The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 418

418 Meeting gone wrong

While Zi Han was putting on his tailored suit in front of a mirror he heard a dinging sound coming from his light brain.

“Iggy, let me see,” he said while fixing his cufflinks.

“Yes, young sir,” replied Igneous and it pulled up the message which floated on the side of the mirror. When Zi Han read it his lips twitched for a second but a slight smile slowly crept up his face.

“Would you like to respond, sir?” asked Igneous but Zi Han shook his head while sliding his ring on his finger.

“No need...,” he said turning the ring on his finger with a doting look in his eyes.

When Zi Feiji saw his grandson his jaw almost dropped. He couldn’t help but criticize, “This isn’t even your wedding yet.”

Zi Han showed a half smile while messing with his hair, “Practice makes perfect. Besides, it’s mum’s birthday so I should dress for the occasion.”

Zi Xingxi chuckled while leaning against the door. “Yes sure, you can use me as an excuse. You are just trying to impress someone and I am down for it.”

“I will bring him along. We will meet at three pm. Personally, I wouldn’t mind if you are late. It gives me and my lover some time alone,” said Zi Han jokingly and grandpa Zi almost rolled his eyes. Wasn’t he being too cocky?

.....

Zi Xingxi draped her hand over her son’s shoulders while pulling him away saying, “Old man, it’s my birthday and that beard has to go.”

Zi Feiji, “...”

“Is it that bad?” asked Zi Feiji and Old Lu showed a stiff smile unable to lie.

Meanwhile, Zi Xingxi handed her son a small packet before saying, “He replied didn’t he?”

Zi Han rubbed the small packet in between his fingers while asking, “How did you know?”

Zi Xingxi laughed out loud before saying, “Do you still have to ask this? I am your mother and I know everything... If he refuses to come with you you better kidnap him. Knock him out with this. Your grandfather is serious about this.”

Zi Han highly doubted that Yi Chen would refuse thus he laughed softly while saying, “I think it won’t be necessary.”

Zi Xingxi ruffled his hair forgetting how much work she put into styling it and kissed his temple. “I am proud of you-,” she said before a loud explosive pop sound interrupted her.

The two of them drew their weapons their eyes sharp and deadly like a viper whose lair had been broken into. But instead of an attack, there was confetti flying everywhere and a banner rolled down that was wishing Zi Han good luck.

“You go get your man Han Han!” yelled Lynn Feng with half her body hanging on the railing on the second floor of the hangar. Secretary K had to pull her back before he went downstairs as he was escorting Zi Han. He gave her a meaningful glance and Lynn Feng smiled back in tacit understanding.

Zi Han smiled at Lynn Feng while his mother whispered, “That, did you see that? Something fishy must be going on between those two. That look didn’t seem right.”

Zi Han just laughed refusing to expose them. Lynn Feng or Secretary K should be the ones to confess. “I will keep you updated,” he said and his mother finally let him go.

When Secretary K passed by Zi Xingxi stopped him and in a stern voice she said, “You know what to do.”

Secretary K nodded his head seriously and said, “I understand. I will protect him with my life.” Zi Xingxi showed a slight smile feeling a sense of ease.

Soon four stealth cruisers lifted off from the hangar and exited the warship before slowly vanished in the darkness. Zi Han’s heartbeat sped up when he looked back at the warship that was slowly restoring its invisibility.

He couldn’t wait to see his lover in person and tell him the good news. with that thought in mind, Zi Han smiled subconsciously. He pressed his hand on his stomach trying to soothe the butterflies fluttering in there.

Secretary K could see how nervous he was at a glance thus he said, “It will be okay, young sir.”

Zi Han nodded his head with gratitude in his eyes. He needed someone to tell him that.

When they reached the place, Zi Han got out of the car after they checked the location. Given the green light, the guy out and buttoned his suit jacket.

He looked at Secretary K gesturing for him to follow while the rest of the men guarded outside the museum. This museum was Zi Feiji’s treasure and he had it shut down for a day for his grandson.

Because this was their territory and the Marshal knew that it meant there wouldn’t dare pick a fight here unless they want to offend the entire Bloodgarde but they were wrong. While Zi Han was sitting in the observatory waiting for his lover to show up something unexpected happened.

A distress signal was sent from the outside. Zi Han’s heart clenched as he glanced up at Secretary K who was standing at the door on the third level. He also saw the distress signal and immediately drew his weapon rushing down to get to Zi Han.

Zi Han sneered coldly while taking out his handgun. He didn’t know whether this was Yi Chen’s doing but one thing was for sure, he was very pissed off.

A high-pitched whoosh sound echoed in the room as a thick cloud of smog filled up the place fast. Soon Zi Han couldn’t see anything but because he had Igneous this was child’s play to him.

With his hand covering his nose, he raised his weapon, and Igneous reported incoming enemies. Sounds of gunfire filled the observatory followed by sounds of swearing.

“Who are they?” He asked Igneous and Igneous reported they were from the office of the Marshal.

“It’s a pity then that I can’t shoot to kill,” he said but his heart was already bleeding like someone had carved it with a knife.
