The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 485

485 Chronos beefing with Hydra

Several portals opened and a dozen or so creatures appeared. The firepower directed at the beast wreaking havoc on the snowy mountains was redirected giving it leeway.

It suddenly opened another portal and reappeared on the other side of the mountains and started attacking again looking for the perfect flash point.

When the cavalry arrived, well the cavalry they weren’t expecting they were relieved. But as expected of a somewhat intelligent being had saved the best for last. They weren’t as easy to kill especially when they had to be cautious and not strike the focal points.

“I will head east and find that bastard. Be on the lookout for Han Han,” said Zi Xingxi before Chronos flew off into the distance.

The mountains that should have been tranquil and left alone was now a warzone with the fate of the federation hanging in the balance.

By the time the message was received on Cetus, Marshal Yi had already figured out what had happened and Zi Xingxi had a head start.

When he saw the distress signal he couldn’t help but swear out loud. Good thing they were already on the way otherwise the consequences would be dire. For a moment he couldn’t help but think that Zi Xingxi had done this. Given what had transpired he wouldn’t put it past her.

Using the fastest speed possible they finally reached Loch Ness star. The entire city was already up in arms with some evacuating and others choosing to stay. To them this situation was hopeless.

“Oh goody, look who is here,” said Zi Xingxi her tone brimming with sarcasm as Chronos aimed at the beast with a gravity cannon. It was the best weapon for her to use as it didn’t create heat.

.....

When she shot at the beast it would fall off balance from the force and tumble to the ground which was very annoying to the beast.

“What do you think? Do you think I am stupid?” he retorted back his expression colorful.

The beast that had fallen to the ground bellowed in anger with flames spewing out of its mouth, flames hot enough to melt a mech.

Chronos and Hydra could feel the heat trying to sear through their frame but they were able to respond in time and adjust the nanoparticles. Yi Zhen activated his electric whip.

The cracking sound of the whip sent shockwaves splitting the snow in half. This was to fully demonstrate the might of the whip.

When it wrapped itself around the beast’s neck and sent it flying across the sky, Yi Zhen felt very proud of himself.

To him, the plan was to get this thing away from the mountains as far as possible so he could use heavy firepower. Having thought of this he couldn’t help but gloat.

“That’s how it’s done. Now we attack it with everything we got and prevent it from reaching the mountain again,” he said and Zi Xingxi didn’t say anything. She let him have his moment. The face slap would be more satisfying then.

She folded her arms and Chronos followed suit. “Be my guest. You are the only genius around here,” she said and Yi Zhen couldn’t help but furrow his brows sensing something was wrong.

“You go ahead Hydra. Show it whose boss,” said Chronos wishing Igneous was here. How much more fun that would be?

“Childish,” replied Hydra and it fired a series of missiles but before they could hit the target it vanished on the spot and reappeared a kilometer from them.

“Oh, did I forget to mention that it does that?” she said her tone sarcastic. She didn’t even bother waiting for his response before flying away while firing long range gravity shock waves to knock it down.

“No, you did not. You know we all have the same goal and we should be working together?” he said but Zi Xingxi didn’t bother responding.

Never in their entire lives had they ever dealt with such an annoying creature. Just when they thought they cornered it it would create another portal and like a coward, it would run. The last time it went as far as transporting two beasts to keep these two busy.

While they were occupied it suddenly struck gold directly finding a focal point. Its flames burnt through the thick snow like a flamer shooting superheated flames into the snow.

Hydra managed to slash the leg of the creature holding him back cleanly before getting away so he could stop this beast from burning through the thick snow.

Just when he thought he was about to reach it Hydra’s ankle was caught on something preventing him from leaving. Zi Xingxi sliced the tongue wrapped around Hydra’s leg and it moved forward only for an explosive force to push him back.

Hydra spun a couple of times in the sky before steadying itself. Within the hazy cloud of snow, Yi Zhen could barely make out what was happening. He could see faint figures, three of them before two vanished leaving only one.

“Did you see that?” he asked and Zi Xingxi who was looking through the screen saw everything. Three figures appeared and one remained behind. As for the beast, it was gone as well.

The two mechs were about to approach when the other mech identified itself in the haze of snow.

“Mech 3752919 under the Marshal’s command commonly known as-,” it said before Hydra cut it off exclaiming,

“Raylan.”

Yi Zhen who was in battle mode just now was shocked, his entire body going limp like he had been drained of all energy.

“Ray-raylan... Zi Han has Raylan so.... is he... is my son,” he spoke almost stuttering.

The mech finally stopped in front of them and sure enough, it was Yi Chen in the mech. Yi Zhen didn’t dare to believe it.

He took a hesitant step forward and dared not touch him just in case it was a dream. Only the heavens knew he had dreamt of his son constantly for the past few days.

Each time he would be happy only to wake up and realise it was just a dream. This was another reason he didn’t dare sleep for these past few days
