Chapter 85: Leon Vs Euwen! (2)
The katana seemed to hum with newfound energy, its blade now shimmering with a fierce, almost ethereal light.
Euwen's eyes twitched. He suddenly felt as though the sword had changed—it had a certain fierce aura to it, a palpable sharpness that seemed to cut through the very air.
The blade's edge gleamed with an intensity that made even the most hardened warriors in the audience flinch.
Scoffing away his intuition, Euwen ordered the golem to attack.
"Let's see what you can do," he muttered under his breath.
Leon grinned, feeling the strength in his blade as he ran forward to meet the golem's attack head-on.
The golem's massive fist descended, aiming to crush Leon. With a fluid motion, Leon sidestepped, his katana slicing through the air with precision.
The spectators frowned. Golems are creatures of immense strength, and taking their attacks head-on seemed a foolish move.
But Leon didn't care about their thoughts. He slashed at the golem's downward smash.
Suiiii-!!!!!
A silent slicing sound was heard. Due to his precise positioning, the golem's arm was sliced in half, starting from the center of its fist upwards. It was as if Leon was slicing tofu—there was no resistance at all.
The crowd erupted in a mix of shock and admiration:
"He actually cut through it! Did you see that?"
"Leon's swordplay is incredible. How did he do that?"
"He must have infused his blade with Qi as well. That's the only explanation."
Euwen's smirk faltered, replaced by a look of disbelief and growing rage.
"Is this all there is to Mountain Heart Golem Art?" Leon scoffed, his voice cold as he glanced at Euwen's shocked and gloomy face.
Euwen was definitely shocked but quickly gritted his teeth and regained his composure.
Despite Leon's clean slash, the golem remained resilient, its wounds quickly sealing as new rock and earth formed to replace the damaged sections.
"If one slash won't do, I'll slash twice! If that isn't enough, I'll slash thrice! Your Golem Control Art is nothing in front of me!" Leon declared coldly. "I'm curious to see how long your Qi will last..."
With a burst of speed, Leon began slashing repeatedly. Each movement was fluid and precise, the katana slicing through the golem's regenerating limbs with ease.
The spectators watched in awe as bits and pieces of the golem flew off with each strike, unable to keep up with Leon's relentless assault.
Leon moved like a whirlwind, his katana a blur of silver light. He struck at the golem's joints, aiming for the weak points. Each slash was delivered with impeccable timing, severing limbs and cracking the golem's core.
Euwen struggled to maintain control, his face contorted with frustration as his creation was systematically dismantled.
Realizing the golem couldn't keep up with Leon's speed and precision, Euwen's mind raced. He needed a new strategy. He began brainstorming.
At that moment, Leon, did something no one expected at that moment, He abandoned the golem, sprinting at full speed towards Euwen.
Why he was fighting the golem in the first place was because it forced him to, but now it was in the middle of regenerating it's body parts Leon no longer has any reason to waste time with it...
The crowd gasped. Euwen's face turned pale, but then a smirk appeared on his lips. With a wave of his hands, another golem began forming right in front of him, and another one beside him on his right-hand side.
Leon, aiming for a head-on attack, was surprised by the sudden formation of another golem. Euwen had smartly used it as an obstruction to block Leon's approach.
With Euwen's right and frontal sides blocked by the rapidly forming golems, Leon was forced to move to the left, slashing at Euwen from that angle.
But Euwen was prepared. Leon no longer had the element of surprise.
Euwen's longsword was already out of its sheath, blocking Leon's decisive slash. The force of Leon's strike pushed Euwen back a few meters, causing him to frown.
He could feel it—Leon's strength was increasing, or perhaps he was just revealing more of his true power.
"You've got more strength than I anticipated," Euwen admitted, his voice strained as he regained his footing.
Leon smirked, his katana glinting in the sunlight. "You haven't seen anything yet."
Euwen's eyes narrowed as he assessed the situation. "I won't go down that easily."
Leon and Euwen circled each other, their swords ready. The tension in the arena was palpable.
