Chapter 109: Plans and New System Function



[3rd POV]

Later that night, after the group had found their new room, and Gwen had massively

improved it through various runes, spells, and some minor space manipulation, the room was now bigger. As in the size of a small home big.

The girls were all cuddled up against her in their large bed specially made by Gwen, as Gwen was sitting back, thinking over what her plans for this world were going to be, and what she wanted to do for fun. She planned on staying in the RWBY universe until at least after the Vale festival, and after she dealt with Salem and the Brother Gods.

But she also knew that she needed to find something else to do during that time, as otherwise she would get bored...quickly.

'Working on making some new magic could be nice. And absorbing all the grimm around the world is a natural choice, one that will be happening either way. The power they give is pretty minimal, but when there's so many of them out there, it will add up pretty quickly. The brother God's will be dying one way or another, as they're not exactly good people. And absorbing them will be a good idea with all the power they have. As while they may not be true Gods, they certainly have more power than most' Gwen thought, as she silently stroked Artemis's hair, as she cuddled against her, a smile on the girls face as she did so.

'Seeing if the girls can finally develop their semblances is a must, as it'll be helpful for them in the future worlds I've got planned, even if the semblance is weak. But...I doubt they will be. And learning about some of the technology of this world could prove useful too, even if most of it his behind and pretty reliant on dust and other minerals native to this world. Dust is another thing I should probably look into, as they could prove useful, even if only a little bit' Gwen thought with a hum, knowing that dust wasn't particularly strong, but it had some serious potential in terms of technological development.

'Getting one type of each dust will be the first thing I need to do, preferably the most pure of them. Gravity dust being the most important, as using that, I could start producing some...interesting pieces of tech. And with the worlds I've got planned after the next one...I'll have to start producing more of the technology I got stuffing this brain of mine' Gwen thought. She knew that eventually she'd be going to Marvel comics, and a universe like that is not one that she can take lightly, especially in the case of her girlfriends. The best way to protect them, is to make technology that can help them, and teach them to protect themselves. But that was for the future.

'It's too bad that I won't be getting any real challenges in this world except the brother gods, and I doubt even they can compare anymore. Especially with all the sacred gears, authorities, and noble phantasm's I've got just waiting to be used' Gwen sighed, as she was slightly disappointed at the fact that she won't be getting any challenges in this world, besides the brother gods, and she somehow doubted they'd be much of a fight.

[Host, the system has recently unlocked a new function that may help in that regard, would you like to review it?]

Blinking at those words, Gwen stared at the words of the system with furrowed eyebrows 'And why didn't you tell me this earlier, system? A new function sounds interesting, and if it's anything like the trade up system you added, then it's probably powerful' Gwen thought, inwardly asking why the system didn't tell her of such a thing.

[It had not been fully implemented until earlier today]

'... Alright, lay it on me' Gwen thought, deciding to see what this new function was all about. [As you wish, host...]

[Congratulations, you have unlocked a new form of quest!]

'A new form of quest?' Gwen blinked as she read it, before continuing.

[You have unlocked the new quest known as "Otherworld Quests". These quests are...simple, and yet powerful, rewarding, and at times, incredibly dangerous]

[The function of this new quest is simple, you will be given quests regarding other fictional worlds that have gone horribly wrong. By fixing that world, and saving it from destruction or some other negative change, you shall receive proper rewards. There is a "Normal Mode" in which you will appear with all your powers, and a "Challenge Mode" where you will appear with only a limited set of powers. The worlds can be anything from anime, to live action, to comics. They are all AU's, so many things may be different, changed, and/or completely wrong]

[Rewards for these quests range anywhere from 25 to 1000 NL tickets and even beyond, mattering on the difficulty and how big of a problem it is. When in the "otherworld" time will be paused here, and it will be as if you have never left. All items you take from here, are taken back with you]

[The Challenge Mode version gives you higher rewards, ranging from double to 10x the rewards, mattering on the difficulty. All quests have a time limit, and should they not be completed during that time, it will be counted as a fail, and the user will return to their current world with none of the rewards]

[These otherworldly quests are constantly available to be claimed and taken on. But after completing one, you cannot complete another for 1 month]

Reading through the explanation, Gwen's grin slowly grew more and more, realizing just how incredible this new function could be. It would give her the ability to travel to universes she wasn't normally going to, and gain materials, powers, and other incredibly helpful things that she normally wouldn't have gotten.

