Chapter 1082 The End of the Beginning I
1082 The End of the Beginning I
Everything was set in stone – or the fabric of space and reality – in no time. The Gods went into position and accessed the weave, actively draining it to pull the streams of Essence around the Beginning in different directions. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
The streams of Essence weren't severed, nor did anyone remove the Beginning from the weave. Instead, hundreds of Gods – Beast Gods, Major Gods, Minor Gods, and Demi Gods – controlled the Essence under tremendous pressure and pushed it toward the Gods who had been chosen as 'Fortress Guards.'
These Guards were deployed around the Beginning to block the Primal with their comrades' supply of Essence. The Essence filled the Guards to the brim and let them overflow. In some cases, that would have been considered problematic, but the Guards would need every bit of Essence once the Primal attacked them.
In the meantime, their allies used some of the excessive Essence, which would have filled the Beginning under normal circumstances, to use an altered version of the Weave Seal. They didn't cut the Beginning out of the weave but used the altered version to disrupt potential manifestations of fissures and most other spatial movements. Even Slipstream would consume a lot more Essence than the energy it had consumed in Michael's fight against Primal Xerx. However, that was within Michael's calculations. He was already prepared for the increased expenses for any spatial movements. The Primal stopped fighting when the weave rippled. The arrival of dozens of gods attracted their attention. However, it was only when more than one hundred gods circled the Beginning that they did something. One of the Primal tried opening a fissure to leave the place when he discovered Sleipnir and his siblings – it was the chubby Primal who'd been fighting Sleipnir head-on.
He didn't lose against Sleipnir and would have won against him if they'd fought a little longer, but Sleipnir's arrival with his siblings meant something had gone wrong. After all, Hel, Fenrir, and Jormungandr weren't supposed to be alive at this point. They were supposed to be Curses and fused with Michael.
But here they were, their appearances stable and not the slightest sign of curse power left within them. It was almost like Loki's children had never been the God Curses of Michael.
The chubby Primal, Gluvos, had a bad feeling and tried to leave, but Loki and more than a dozen other Major Gods interrupted him. They tapped into the weave's Essence and blocked the disruption of the Beginning's fabric, destroying the Primal's tactic of using fissures to move across the cosmos. In a fit of rage, Gluvos released a series of bullets made from Essence to attack Loki, but Sleipnir and his siblings destroyed them.
Loki's children spread out, their attention lingering on Gluvos. The Calamity Dragon was somewhere nearby, but his attention lingered on Primal Kytos. Kytos was slightly skinnier than Gluvos, but the Calamity Dragon's fury lingered on him. Kytos was the last Primal the Calamity Dragon saw before he was sealed in the Expanse's void. He was the first who'd receive a taste of his power now that he was back in the Origin Universe.
The other Primal looked around, their bodies coated in Essence. Weapons made from Essence formed around them, and the corners of their lips curled upward. However, they didn't look overly happy with the situation. The tension spreading through the Beginning was palpable.
"Everyone has betrayed us," One of them murmured.
"Even the cowards picked a side at last?" The second added.
"But they've picked the wrong side. That was a stupid mistake. A grave mistake." A third thundered, only for the fourth to spit out,
"Can't we just kill them all? Who cares whether the weave will change. These bastards are getting on my nerves," Kytos bellowed.
"No. We cannot kill everyone. But we can eliminate the most annoying children of the weave. There is no need for some of them to stay alive. We accepted their existence for long enough." Gluvos transformed into a flash as his words reverberated throughout the Beginning, and he appeared before Loki. He moved faster than before, after consuming a considerable amount of his Essence to push his acceleration and top speed to the limits, and was about to pierce Loki's chest when hundreds of paper-thin barriers conjured before him.
His attack was already full in motion, his right hand transformed into a razor-sharp blade sharp enough to cut through the fabric of time and space. But even that wasn't enough to cut through hundreds of Imperial Barriers.
Each Imperial Barrier was conjured with pristine Essence, unraveling the true potential of the 10-Star Soultrait and the Soul Power each of his Soultraits had accumulated at this point.
The Essence Blade pierced through a few dozen Imperial Barriers before it slowed down, forcing Gluvos to disperse the blade and transform into a flash again. If not for his quick reaction, Loki's children would have reached Gluvos, hitting him with a myriad of Laws and Authorities.
Even though Gluvos wasn't too worried about the impact of the siblings' attacks, he perceived the scarcity of the weave's Essence in the surroundings. Something was happening to the Beginning, and it wasn't good for him and the other Primal.
Someone with the power of a Primal attracted the attention from the corner of his eyes. Gluvos turned to the figure, his eyes narrowing to tiny slits when he realized who had appeared in the beginning.
"Shouldn't you be more worried about your safety? I don't think you're strong enough to kill anyone present with that kind of power," The familiar man chuckled. He smiled at Gluvos, but it wasn't a generous or kind smile. The smile on the man's lips was devious. It was overflowing with emotions like hatred and wrath, yet at the same time, it was void of any emotions.
Gluvos shuddered and returned to the other Primal, but everyone was looking at the newcomer. Everyone looked at Michael as if their eyes and full attention were drawn to him.
Michael's devious smile widened as he stepped forward, the pristine Essence of the Origin Expanse oozing out of him. For the first time since the separation of the weave and the expanse, the Essence of the Origin reunited.
It collided and ignited sparks in the fabric of space and reality, which looked like the fabric of the universe bent around Michael. It almost looked like the universe bent to Michael's will as he strode toward the Primal, his gait overflowing with confidence.
"Our safety?" Kytos snorted, "You're the one dying today!" The Primal's rang through the surroundings but it sounded like an empty threat to Michael, who disappeared before the Primal's eyes. He reappeared in their midst and unleashed the pristine Essence he had gathered in his chest.
The Essence burst out of him in all directions and swept the Primal away. Their eyes widened in surprise at the power gushing from Michael. Yet, even though they could have reacted, the Primal didn't do anything. They were hurled halfway across the Beginning and thus separated even before they could react to Michael's attack.
