The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 369

369 A crusader of justice

PA!

The sound of a harsh slap resounded in the silent room instantly waking up the man who had his head lowered.

That slap had aggravated his already swollen face from his grandmother slapping him earlier so it stung so much that he couldn’t help but suck in a cold breath of air.

The man opened his eyes wide and when he saw the person sitting opposite to him his feet subconsciously tried to run but an inexplicable place hurt so much but there was no relief in sight.

When he looked down his eyes trembled as the memories of the past couple of hours resurfaced.

“You you you monsters,” he stammered before breaking down crying but when his facial muscles moved it hurt so much that he couldn’t stand the agony.

“Who was it?... Oh, right... Maila, fourteen, she said you hit her each time she cried,” said Zi Han followed by a hard slap across the man’s face.

“How can you treat someone like this wuwuwuwu,” cried young master Croft forgetting how he treated his victims. The harder they begged and cried the more pain was inflicted upon them. He would beat them until they were silent and obedient thus Zi Han was very unforgiving. Recalling all those tears and all the sadness in their eyes Zi Han kicked him repeatedly while mentioning their names.

When he stopped he pulled back his hair sticking to his forehead from all the sweat. The person on the floor was barely moving and no longer made a sound like he was on his dying breath but Zi Han knew he was playing dead hoping that he would take pity on him.

.....

Zi Han stared at him with savagely fierce eyes his body emitting a repressive aura that would leave one frozen in fright. His eyes turned darker and darker as he stood there with his back lazily leaning against the wall.

Zi Han pulled out the laser handgun from its holster and examined it with his eyes lowered leisurely. While he was messing with it he heard a small choking voice utter something.

“Mercy,” said young master Croft with blood seeping down from his mouth.

Zi Han glanced at him and asked, “What?” his tone contemptuous.

“M-mercy,” he whispered again and Zi Han broke into cynical laughter.

“Did you let them go when they begged for mercy?... Or did you laugh while telling them that they belonged to you for that said amount of time?”

Zi Han fell silent waiting for a response but the man breathing shallowly wasn’t saying a word. “Scum like you don’t deserve to walk among the innocent. You had everything in the world that most people could only dream of having. But because you couldn’t restrain yourself and get some help you acted on your impulses and ruined so many people’s lives.... now you speak of mercy,” said Zi Han as he took unhurried steps towards him.

Zi Han crouched down meeting his line of sight and the man opened his mouth and closed it several times as though hesitating to speak.

“But but I didn’t kill anyone,” he said with viscous blood flowing at the corner of his mouth.

Zi Han pulled up a three-dimensional image of a young girl and asked, “Do you remember her? That is little Amy. She was sold to you by her step brothers for two days and after spending two days in your Sea Lane mansion she ended her life in the most dramatic way.”

The man didn’t look at the image. Instead he closed his swollen eyes refusing to look which irritated Zi Han. He pulled out his handgun and placed it on the man’s temple.

The icy chill from the muzzle of the gun made him shiver subconsciously as the fear of death loomed over him. When had he ever been this wronged? He was a pampered young master with all the jewels money could buy. He spent his days frolicking with his friends with zero expectations from his family. All they asked was for him to live his life honestly and not make trouble.

But there was this dark side of him that couldn’t be repressed no matter what. It started with the maidservant’s daughter and then it escalated. He had no fear of retribution because once he threw money at the problem it would vanish. This plan worked very well for yes without a problem that is up until now.

Zi Han saw his distracted appearance and shot a hole through the wall. A loud bang rang in the air startling the man.

“Look at her!” spoke Zi Han through gritted teeth, “You killed her. You might have not done it yourself but you drove her to her death,” said Zi Han his eyes getting darker and darker like something evil was brewing within him.

“These three girls went missing with only two of them found. Their bodies were found discarded in the ditches of the lower district. You did that. They had a chance before you came in and cut off their life source before their lives could even begin. You did that... so why should mercy be granted to you.”

“Why should the lives of your victims perish yet you live comfortably in a prison cell? Your family wouldn’t even let you suffer. Sure you might spend the first year in the dungeons of the Netherworld but after that when the heat cools you would be transferred to a more comfortable prison cell living a comfortable life. To me... that punishment isn’t equivalent to the crime?”

Tears fell at the corners of tyoung master Croft’s eyes crying like a baby. “I, I don’t... I don’t want to die. Please...,” he said but all his cries were nothing in Zi Han’s ears. In fact, it was very irritating.

With a loud bang, Zi Han shot the man’s leg while asking, “When they begged what did you say to them? You said cry all you want but no one will save you.”

The man curled up holding his leg that had a hole in it. “I deserve a second chance,” he said in between gasps but that only made things worse.

Zi Han roared in laughter before he pulled the trigger and shot his arm. “Second chance... second chance are you fucking kidding me? You didn’t kill or hurt one person accidentally. You purposefully harmed twenty five young boys and girls four of which died because of you. There is no second chance to speak of.”
