Chapter 126: A Familiar View From Behind

But, before Lin Jiayu left her apartment that day and before she ran into Qiao Pan’er (back when there were rumors about her illness and she couldn’t leave her home) these people did not show any concern.

Even those that visited or sent any messages were simply trying to find out what illness she had so they could laugh at her.

She didn’t like socializing, nor was she good at socializing, so the majority of her friends were superficial.

Just like the fake Qiao Pan’er and the fickle Qiuqiu.

But, she didn’t care nor mind.

There was no sincerity in their social circle; all relationships were established on mutual benefit.

Every time they saw each other and met, it was like a battle.

Their conversations were a mix of truth and lies, and their feelings for each other were fake. Sincere and exclusive friends were rare.

That’s why she liked Yu Gangan; she felt relaxed around her. Even though they hadn’t known each other for long, they were like old friends that were comfortable and content.

Whenever she was in a bad mood or she felt like there was no meaning to life, she simply had to talk to Yu Gangan and she’d realize she was making a fuss over nothing.

Yu Gangan was always calm.

It was as though life and death wasn’t such a big deal.

Perhaps, it was because she was a doctor, so she was used to it...

Now that Lin Jiayu was cured, she had turned into the hottest topic in the circle.

Some people wanted to go shopping with her.

Some people wanted to eat with her.

Someone even asked to marry her. This man was one of Lin Jiayu’s admirers: the second son of a real estate tycoon, Du Shunian.

He had been pursuing Lin Jiayu for an entire year until she contracted her weird illness.

So, now that he heard Lin Jiayu was OK again, he immediately reappeared.

Dressed in a suit and leather shoes, he stood in front of Lin Corps’ hotel holding onto a bunch of red roses.

As soon as he saw Lin Jiayu, Du Shunian immediately approached her, “Jiayu, I was overseas during this time. When I returned, I heard your illness was cured, so I immediately rushed here to see you.”

Lin Jiayu glared at the man and headed straight for the elevator.

Overseas? Du Shunian was the talk of the town. He had been enjoying life, driving around in nice cars and hanging around with beautiful women.

The reason why he was nowhere to be seen when she was sick, was likely because he heard she was incurable.

After all, he never pursued her for love; it was all because of her identity...

Thus, Du Shunian followed Lin Jiayu into the elevator.

But, just as the elevator was about to close, someone suddenly held the door and rushed inside. It was a man with a well-refined and almost perfect face. At first glance, it was hard to tell whether he was a male or female. When Du Shunian saw him, he was a little stunned.

But, when he realized it was a man, disappointment quickly swept across his face.

Lin Jiayu also looked at the man. To her surprise, it was Lu Xuechen.

Lu Xuechen was also surprised. He never expected to see Lin Jiayu at the hotel.

Du Shunian looked at Lin Jiayu and presented his roses to her again. “Jiayu, let’s have dinner together,” he said persistently.

However, Lin Jiayu’s gaze remained cold like frost as she continued to ignore him.

Even so, Du Shunian didn’t mind, “What do you like to eat? Chinese food or Western food?”

Lu Xuechen’s lips curved upwards in amusement as he stared at Lin Jiayu and enjoyed the show.

But, as he looked at her, he suddenly realized that Lin Jiayu looked very familiar from behind – she looked like the woman he met at the bar.
