Chapter 852: Chapter 848: Truly Awakened
After being in a coma for so long, Kennedy Green was recovering at an incredibly fast pace these past few days.
On the first day, he moved a few of his fingers, on the second day he moved his feet while getting a massage, and on the third day, he moved his head.
On the fourth day, Maggie Mitchell and Richelle Dunn saw him several times, appearing as if he was trying hard to open his eyes.
These days, aside from eating, drinking, going to the bathroom and sleeping, Maggie spent all her time chatting non-stop with Kennedy.
From when they first met, to many happy and unhappy trivial matters.
Listening to the scattered bits and pieces, Richelle felt that their nearly forty years of love and marriage could be written into a warm anthology.
The seemingly insignificant yet sweetly mundane chatter from Maggie was clearly eliciting a strong response from Kennedy’s heart.
On the fourth night, Maggie happily sent a voice message to Richelle, saying that when she mentioned the details of their wedding, Kennedy squeezed her hand.
Despite his lack of strength, the tangible feeling of their skin touching made Maggie’s blood boil.
“Richelle, I’m so excited! I probably won’t sleep tonight. I’ll stay by his side all night. Otherwise, he’ll be scared if he wakes up and doesn’t see me!”
After listening to Maggie’s excited voice message, Richelle felt both excited and touched.
Originally, she wanted to persuade Maggie to get some sleep.
But putting herself in Maggie’s shoes, she knew she would make the same decision as Maggie.
Even if others advised against it, it wouldn’t change her mind.
“Auntie, please take care of yourself too. Have someone get you a softer chair with the right height for lying down. I’m looking forward to receiving good news from you and Uncle in the middle of the night!”
Normally, Richelle kept her phone in normal mode when she slept.
But it was placed on her bedside table. Tonight, however, she deliberately put the phone beside her pillow.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
It seemed as if she had a hunch that there would indeed be good news tonight.
As expected, Maggie called her in the middle of the night.
Richelle answered the phone but didn’t have time to speak before she heard Maggie’s loud scream from the other end of the line!
“Richelle, Mr. Green is awake! Mr. Green is awake!”
By the time Richelle and Roy Lewis rushed to the hospital, the dean had just conducted a comprehensive examination on Kennedy and settled him back in the ward.
“Uncle!”
Roy and Richelle gathered around him.
Maggie, with red eyes and a smile, hugged them both and then stepped back, giving up her spot by the bedside.
Kennedy stared at them, his eyes lacking luster, even appearing somewhat dull.
“Uncle!”
Richelle called out, and Kennedy’s eyes moved slightly. His lips twitched, but he didn’t make a sound.
Clearly, he had heard her.
For a patient who had just awakened from a coma, his condition was considered very good.
Richelle took his pulse, then withdrew and left the room with Maggie, leaving the space for Roy and Kennedy.
Once the door was closed, Roy pulled up a chair and sat down.
“Uncle, I’ve already passed the disabled welfare proposal, and it’ll be implemented soon.”
Kennedy blinked, his eyes revealing a hint of joy.
“I’m going on a visit to the neighboring country in a few days to try and sign the agreements and cooperation outlined in the notes you had taken before.”
“I’m having a great time as acting president, so take your time to recover, there’s no need to rush.”
“As for the Lewis Group, you don’t need to worry about it. Richelle has a good handle on things. The Lewis Group has made more money in these few months than when I was CEO.”
