Tale of a Hedonistic wizard

Chapter 371 Banned from the Spire

He just wanted a normal life. He felt like he had been so ignorant. His mother, now his grandmother, his aunt—these three women had done so much and had been strong to endure such dark times.

And the fact that they were able to hurt Angelina meant that whoever they were, they were formidable opponents. Learning that she was hurt because of him, made him so angry and yet the same guilty. Anger, that's what he had all for now.

Tchk, he clicked his tongue, feeling annoyed at the situation.

Slumping back onto the bed, Jaegar sighed deeply, thinking just how powerless he was now. It always comes down to the strength; be is anything; superior ones make the rules.

Angelina approached him, her voice gentle. "Don't worry, Jaegar. I'm still alive, aren't I?

We're working on dispelling the poison, and it's not life threatening.

It's just that they caught me off guard, and the poison seems potent enough to affect my magic circuit. But I will regain my strength. So don't put much thought into it, as I will take care of it."

Jaegar looked up at her, his voice thick with emotion. "Grandmother," he said, the word feeling strange yet right on his tongue. "I'm sorry that all this happened because of me. But be assured, I will find Mother and the ones responsible for doing this to you."

Angelina caressed his face, a soft "Alright" escaping her lips. Seeing his confidence, she chose not to dismiss his determination.

Yasmine approached them, her voice businesslike. "Now that you've sorted this out, we have things to discuss about the Spire."

Angelina held her hand to his cheek and said in a low tone, "We have much to talk to, I believe. Let's leave that matter for later."

Jaegar nodded.

Then the women of the council entered the hall led by Oceana.

Yasmine sighed; seeing their expressions, she could tell that they felt betrayed and hurt. She said, "I know that what she had done may seem as betrayal to the spire, but she had done to protect her family and you very wel know how much she tresure all of you and how important is the spire to her."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Oceana stood with her arms crossed, her voice calm but laced with an underlying bitterness. "We're deeply saddened that something like this has befallen you, Mother. Truly, we are."

Her words, though soft, carried the weight of the council's decision. "But that doesn't make what you did any less of a betrayal to the council and the Spire. You've been the Matriarch of the Coven for decades, yet you chose to hide this truth from all of us. And with the very thing that was forbidden."

There was a pause, the air between them heavy with tension. The council stood in silence, their collective gaze fixed on Angelina, who remained seated, her face impassive. She had always been a figure of power and grace, the pillar upon which the Coven stood. But today, she was a shadow of her former self, stripped of the authority she once wielded with an iron will.

Ocean's voice grew sterner, as if the finality of her words was sinking in even for her. "We acknowledge all that you've done—your entire life has been devoted to this Coven. You've built it, nurtured it, and helped make it one of the greatest powerhouses in the empire. But still, you concealed something that threatened everything we've worked for."

Angelina's lips tightened into a thin line, and she looked away, her thoughts distant. There was no anger in her eyes, only a deep sadness that settled like a fog over her features. She had indeed given everything—her youth, her strength, her loyalty—to make the Coven what it was. But all of that seemed to matter little now. The betrayal, as the council saw it, had erased the decades of service in their eyes.

"Therefore," Ocean continued, her tone unyielding, "we've decided that you will no longer be permitted entry into the Spire and no longer part of the coven. You are to be exiled from the very place you helped build."

Angelina simply nodded, not daring to meet their eyes. The sadness inside her was profound, but it was not for herself. It was for the loss of a legacy she had hoped would stand the test of time.

The Spire, the Coven—everything she had poured her heart into—was now out of her reach. And perhaps, in her heart, she had known this day would come.

The spire now, was like a powerhouse. It could stand against the legions. Though she felt sad about the whole matter, she decided that it was for the best. All these years, she had dedicated her entire life to the spire; maybe now it was her time to retire and be with her family.

Angelina looked at them, every member of the council, and she said, softly, "I know what you are feeling. I don't have any excuse for what I have done. But remember this: you are all like daughters to me, and this spire is my home, and it will be. I feel proud that I have been part of the coven for decades."

She paused her gaze on Oceana and continued, "I'm sure Oceana will guide you in the path of light and wisdom. But remember this: I will always be ready for whatever you require of me. Don't forget that you have a mother who still cares about you."

With that said, a few women approached her and hugged her as they cried. Indeed, she had been a mother to them, guiding them like no one ever did. As she embraced each woman, a sense of fulfilment washed over her, knowing that she had made a difference in their lives.

Her time has finally come to leave the spire, and seeing their tears of gratitude and love only solidified her belief that she had fulfilled her purpose there. With a smile, she comforted them and assured them that they were strong enough to face any challenges that came their way.
