The Mysterious Black Magician

Yman chose the sword that about 2 feet in length. It was laying beside the silver shortsword.

The name of the sword was Gladius. It has a double edge. It wasn't too short and wasn't long at the same time. It cost 350 GP only. Much cheaper than the silver shortsword. And had an additional attack of +15, much lower compared to the shortsword.

And weirdly enough, he also bought a spear of 2.5 meters long. For a strategic purpose. It was named as Silver Spear, but only the blade at the tip was made of silver. And the long body stick was made from hardwood, which he assumed was a Demon Wood of rank B+.. This type of wood was unbending and hard as metal.

|So, even in this world, such wood also exist, huh.| He thought as he took the Silver Spear with him to the counter, together with the Gladius sword and 2 daggers. Each weapon was of Common Rank only.

Even as Yman was in front of the person in the counter, the person seemed to be unbothered and only showed him the total price while lifting his thick arm. Then he goes to the store to buy some potions with poison resistance. For him, more resistance means much safety. He also bought some food.

Yman and Sistela asked some of the residences about the address of certain individuals who posted the quest in the barracks. Of course, the missions that were posted there were not random quests only. They were posted there by some people or residence who wanted some assistance or wanted to get rid of some problems such as monsters who cause some issues in their daily life chores or works.

The person who posted the mission with the title of Gross Evil Rats was a middle-aged woman whose line of works was collecting some weeds inside the Underground Channel. They traveled 30 minutes using a carriage to locate the person.

After seeing the magician sent by the barracks, the middle-age woman seemed to be skeptical. The person in front of her looks like not a magician at all.

He looks sickly for some reason and doesn't have a well built healthy body. Or the blooming face of a magician. Although this person not ugly, but he wasn't handsome as well. The most magician was of a high standard of beauty. But the person in front of her seemed to be normal. He doesn't look strong as well.

He already saw many magicians, and all of them had an aura that was different from an ordinary human.

"Are you really the magician sent by the barracks to complete the given mission?" Asked the woman that sounded skeptical. While looking at Yman with furrowed brows.

They then called the weeds as Iceweeds Cold-Reliever.

After the news of such weeds reached the ears of other people who's a line of works was gathering herbs, they also started collecting the weeds. And so the Iceweeds become popular inside the city.

The price also started changing. Behind the scene, some people started to manipulate the price in the market.

Yman has the gist of what the woman said. After all, humans are born scam no matter what era. Not all but most.

Although the market price becomes messy. And the original collectors earned less day by day. But this income gave them big help for their daily life needs.

However, this past week some Evil Rats started showing up. They attack the people who tried to gather the weeds inside the Underground Channel. Which causes a big hurdle in their line of works.

Yman did not expect such drama for his first quest. Although what written in the quest description was just to kill 5 Evil Rats. Was the test really just as simple as killing 5 beasts? However, it might be simple to others, but not for him.

After 1 hour and 30 minutes of travel, Yman and Sistela reached the entrance. The Underground Channel entrance was located on the westside of the Human City Z7.
