Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Chi Yu was wearing his bachelor's gown and standing next to Song Luokui. Ji Xiao picked up the camera and with a "click" took a picture of Chi Yu and Song Luokui.
Song Luokui still had a somewhat bewildered look in the photo. Ji Xiao set up the camera again, "Let's change the background. Why don't you two go over to the balcony? The view is nicer over there."
Chi Yu immediately walked over towards the balcony, and Song Luokui scratched her head and also went over. The two of them stood on the balcony, Song Luokui had her hands clasped together hanging below her abdomen, and Chi Yu was also standing up straight, holding a flower, with a blue sky in the background.
Ji Xiao: "Don't stand so far apart, get a little closer. Yes, closer. Closer again, smile, don't look so serious you two, smile!"
Song Luokui shifted a little, and so did Chi Yu. Their clothes touched, and when Song Luokui heard Ji Xiao say to smile, the corner of Song Luokui's mouth curled up in a smile.
"Click" and another photo was taken.
After the photo shoot, Chi Yu took off his bachelor's gown. Underneath he had on a shirt and trousers. "Let's go, time for lunch."
Song Luokui was still a little confused. "Huh?"
Chi Yu repeated himself, "Go eat lunch? Aren't you hungry?" It was already after 12.
Song Luokui immediately waved her hands. "You go ahead, I won't go." If she went to eat with Chi Yu on campus, she wouldn't even make it to the next day before her brother found out.
Chi Yu knew her concerns. "The car is parked in the basement parking garage. Your brother isn't there."
Song Luokui fiddled with her hair to try to think of a way to refuse, but then Chi Yu said, "Didn't you say you would treat me to a meal last time?"
Song Luokui: "Alright..."
The two left the student council office one after the other. Ji Xiao watched their departing figures and tsk tsk tsk'd several times. He looked at the photos again. He had to admit, they looked good together. This was the first time he had seen Brother Chi stand so close to a girl.
The two got into Chi Yu's car again. The car drove out from the underground parking garage below the student council building onto the main campus road. As the car was driving, a familiar group of people suddenly appeared walking towards them on the pedestrian path.
Song Luokui immediately crouched down to hide below the driver's seat. She saw her brother! And there was also Lin Xingyan, Zhou Yuan and the others.
Zhang Xiyue was also there. "I wonder where Luokui went. I'll call her to come join us for lunch." She took out her phone to call Song Luokui.
Meanwhile, Chi Yu glanced at Song Luokui crouching beside him. "They passed, you can get up now."
Song Luokui let out a breath in relief and tidied her hair. Just then Zhang Xiyue's call came through.
"Luokui? Where are you? Let's eat lunch together. Your brother's here too. Where did you go just now?"
Song Luokui: "There were so many people that I got hungry, so I left first."
Zhang Xiyue: "I see. Have you eaten yet? Let's eat together, we're on the 2nd floor of the 5th cafeteria. Your brother was asking for you too."
Song Luokui: "I've eaten already. A teacher needed me for something, so I won't join you guys."
Zhang Xiyue: "Okay then. But we're celebrating at the East City Clubhouse tonight, remember to come."
"The East City Clubhouse? Okay, got it. I'll be there."
"We'll go together then. I'll talk to you later, bye!"
"Bye!"
After hanging up, Song Luokui let out a sigh. One lie required many more lies to cover it up.
Chi Yu next to her then said, "Going to the East City Clubhouse tonight?"
Song Luokui glanced at him. "Yeah."
The same restaurant, the same private room. After the meal Chi Yu sent her back.
In the afternoon after school let out, Song Luokui met up with Zhang Xiyue at the school gate. Soon Song Luosheng pulled up in his car, and the two girls got in to head to the East City Clubhouse.
Entering the private room, the table was covered in all kinds of food and drinks. Balloons and banners were hung on the walls that read "Congratulations on your graduation!"
Song Luokui sat next to Song Luosheng. The private room was nearly filled with people, some of whom Song Luokui was meeting for the first time.
"Who's that beauty next to Brother Sheng? How come I've never seen her before?"
"That's his sister, Brother Sheng's little sister. She goes to our Peking University too."
"What! Brother Sheng actually has such a pretty little sister too. Hey, what are my chances if I went after her you reckon?"
"...You'd be asking for death."
"Hahaha joking joking. Brother Sheng's sister is my sister too of course."
The wine glasses were filled. "Cheers!"
"Cheers!"
"Congratulations on your graduation!"
"Congratulations on graduation!"
The club manager came in with a cake and several ten thousand dollar bottles of red wine. "Just a little gift to congratulate Young Master Song on his graduation. Please help me convey my regards to your boss."
Song Luosheng: "Thank him for me."
The manager quickly left after delivering the gifts, and everyone kept celebrating.
Song Luokui drank quite a few glasses and her whole face was flushed red, her eyes bright and limpid. She sat there quietly like a well-behaved, delicate doll. The people around couldn't help but gasp when they saw her - Brother Sheng's little sister really was a beauty. Many couldn't take their eyes off her.
Song Luosheng had been chatting but soon felt the attention. He looked over at Song Luokui just as she drank another glass. He immediately took the wine glass from her hands, seeing her little face as red as a monkey's bottom. He waved his hand in front of her eyes, then looked around warningly. The others quickly averted their eyes.
Song Luokui pushed his hand away forcefully. "Stop waving. I'm not drunk."
Song Luosheng: "All drunks say they're not drunk." Song Luosheng waved Zhang Xiyue over from her dice game. "Help keep an eye on her, don't let her drink anymore."
He then told Zhou Yuan, "Get some juice over here."
"Yes Boss."
Now that she couldn't drink, Song Luokui didn't make a fuss. She started eating the pitaya fruits from the table, eating one after another, stuffing her cheeks. Soon the juice arrived and Song Luosheng poured her a glass.
Song Luokui had drunk quite a lot and now needed to pee urgently. She saw the private room's bathroom was occupied. Unable to hold it in any longer, she stood up wanting to run out to find a bathroom.
Zhang Xiyue turned back periodically to check on her. "Luokui, where are you going? I'll go with you."
Song Luokui: "Bathroom. I c-can go m-myself." Song Luokui spoke a little slowly but enunciated clearly. Zhang Xiyue thought she still seemed fairly sober, plus there was a bathroom in the private room, so she went back to her game.
But Song Luokui walked unsteadily out of the private room by herself. Although tipsy, she could still make out the bathroom sign. She swayed a little as she walked towards it. A server in the hallway asked where she was headed.
"Going to the bathroom."
"The bathroom is this way, please watch your step." The server was very enthusiastic.
Song Luokui gave him a smile as she headed for the bathroom, unaware that her smile had left the server stunned.
After quickly using the bathroom, Song Luokui staggered back the same way towards their private room. She seemed to remember it was Room 356.