The crowd watched in silence, anticipation hanging in the air like a heavy fog.
The next exchange was fierce. Leon's katana moved with blinding speed, each strike aimed at a critical point.
Euwen parried and countered, his longsword clashing against Leon's blade with a series of sharp, metallic sounds. They moved like dancers, each step calculated, each strike measured.
Leon aimed a low slash at Euwen's legs, but Euwen jumped, narrowly avoiding the blade. Euwen swung his sword in a wide arc, forcing Leon to duck and roll to the side.
They rose simultaneously, blades meeting in a shower of sparks.
Clang-!!!!
Every now and then the three golems as if having a mind of their own would utilize an opening attacking Leon from behind, but it always looked like Leon had an eyes watching his back as no matter how tight the formation was, he always managed to escape unscathed time and time again, surprising the audience each time...
"You're impressive," Euwen admitted, breathing heavily. This was the first time he had come across a tight situation which he couldn't break through with sheer force...

And it was annoying that apart from that thing Leon used on his blade, and the ferocious aura he released, he hadn't been able to force Leon to use any of his techniques/skills.
Leon didn't respond, his focus unwavering. He stepped forward, his movements a blur as he launched a series of rapid strikes.
Euwen blocked and deflected as best he could, but Leon's relentless assault was pushing him back.
Euwen knew he had to do something drastic. Summoning his Qi, he infused his longsword with energy, causing it to glow with a fierce light.
He slashed at Leon with all his might. Leon parried, the force of the blow sending a shockwave through the arena. Both men were pushed back, skidding across the ground.
Seraphina and the Viscount watched the duel from their elevated, distinguished position. A respectful circle of empty space surrounded them, ensuring they were undisturbed and highlighting their nobility.
Their seats, ornately carved and draped with rich fabrics, marked their status in the place.
Nearby, the four sisters—Mia, Felicia, Elara, and Amelia—sat together. Their expressions shifted constantly as they watched Leon fight.
Mia's eyes widened in surprise, Felicia bit her lip in anticipation, Elara leaned forward with keen interest, and Amelia's brow furrowed in concentration, her heart palpating with fear and worry each time Leon was attacked, sighing in relief time and time again as Leon slitheringly escaped death time and time again.
It was as if Leon's goal for this duel was to completely mess with her emotions, the other girls felt the same as Amelia too...
Felicia's scholarly husband sat beside her, his usually calm demeanor replaced with tension.
His fists clenched, and he gritted his teeth. "I never thought he'd have this level of strength," he muttered to himself, disbelief evident in his voice.
From what he had observed, Leon was likely hiding more of his abilities. Despite Euwen's formidable Golem Control skill and attacking with three golems, Leon was holding his own.
Ever since his encounter with Leon this morning, The scholar had imagined Leon being overwhelmed and then completely crushed by Euwen's golems, but reality had shattered his expectations.
"That Leon guy is not simple, it seems," he added in a calculating voice, tapping his fingers on the arm of his chair, his mind racing with new assessments of Leon's capabilities.
Meanwhile, Seraphina's gaze remained calm and focused on the duel. She knew that Leon was hiding even more strength than he was currently displaying, a depth of power greater than anyone there could imagine.
Her eyes held a glint of respect, acknowledging the prowess that lay beneath Leon's composed exterior.
The Viscount, sharing Seraphina's thoughts, observed the fight with a thoughtful expression. He too was aware that Leon had not yet shown his full potential.
As the battle raged on, both of them remained confident in Leon's ability to triumph, recognizing the formidable force that Leon truly was.
Meanwhile, the clash between Leon and Euwen intensified, each move becoming a dance of lethal precision and raw power.
Leon's katana gleamed under the sunlight as he deflected a powerful strike from Euwen's longsword, the sound of metal against metal ringing out through the arena.
Leon stepped back, his eyes never leaving Euwen. With a swift motion, he lunged forward, his katana slicing through the air. Euwen parried the attack, the force of the collision sending vibrations up his arm.
