Chapter 61: God Being a Little Girl Is Already a Classic
According to the standard trope of transmigration novels, a novel protagonist should've met God even before being transmigrated.
Depending on God's kindness, they would even comfort the protagonist and reveal crucial information about the otherworld and the protagonist's cheat skill. Only after doing so would God let the protagonist transmigrate to the otherworld. They wouldn't simply let the protagonist transmigrate without knowing anything.
However, unlike those novel protagonists, not only did Alice get transmigrated to this otherworld without knowing anything, but she even had to take action herself to meet with this world's God. This situation was different from the various transmigration novels she had read in the past.
While inwardly complaining about her situation, Alice closed her eyes and began praying. Although Alice had been an atheist back on Earth, now that she had experienced transmigration, she couldn't care less about staying firm as an atheist. All she wanted to do right now was to return to her original world.
Fortunately, Alice's prayers were quickly answered as she suddenly felt light-headed. Then, when she opened her eyes again, she found that her consciousness had arrived at a white world.
Alice felt like she was experiencing a lucid dream. Although she had never experienced a lucid dream herself, if lucid dreams truly existed, they would probably resemble her current situation.
However, it would seem that she didn't have control over this dream. Even when she tried to think of a bunch of nonsense, the white space did not change according to her thoughts. Instead, as she recovered from her light-headedness, the white space gradually disappeared like passing clouds and revealed the scenery they concealed.
When Alice first arrived at this place, all she could see was white. Now, she could gradually see other things in this space. For example, the gaming console that was placed on the ground...
?
Alice subconsciously rubbed her eyes, thinking that she might've made a mistake. However, even after her eyes regained their clarity, the object on the ground still looked like a gaming console, no matter how she looked at it. Moreover, it wasn't a magical construct. Instead, it was a Nintendo Switch from Earth.
After hesitating for a moment, Alice took a tentative step forward to get a closer look at the console. Although her body was currently in an ethereal state, it would seem that she retained her freedom of movement in this space.
When Alice walked up to the Nintendo Switch and reached out to it, she found that she could indeed touch it and that it wasn't an illusion. This situation made Alice frown.
Initially, Alice had wondered whether the God of this world had been the criminal responsible for abducting her from Earth. However, now that even a Nintendo Switch from Earth had appeared in this place, Alice was willing to bet that she had hit the mark with her previous conjecture.
But where is this God?
After mentally labeling this world's God as a criminal, Alice looked around in confusion. Then, as her consciousness became clearer and clearer, the number of things she could see also increased. An example would be the white-haired loli snoring on the floor.
"......"
Alice massaged her aching temples as she looked at the loli in front of her. She didn't know when it started, but right before she transmigrated, it had already become a standard for transmigration novels to designate their Gods as little girls. Meanwhile, it would seem that this otherworld she had transmigrated to had also taken on this setting.
While Alice didn't dislike little girls, Gods, in her mind, should be wizened and amiable old men as that would make it much easier for them to hold a conversation. If God was a little girl, who knew what kind of unreasonable things this God would say? This was a God they were talking about, after all. If such an entity decided to throw a tantrum, the consequences would be dire.
However, even though she didn't like this situation one little bit, Alice had no choice but to bite the bullet and walk up to the sleeping loli.
"Hey, wake up. Don't sleep on the floor."
"You're not my mother..." Like a normal person, the white-haired loli muttered some words of dissatisfaction as she pushed Alice's foot away, turned away, and returned to sleep. However, the loli quickly noticed that something was amiss. Immediately, she sat up and turned to look at Alice, exclaiming, "Huh?! Why is a human here?!"
"I've been here for some time now..." Alice sighed when she saw how unreliable the white-haired loli behaved, the sense of awe she originally had toward this world's God dissipating completely. Then, she looked down at the girl, who was even smaller than herself, and asked, "Are you this world's God?"
"Yes, I am." The white-haired loli nodded. Then, she seemingly recognized Alice as she smacked her head and exclaimed, "Ah! I remember now! You're Alice! The one that came from Earth!"
"So you do know that I came from Earth."
At this point, Alice's consciousness had fully recovered already. The white fog that obscured her vision before had also vanished without a trace, so she could now see the structure of the space she was in. Rather than some heavenly place, it felt more like she was standing in an ordinary room that was only slightly larger than Rosa's shabby house. Alice found it hard to imagine that this was the place God lived in. She also wondered if Father Kasandora would give up on his religion if he found out about this.
"Of course. Anyone foreigner who crosses the world barrier cannot escape my notice," the white-haired loli said, giggling. Then, she stood up, ran to a corner of the room, and pulled out a dust-covered chair for Alice. Then, with a light tap of her finger, the dust covering the chair vanished without a trace. "Sit down, and let's talk. It's been a long time since I've had anyone visit. Even though I've told the new Hero to come to chat with me, she never visits for some reason"
"You've talked to Aird before?" Alice curiously asked after taking a seat.
"That's right. I used to talk to her in her sleep. I told her that so long as she empties her mind and prays, she can come to my place to play." The white-haired loli nodded as she sat down on the ground. Then, in a grumbling tone, she continued, "I even prepared all these games for her. But not once has she visited me before."
Hearing the white-haired loli's words, Alice couldn't help but pity the other party.
"Aird seemingly touched the Hero's Sword and awakened the Hero's power today, so I even rushed to cast a buff on her that protects her from mental magic. I wonder if she noticed it yet?" the white-haired loli said, sighing. Although her appearance was that of an immature little girl, her manner of speech resembled that of a frustrated middle-aged worker.
As for the buff the white-haired loli mentioned, while Alice couldn't say the same for Aird, she could confidently say that she had noticed it already. Specifically, it should be the "Fearless Will" skill that had appeared in Aird's additional effect section.
