over time. While initially, Eve was only interested in the knowledge, surprisingly Nate's personality very weirdly resonated with hers.
"Haah.....oh there he is! He certainly took his time," Nate exclaimed as he looked at Noxx rushing towards them while shield smashing into the mobs in the path. "Well hello there, you know Noxx, for a tank you do some good damage,"
"Pah pah.....just...gimme a sec," Noxx answered while panting, the heavy armor truly lived up to its name, although the armor was only an uncommon grade, it was still quite sturdy. "That...would be because of the weight... of my strikes....."
"That makes sense, the game truly does account for every detail huh? I wonder what would happen if you were to pick up a stone and throw it," Eve mused after listening to Noxx's answer.
"It would probably depend on your strength stat and the weight of the stone, as well as a few other factors, you know? Whether magic was used with it, gravity, the defence of the opponent, but all in all, I think it is safe to say that Genesis implements the smallest of details. Including things that didn't exist. For example, the smell right now. It's a mix of blood and something pungent, the sand under our soles feels exactly the same. It's uncanny but the fact that KYOJIN more than outdid themselves is confirmed." Nate replied as he rested his eyes, he was very slightly massaging his eyebrows as he answered. It was preparation for what was to come, for something that was not too far away. It was preparation for that abomination a 100 meters in front of them.
"Eyes of the Primordial..." he muttered as he opened his eyes, he looked right into the Guardians soul, instantly sending shivers down its spine. A familiar feeling, the gentle touch of its ancestor. Although the Guardian has no relation to Gaia, it was obvious that they would look out and be wary of someone even the Gods of Olympus fear.
Guardian of Mount Tempest

"That's...not too bad..." Nate muttered as he looked at the status information of the Guardian. "It's a wind type Guardian, this isn't exactly a thorn in our plan but it very well can be. So let's end this quickly...."
"What's its level? Where's it from? I mean which region does it guard?" Eve asked curious as to what this beast they were to slaughter was.
"Uhhh level 150 which in all honestly is something we can handle and it says Guardian of Mount Tempest....I haven't heard of that place. Have any of yall?"
"No, I don't think so..."
"Likewise, I haven't heard of a Mount Tempest yet..."
In Nate's mind, Mount Tempest sounded dangerous and scary. Which it probably was considering, the Guardian left it alone and was fighting for more territory. However, that wasn't all he was thinking about, if the Guardian from Mount Tempest was here then that meant the location wasn't too far off. Naturally, to rule both the North and the South properly, one must rule everything in-between as well. With that being said, it wouldn't make sense for the Guardian to travel thousands of kilometers just for another piece of land. Especially when its other territory was far away.
'Doesn't it have a passive advantage there? Why would a Guardian risk coming all the way here for such a stupid reason....just what did that Myth do or say that made them take such a huge risk...speaking about the Myth, hopefully, Night's master didn't cross paths with him. We can't be that unlucky right?'
Nate felt stupid as soon as the thought crossed his mind. He was talking about luck when Night was on his side. Mini incidents such as falling into a puddle or a car running over a water puddle, slipping over a banana peel. Situations like those were more or less a daily thing for Night, however, whether it affected him or not was something that was in his control, and with his skill and control, there was no way he would fall for a banana peel on the floor. However, what wasn't in his control was the flow of the game, and weirdly enough, his luck affected the game which in turn left him no choice but to comply.
"Rat bastards ass..." Nate mumbled as he realized what was going on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You were right. We did meet again." Noel said as he looked at the other man.
Even though there was a distance of at least 30 meters, both of them could hear each other. Noel was dressed in his usual clothes and nothing over the top, whereas, the other individual was dressed in formal battle wear.
"Isn't that obvious? I'm a man of many things and my word tops that list,"
"Hmph, Neo Thallius....the descendant of Achilles, a Myth..."
"Hoh? You've heard of me? The Legendary Grandmaster Noel has heard of me? Truly an honor to be noticed by the Void Swordsman himself. How's the family? Are they well? Is Madam Pythia keeping it together? Or is the age perhaps getting to her?"
"Talk all you want. You should be more worried about your own kingdom. Your little prince isn't doing all too well, don't even get me started on his stupid teacher, tch," Noel scoffed, he truly thought the lowest of Sir Dior. "Ah, I see the blade you used,"
"This one? Oh a Gladius, I'm sure you know it better than I do though, after all, you are a Grandmaster..." Neo said as he glared into Noel's blackhole-like eyes.
A Legend vs A Myth. The magnitude of the battle couldn't be measured by any player, not yet at least. The damage that was going to be done to the surroundings would be out of the world, which was the reason they were in a barren land. A Legend itself is someone capable of destroying an entire village in a single strike, especially someone like Noel for whom it would be like breathing.
The one thing that both of them would agree upon is that they were eager to fight each other. The excitement of battle was something no warrior could ever ignore. However, it wasn't the time for it. After all, this wasn't any normal duel, this wasn't a fight where a winner would be declared and the loser would be left to walk away. This was a duel to their deaths, and only one man was walking out of the fight alive.
The pressure the both of them emitted was immense, it would easily render someone who wasn't used to this, useless. Neo held his Gladius through the hole in the interior part of his shield and a spear in the other hand. Noel, on the other hand, had his Katana sheathed and one hand rested on it. After all, someone of Neo's caliber could easily cover 30 meters in a single stride.
The first move was the most important one. Especially in a battle of this level. Where every strike dealt was fatal. The descendant of Achilles was no joke, after all, Achilles was one of the, if not The Greatest Hero to exist. At least, he was the most popular one, and there had to be a reason he was revered.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure the news of your death reaches Cassandra," Neo smirked as he took his stance.
Meanwhile, deep inside Vraun, the capital city. Inside a room in the Royal Castle, a lady who was dressed in a frilly gown stood in front of a mirror. Her hands were milky and looked gentle. Her demeanor was that of royalty. Obviously, this was King Alaric's daughter, the Future Queen, Cassandra Tristan. Although usually, she was playful, when it came to such situations she was probably the most dependable mind, and Nate could personally vouch for that.
However, even during such a situation, she had a satisfied and joyful look on her face as her hands caressed her stomach gently almost as if she was protecting something important.
"Husband...."
