Inglis herself wants to fight alone, without relying on others, for her maximum growth. However, facing multiple opponents is not a problem at all. On the contrary, she welcomes it.
Charlotte, who is a Hyrule Menace with prowess beyond normal Hyrule Menaces, and Tiffany, who is unusually cunning for a Hyrule Menace, willing to use any means to win. It's quite an enticing battle.
"Well then, let's think about Liselotte later and fight me first. That way, there won't be any confusion, right?"
"Why is that?"
“Would you not interrupt our conversation?”
Only then, the two got on the same ground not to engage with Inglis.
"Why not…? I'm your enemy, right? Enemies should be defeated!"
"We did not come here to defeat enemies."
"Then, what…? Why are you attacking this place? We were fighting earlier…!"Just when it seemed things were about to get interesting, it gets interrupted.
"Well, you'll understand soon enough. Just watch quietly."
"Tiffany. Your appearance here means the preparations are complete, correct?"
So Charlotte was buying time for Tiffany's preparations?
"Yes, without any mistakes. Let us count from five"
Tiffany put on a charming smile.
"Five, four…"
Tiffany began counting on her fingers.
"W-What…?"
"What's happening…?"
"For now, everyone, let's gather together!"
At this point, that's about all they can do.
"One… Zero."
And at that moment—
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM
"What…!?"
A gigantic roar and intense shaking reverberate through the area. The thunderous noise comes from all around, so loud that Rafinha and the others' voices are drowned out. The shaking beneath their feet is so severe that they can barely stand.
The cause is explosions. Countless explosions. Flames rise from all over Illuminas, creating an inferno. In an instant, the white city has transformed into a scene of a kiln set ablaze.
"Rani! Everyone, are you okay…!?"
First things first, Inglis extends a hand to Rafinha, who has fallen to the ground.
"What is this… This is the center of a Highland, right…? How can this happen…?"
"How did this… happen so simultaneously, the whole city…!"
"If the residents were still in the city, how many casualties…?"
The hellish scene unfolding before their eyes leaves Rafinha and the others trembling and dumbfounded. It's no surprise. Even Inglis is shocked by this.
The scale of Illuminas is comparable to Chairal, the capital city of Charalia Kingdom and now it’s all engulfed in flames. The sheer magnitude of this destruction is astounding.
"What…!? How can this be…!?"
"Our Illuminas…!?"
"Impossible…!"
Even the researchers of the Central Institute are stunned.
"Fufufu… Being allowed to wreak such havoc on Highland, isn't this quite the satisfying mission? To smear mud on the faces of those who live leisurely in the safety of the sky."
Tiffania smiled with pure ecstasy.
"You can laugh too, you know? Watching those pompous Highlanders running around in confusion is quite the spectacle, isn't it?"
"Who would…! There's no way anyone could enjoy watching this!"
"Yes…! We can't just stand by and let such a terrible thing happen…!"
"Why…!? Why would you do something so terrifying…!?"
Lieselotte pleads with Charlotte.
"I am an Arclord…! I do what must be done for the sake of the Lord Founder. That's all there is to it…!"
"But…! Such indiscriminate attacks…!"
"Miss Charlotte, you said this was no direct war between the Duke’s Party and the Church’s Union, but this scene is nothing short of war… How could you say this won’t lead to an all-out war?
“Indeed it would…if we were the ones who did this.”
“However, all we did is lend a slight hand…did we not?”
"Huh…? Does that mean…?"
"Well, it isn’t something to fret about too much.
The voice that interjected is a low, well-carrying male voice. A tall young man with silver hair and a monocle steps forward.
"Mr. Über…!?"
"Could it be…!"
"Is he also cooperating with the enemy…!?"
Rafinha and the others are stunned by Über’s sudden appearance.
"Mr. Über, so you were cooperating with them after all," Inglis stated.
"Oh? Did you see through me?"
"No, it was just a guess based on circumstantial evidence. The most plausible way for these two Hyrule Menaces to infiltrate Illuminas would be by hiding on your ship.”
"I see… However, let me assure you that everything I told you aboard the ship was true. Now, may I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
Über asked, turning his gaze not only to Inglis but also to Rafinha, Leone, and Lieselotte.
"What is an enemy to you? Isn't it someone who threatens your life and dignity? You called us your enemies, but here in Illuminas, that isn’t necessarily true. The story of the mana essence is the truth. These seemingly innocent residents are actually the most terrifying inhabitants of the Highland. Wouldn't it be better if they were gone? That's what I believe. After all, much like you are, I am a person from the midlands.”
"Th-, that and this are…"
Rafinha began, but her words were cut off as Über’s eyes suddenly sharpened.
“Different, you say? No, you’re just escaping reality…! You're simply being swayed by what you see in front of you…! If we let this place be, our fellow people will surely be stripped of their will, dignity, and even their lives…! Don't you want to stop that…!?"
"Ugh…!"
"Th-, that is…"
"Yes, that's true, but…"
Rafinha, Leone, and Liselotte all looked down, unable to meet Über’s intense gaze.
