Ten Years of Yearning. My Love, Let Me Protect You.

After the doctor came, he started to check her carefully. "Doctor, she wants to drink water. Can I give it to her?" the nurse asked.

"Yes, you can but give her a little."

"Ok."  Then the nurse called some maids to help her to hold Luo Lixi. 

With their help she fed her some water. Luo Lixi was having difficulty to gulp down. So the nurse fed her with a spoon. 

When water flowed down in her throat, she felt like she was a vast desert and this amount of water was like a drop. She needed more.

"I want to drink more water." she said 

pleadingly. 

The nurse looked towards the doctor and the latter didn't object to it. She fed her a little more.

Luo Lixi found the water very tasty. "I want to sit for a while. Can I?" 

They helped her to sit up. She leaned backwards. The nurse put a cushion at her back and adjusted her position slightly so that she could be more comfortable. 

Luo Lixi looked around the room. It didn't feel like a hospital at all. The decoration of this place was so classy and simple which she preferred more. There was also a working desk by her side,  some files were scattered on it. Someone must have been working there.

Luo Lixi knew she was in coma. She looked at them and asked, "How many days have passed since I was in a coma?"

"Nearly two months." the nurse replied. 

'At least it wasn't many years.' Luo Lixi heaved a sigh.

"Where is this place?"

"The southern area of Ming city."

"Ming city?!" She was a little confused.

"Oh! Can you tell me who is looking after me this whole time? Is he an old man?" 

'Could it be her grandpa?' she thought hopefully. Well, it was not her fault to think like that. 

The room and the environment around her were screaming 'luxurious'. If someone unfamiliar found her, they would definitely try to find her family and her grandpa would treat her like this. But she was totally wrong.

"He is a man but definitely not old." one of the maids answered her. It was Nana. She was so scared that this woman would say anything about her but she was worrying for nothing. She thought she could lie about it if they were to find out anything. There was no respect in her tone when she spoke. But  Lixi didn't mind her. 

"Where is he now? Can I meet him now?"

"He went to the company."

"What is his name?"

"You don't even know him. Who are you joking to!? Our young master is ..." she didn't get the chance to finish when the room door was burst open from the outside. Everyone was flabbergasted by the intruder.

... ...

"Boss, today you have four meetings and three appointments to attend to. Also, some projects need to be discussed urgently."

"You're trying to stuff me with work?" he said in a deep tone. It was a statement, but also a question.

"It's not my fault. Also there are tons of work awaiting you in company."

"..."

"Also...cough! Mr Sheng will come to the company to talk to you." It was his father. He heard the rumours and worried that it was true. That's why he wanted to have a face to face talk with his son. Sheng Ruming became silent. If he could, he didn't want to confront him now.

Sheng Ruming was having a conversation with Wang Haixiao. He focused outside of the car and they talked about his schedules for today on the phone. He wanted to go to his villa early but from the looks of it, it was impossible. 

'Ring ring'...Suddenly one of his bodyguards' phone rang up. There was a call coming in from the villa. It was a call from that Huang guy. The man picked up the call,

"Yes, chief."

"Give the phone to the boss."

That man turned around and told him, "Boss, chief wants to talk to you."

"Hold on a second." he told to Wang Haixiao and took his phone in his left hand. Then took the other phone in his hand. He placed it by his ear and asked worriedly, 

"What happened?" He told them to call him only if there was an emergency. Fifteen minutes hadn't even passed since he came out to go to the company yet they called him.

"Boss, miss has woken up. Earlier the nurse has brought that doctor to her room. Several maids also went there. I checked and saw she is awake."

"..." it took several minutes to register it in Sheng Ruming's mind that she had woken up. He grabbed the phone tightly in his palm. 

Veins became visible in his hand. Wang Haixiao also heard it. He was happy to know the news. 

Ji Yanli was beside him and he placed a hand on the phone to cover it up. Then he looked at her.

"She has woken up." He told her while smiling. But Ji Yanli gave him a gaze full of pity as if he was going to die.

"Hahaha! Haixiao you are dead. Hahaha!"

"What? Why are you saying that?" he became confused by her behaviour.

"You'll understand..." She laughed while going to her desk. She was waiting for Sheng Ruming to come to discuss something. But as far as she knew him, he wouldn't come today anymore.

She had heard their full conversation from first to last and wasn't a tiny bit surprised. Looking at his behaviour now, it was very normal.

Wang Haixiao removed his hand from the phone and wanted to say something to Sheng Ruming when he heard some noise from the phone.

"Turn the car. I'll go back to the villa." Sheng Ruming ordered the bodyguard in an authoritative tone. 

The bodyguard immediately made an U-turn on the road and went to the opposite direction.

'What?! Did I hear something wrong?' Wang Haixiao became stupefied when he heard it.

"Boss you're joking, aren't you?" he said carefully.

"Haixiao,  I can't go to the company. You take care of the matters for now"

"BOSS!, you're the CEO while I'm only a PA. I have cancelled many meetings for you already. Today I scheduled your time with some important figures to wrap up the urgent tasks. You should come here to the company...please." he didn't dare to sound like he was ordering him.
