Sovereign of the Firmaments

Lucas felt bad for making Beck stay in the town because not only did she have a system but she also had a Sovereign grade talent. So, compared to him, she would benefit a lot by training in the wilderness as she could tame some powerful spirit beasts.

'Speaking of taming, I should make use of my skill  'Lynx master' this time.'

In the past month, Lucas was only focusing on increasing his assassin rank. So, he didn't bother to actively look for the lynx type spirit beasts.

'While I was at it, I should try increasing my beast tamer's rank.'

With those plans in his mind, Lucas walked towards Beck and asked her to tag along with him to the 'Myriad primordial forest'.

Beck was, of course, very excited to hear that and instantly agreed to follow him.

"Let's go."

After the phantom eagle scouted the surroundings of the Silverstone town, Lucas and Beck moved towards the Myriad primordial forest on their tamed spirit beasts.

Without wasting their time on the Barren Grounds, they entered the Viscount grounds to increase their killing efficiency.

Somewhere in the Viscount grounds.

"Are you sure about the information?"

In the Viscount grounds, a group of middle-aged men and women along with two old men in the group were resting near a boulder.

Everyone was wearing almost the same uniform with slight changes.

On some of their robes, there was an insignia of two crossed hammers whereas the remaining few had 'Magic wand' insignia. 

If Lucas was here he would easily tell that they belong to the Weapons pavilion and the Mages guild just from their insignia.

"The information came from a reliable source. So, don't worry about it as I can guarantee it with my life.'

The old man from the Mages guild confidently replied to the old man from the Weapons pavilion.

"According to the intel, there are a dozen of amber elementals ono the edge of the Earl grounds. With their bodies, you can create high-level weapons and from the crystals available in their bodies, the fire mages like me can increase the magic sea and instantly replenish the magic power."

The old man explained how useful the amber elementals were to make others stop asking him any further questions.

"But the only problem is they have a minimum strength of rank 4 and their leader has a strength of low-level rank 5. Moreover, since they live in the Earl grounds, we need to lure them into the Viscount grounds before executing our plan."

He also explained a few more things and stood up from the ground before saying, "That's enough rest. Let's continue and find a secure place to lure them by tonight. So that way, we can lure them tomorrow."

The members of the weapons pavilion looked at each other and before looking at their group leader who nodded his head and followed the members from the mages guild.

As for Lucas and Beck, they started their training in the wilderness.

Unlike before, Lucas didn't focus on killing many spirit beasts; instead, he was using his short swords to increase his experience points for his short sword mastery.

When it comes to the final blow, Lucas would use the 'Vampire dagger' Aka special twilight dagger to kill them.

'Ding,

        Vampire dagger absorbed the blood from 100 rank 3 spirit beasts.

'Finally, it is upgraded.'

Initially, Lucas thought he could easily upgrade the rank 1 special twilight dagger to rank 4 in no time; however, the more spirit beasts he killed the more he understood that it would take a lot of time.

Just to upgrade its rank from one to two needed 100 rank 3 spirit beasts and how much blood he had needed to make it upgrade to rank 4 or even higher?

Nevertheless, Lucas heaved a sigh of relief that it had finally upgraded.

'Ding, 

        Vampire dagger's rank is upgraded to rank 2 and it awakens a new effect.

Just as Lucas was heaving a sigh of relief, Lucas received another system notification, making him pleasantly surprised.

'Ding,

          Item name:- Special twilight dagger (Vampire dagger).

          Owner:- Lucas.

          Grade:- Rank 2 (Upgradable)

          Effect:- 1) 20 percent increase in the attack power.

                      2) Each cut induces a bleeding effect on the target for one minute and it is stackable up to three times.

          Note:- For each bleeding effect, the target's battle prowess will be reduced by 10 percent.

          Skill:- Blood devour.

'A bleeding effect? Since 10  percent decrease in battle prowess for each bleeding effect, it will be a 30 percent decrease if I make three cuts on my target.'

Lucas was satisfied with the effect awakened at rank 2 and he was looking towards the future upgrades of the dagger, hoping he would get more effects.

"Young master, there is no good spirit beast here for me to tame and I didn't want to waste my beast slots just to finish the mission."

Just after Lucas checked the stats of the upgraded dagger, he heard Beck complain about the spirit beasts.

"So, do you want to enter the Earl grounds?"

Lucas also felt the same because there were no good spirit beasts for them to tame.

Compared to Lucas, Beck was in a hurry to tame one spirit beast because she received a system mission to tame one spirit beast within a single day.

So, Lucas suggested whether she wanted to enter the Earl grounds.

"Th…this…I am not confident."

Beck hesitated before replying to Lucas.

In the Earl grounds, the minimum strength of the spirit beasts was rank 4. Moreover, there would be a large group of them except for a few spirit beasts that liked to live alone which was equally as scary as the group of rank 4 spirit beasts.

If they work together, they could survive on the edge of the earl grounds; however, taming a spirit beast in the earl grounds was completely out of the equation for Beck.

"How about…."

"Roar"

However, just as Beck was about to say something, a loud roar resounded in the distance, making both Lucas and Beck become serious.
