Chapter 16 Stinking Yet Again
"Ara~ look who decided to return." Cathy opened the door while throwing a taunt at Chris who had just returned.
"Ahem! See what I bought for you guys." Chris quickly changed the topic and placed two polybags in Cathy's hands.
"Huh? What's this?" Cathy asked while Cassie also got up from the couch and ran over to see the interesting stuff.
"Whoa! Dresses!" Cassie exclaimed, her fingers running through the soft furry fabric of cute pink night pajamas.
"T-They look costly Chris..." Cathy murmured, her hands adoring a black one-piece dress that certainly gave hot vibes even when no one was wearing them!
"Haha, eat the mangoes, and don't fret about counting seeds." Chris smiled at Cathy and spoke a phrase he learned some time ago, it meant that she should just focus on the result and leave the process to him.
"You are getting way too secretive these days, Chris." Cathy narrowed her eyes at Chris and questioned once again, she didn't know why but she had a feeling that Chris was hiding a big secret.
A sister's instinct? Maybe, but her instinct sure wasn't off the mark.
"Nah, I am just your regular Chris. You have been watching too many Sherlock it seems." Chris smiled and teased Cathy, the skill of lying well inscribed in his very being.
"..." Cathy stared at Chris for a few seconds and then sighed, she fully deleted the last few minutes of conversation from her mind and began to examine the dresses again.
"Hey Chris," Cathy called again,
'Ugh, no how did you get the money question please.' Chris pleaded in his heart and it seemed like the plea indeed worked!
"These dresses... I can't believe you were the one who picked these, your choice sucks." Cathy squinted her brows and mused, remembering Cassie's 12yr old birthday when Chris tried to buy a dress for Cassie and failed miserably.
Luckily the shop had an exchange policy and Cassie was able to get a decent pair of clothes.
"Uhh..." Chris's words fumbled as he began to redden up, talking about a crush to his twin? NO THANKS!
"J-Just a little help, haha." Chris chuckled nervously, trying to act calm but also failing miserably.
"Oh~ Who is she??" Cathy asked curiously, her trademark teasing smirk in its play, choosing Chris as its target.
"A-Aria... Manager of M&H Store, Glorr Mall." Chris replied softly, still avoiding eye contact since he knew he will get flustered by talking about his first crush.
"Wow, you railed in a manager? I am impressed, bro." Cathy was genuinely surprised but she didn't break out of her character and continued to tease poor Chris.
"So, how does she look???" Cassie joined the fray and jumped on Chris's shoulders, throwing her own question at Chris.
"V-Very beautiful..." Chris murmured as his mind generated a picture of Aria, he fell into a daze once again as a small smile automatically crept up his face.
"Cass... Our innocent Chris is no more... This poor fellow is deep in love..." Cathy acted to shed a few tears and said in a sad tone.
"Gah! Shut up you two!" Chris already way too embarrassed, pushed away his two sisters that only wanted to tease him.
"Tsk tsk, throwing your sisters away the moment you got a new girl, very bad Chris." Cathy dodged his push and mocked yet again.
"You know what's called throwing?" Chris looked at Cathy who was sitting near him on the couch and teasing him non-stop.
"This!" *thud* "Owww!"
Chris kicked away at Cathy, making her fall off the couch and land her butt on the floor thus eliciting a pained grunt.
"Now you did it" Cathy roared and lunged at Chris, her long attractive nails being used as a weapon...

Chris lay on the couch looking at the complete status of his wealth tap system, since tomorrow he planned to rent a big decent house, he needed a lot of money for the rent aswell!
"I can get 15k." Chris thought with a serious face, he had calculated that if he used his clicker for exactly 25 sec, he will get 15k$.
But, of course, the near-death experience of 25 seconds frightened him, making him want to go for 20 seconds only.
*Slap*
"Don't be a wimp, Chris!" Chris slapped himself hard to get out of those '20 seconds' thoughts and turned the auto-clicker to go for 25 seconds after all.
Will he go back to being the Chris he was before getting the system? NEVER!
Chris closed his eyes and calmed his nerves, he knew that 25 seconds was just a start, maybe in the future he needs to go through much harder obstacles.
Thus, Chris calmed his body and without further ado, hit the Start button!
The cash began flowing again, first 15 seconds were a breeze for Chris as he barely felt a little discomfort.
But the last 5 seconds were the hardest, Chris's phone slipped from his hand again and fell aside on the couch.
But, actually, Chris expected it to be worse, yes the last 5 seconds were rough but they weren't unbearable!
This small victory boosted Chris's confidence a lot as he was no longer afraid of the high timings, of course, he won't just go for higher unless he had some strength to back it through.
Chris easily survived the 25 seconds and smiled, his eyes closed on their own from exhaustion and he drifted to sleep peacefully.
...
"And, brother stinks again." Cassie opened the door to the hall and remarked, her tone suggesting that she already anticipated this.
"Does he...?" Cathy looked at Chris who was lying peacefully on the couch, his body was exuding some nasty stench but that seemed to not bother him.
Cathy looked at Chris and figured that the poor guy must have been tired by mast-ahem!
Well, she wasn't wrong, after all, how else can a young man of 19 be totally tired just by lying on the couch...?
Cathy looked at him with a tinge of pity and sighed...