Basically, the new function was incredible for Gwen, and potentially overpowered.

'That...is a lot better than I was expecting of the system. I think I need to stop underestimating the system so much' Gwen thought with a smile, happy with the new

function, even if there was a time limit and she'd have to wait a month to take another. Either way it was perfect for her.

'System, what sort of otherworld quests are there right now?'

Details - Thanos, the Mad Titan is threatening to wipe out half of the universe, stop him.

Challenge Mode - Stop Thanos with only the powers of Marvel Characters, oh, and he has 5 of the 6 infinity stones, and is wanting to kill the entirety of the Marvel universe now.

Reward - 750 NL Tickets.

The Chosen One | Harry Pottern/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Details - A dark, desolate version of Harry Potter, where Harry Potter, the boy who lived, has...been turned dark. Courtesy of constant manipulation, abuse, and bullying. However, he is not evil. Sadly, this has caused some side effects, one of which being Voldemort returning early...and more powerful than ever before. Stop him before he can take over the magical world, and eventually the human one.

Reward - 25 NL Tickets.

Challenge Mode - Do with only Harry Potter characters, oh, and he has the allegiance of the Deathly Hallows, and has underwent a ritual that make him nigh immortal, and he has all of

his horcruxes.

Reward 100 NL Tickets.

Save the Family | TVD

Details - The Mikaelson family is one of the most important, vital families in the TVD universe, and it's future. However, due to some...unforeseen events, Hope Mikaelson is under threat of not being born. Make sure the Tribrid is born, and stop the future threats before they can take hold. Witches in this universe are...much stronger, and more in line with what is stated in the show. Such as Bonnie Bennett making dimensions, to Qetsiyah making an entire afterlife with relative ease. All beings are far stronger than before.

Reward - 35 NL Tickets.

Challenge Mode - Do with only TVD Characters, Twilight Characters, Underworld Characters, Harry Potter Characters, and Teen Wolf Characters. Inadu is now an entity with the power to potentially destroy the world, should she take over the body of a powerful enough witch. Oh, and Dahlia can destroy islands with ease. Ah, and the God known as Ken (Basically Zeus) has now awoken and also wanted Hope dead, and he is much more like his

mythological counterpart now.

Reward - 150 NL Tickets.

Talk No Jutsu...not? | Naruto

Details - Kaguya Otsutsuki is a powerful, dangerous foe. And now she is even more of one. In this universe she is not a fool, and is far from incompetent. Having used Black Zetsu, she now knows and has complete mastery over all kekkei genkai (besides doujutsu), all jutsu, and practically every form of martial arts. Basically, she's what she had the potential to be in canon. Oh, and she has absorbed the chakra of half the world now.

Reward - 250 NL Tickets.

Challenge Mode - Do with only Naruto characters, MHA characters, and DXD characters.

Kaguya has now absorbed 75% of the chakra of the world, and has even absorbed Isshiki, who she found and killed, absorbing the man's power for herself.

Reward 500 NL Tickets.

And many many more.

In the case of the challenge modes, the user keeps all their knowledge, but cannot use the power of other characters besides those specified.

'...Damn, that is...damn' Gwen thought, reading through the selection of quests. The ones that really caught her eye was the MCU quest and the Naruto one. Both were...incredibly tempting, but...the challenge modes were dangerous, even for her, why? Because if she took those quests, then she wouldn't have all the immortality she already did, and she had...a lot of it. '...I could potentially die in these quests' Gwen thought in realization, before a small grin formed on her face, as she had one thought on her mind.

'...It's perfect'

Basically a chapter of Gwen contemplating some future plans, and then the reveal of the new

quest function.

How do you guys feel about it? I thought it'd be a good way of giving Gwen a genuine challenge, while not nerfing her or anything, and giving her proper rewards for what she does.

She'll be taking one of these quests soon, potentially even in the next chapter, not entirely

sure on that one though.

Next chapter will have more happening either way.
