Chapter 92 092: The Justification Of Titus Boris
With everything that has gone down so far, Cole would have been incredibly stupid if he had made the mistake of underestimating what or who he most definitely knew was responsible for all of this carnage. Normally he should have just been done with everything and be on his way, but he had received a system quest that ad put him right on the trail of the goblin just after he finished with the first bounty… this clash was inevitable.
Cole rolled to the side, evading a stream of fire that roasted an innocent bystander to bits. He fired off a shot, but a bubble of sorts appeared around the goblin that protected him from the bullet. However blue obsidian was akin to a shot gun, squeezed down into a revolver, there was a significant amount of power behind its shots strong enough that even with the bubble, Titus was blasted outside of the manor.
Cole followed right behind him, just after telling Morgan to stay put and keep an eye on his other bounty, the pair of thieves that might feel so inclined to run away while Cole dealt with a particularly pesky goblin. Cole ran right outside, and received a fireball to the chest for his trouble, he was blasted back into the manor, hitting the doors on his way in as the smell of brunt flesh and the ache of his bones became known to him… Cole growled out in anger.
[Double Tap]
*Bang! Bang!*
Two shots, one was defended, but the other went a little wild and clipped Boris on the ear instead, cutting g of a piece of it that fell to the ground as Boris shrieked out loud in pain. That didn't stop Cole though as he rushed out of the house and slid on the ground, directly over another fireball, this once cackling with the familiar lightning and purple of chaos energy.
*Boom!*
It smashed into the wall above the main doors as Cole used [Shadow Dance] to jump out of a shadow that was casted by a small statue of a goblin right besides Titus. He used a flying knee only to impact the bubble that had been keeping him safe, and was subsequently blasted backwards through the air as his body sashed through the same statue that had brought him closer.
He turned his body in the air, rolling as he used the butt of his gun to arrest his momentum, bringing himself to a halt as sparks rose up from the ground. He snorted and threw a [Chaos Blast] of his own right at the goblin. The bubble sprang up again, but this time the response to the skill was a lot different.
[Chaos Blast]
*Boom!*
Titus was blasted backwards, his small goblin body smashed through a sculpture before going back a few more meters to smash into a fruit tree of some kind. The rotted fruits fell on his body as his body hit the tree, spilling maggots and a foul smell all over him. Cole pressed his advantage, running towards the goblin to quickly secure his prisoner, in return he got a bolt of lightning to the chest, and honestly speaking… it was the worst feeling of his life.
Cole felt his body lock up and he vibrated on the spot, paralyzed by the pain and shock as he crashed to the ground, hos body curling into itself as he tried to deal with the pain. He was absolutely lucky that the lighting had not made ammunitions on his body go off, if not that would have been the worst scenario possible.
For Titus the lightning had been desperate move, because after he had hit Cole with it, he could barely get back on his feet. He rolled over, spitting out a mouthful of rotten fruit flesh and maggots. He shuddered, absolutely incensed and furious as he looked at Cole who was still recovering from being struck point blank range with a lightning Bolt.
"You! I make you rich and this is how you repay me! Are you mad! Don't you realize that this is what that bloody system wants! It brings power with its encroachments, sows chaos and destruction, and creates life just as easily as it unmakes everything you have ever known or understood! And then it gives you power and tells you to grow stronger, but when you chase after the fundamental rules of its own existence it labels you a heretic and sends some new wonder kid to slay the beast!
Don't you see, it's the system that's the enemy! Why should it have all the power, why should it be given an excused! Sure I sacrificed everyone on this farm for my rituals, but that was why they were hired in the first place! So because I kill 300 people and use their souls to fuel my rituals I am now a heretic, what about the fucking system that kills billions every time there's an integration! Why isn't it called a heretic and people searching for a way to destroy it? Huh!"
Cle got back up to his feet, albeit shakily as he looked at Goblin yammering and screaming his head off in an attempt to justify the massacre he had wrought and the innocent lives he had taken. Perhaps of course he was right, about the system though, not about being justified for killing. Perhaps it was the real enemy and Cole knew anytime, any day he would be down for giving whatever entity was responsible for this digital universe a piece of his mind, but the truth, the absolute truth….
"I really don't care Titus. You see back on earth, there are a lot of religions. And we humans anytime something bad happens, or we are unable to get what we want or we get out heartbroken we tend to want to blame God… in fact it is something we are very good at. It's so crazy to the point that many would analyze and break down the 'Validity' of his existence. But whether you are a Buddhist a Muslim, a Christian, a Hindu, or a Pagan… our beliefs makes us who we are.
And when shit goes down that we can't explain, we blame them, our beliefs, our gods, our religion. But you know the truth, no matter how much we bitch and moan about our gods, in the end, it is what it is. You don not question God because frankly speaking you cannot come face to face with him and argue why he's made you live such a fucked up life without doing shit about it! For me the system is just the same. If I ever get a chance to meet it face to face, much like the same way with God… I am prepared to give it and Him a piece of my mind.
But until them, everybody alive has freewill, the choice to live right, decent or be downright psychopathic and evil and not own up to it like your fucking face is doing is completely left up to us. I am no perfect human being but I can assure you…. I'm no fucking hypocrite. When my time comes, and I know it will someday. I will not justify every wrong thing I have done by saying its God's fault or in your case the bloody fucking system.
You fucking sacrificed babies! For a ritual that I don't even know what it does or really give a shit about. I have seen the results of your ritual and it is disgusting. So the best you can do is die properly, and not be such an absolutely whinny nasty bitch!"
"Die? I do not understand. Your quest, isn't is supposed to be to bring me in alive?" Titus asked, and Cole nodded his head with a smile.
"It was, but you should be happy, now even I feel the need to rebel against the system, don't worry…. I'll make sure it's extremely painful." Cole said as he holstered his gun and pulled out Black Malakai, spinning the blade in his hand as he fell into a stance for [Black Demon Swordsmanship] a small throwing dagger found its way into his other hand.
Titus huffed and cleaned his clothes, grabbing a chain around his neck and pulling it off hard. Cole watched impassively as the 3 foot tall goblin Titus Boris grew to an astounding 8 feet tall, and summoned a rapier from his inventory before pointing in Cole's direction. To say the Raen spawn was surprised would be an understatement…. His target grew big, and he had a lot of muscles too. Plus the full head of purple hair on Titus's head seemed to sway in the air as if being caressed by some invisible wind, it was really weird.
"If you think to take me down Mr. Cole… I'm afraid you might have bitten off a lot more than you can chew. As you can see, I am the perfect and ultimate specimen of power, there is not a thing in this world that you can do to me as I have now returned to my true form. In order words, you should prepare to die a very painful death, for I will meet you in a trail of combat, my cursed blade versus your cursed blade, en garde knave!"
"Huh? Huh? You transform like the hulk and this is the really stupid lines that comes out of your mouth? Bruce Banner would be fucking ashamed!" Cole said and he angled his body down.
"Who is this Bruce Banner? And why should I be beholden to him boy!" Cole rolled his eyes and said.
"Don't worry about it…. you'll soon be too dead to care."
