Sol Vestitor: New Age of God

Chapter 17: New Class

Chapter 17: New Class

A lot of students from the school change to another school that aligns with the temple they want to join or temple that their parents part of. As result, almost everyone is new students.

In front Sol is his new student, they look like some were between 12 to 15 years old and some aren't even human. "this is no longer a high school" he thinks to himself.

Goddess Minerva is known to welcome people of any caste and as protector of those in a lower caste, and it seems that she welcomes any creature, human or non-human.

His new class has 30 students, 15 boys, and 15 girls. He can see three birds, three cats, and four dogs. Luckily, Sol doesn't need to teach them about manners or he will go bald within a week.

"Hello everyone, my name is Sol Vestitor. You can call me Mr. Sol or Mr. Vestitor, I'm your teacher and I will teach you about survival." He says to them.

"From tomorrow, I want you guys to bring your own equipment. First for those who are human or those who want to use a weapon, please bring your own training weapon, it can be from wood or plastic, but no metals" he informs them.

The student starts to talk to each other because of this. "ehm..." Sol clears his throat to get their attention.

"other than that, I want you to bring a white hooded coat" he continues.

"Mr. Sol, why do we need a coat? It can't help us at fighting" one boy cut him off.

"Ok, let's start about the class first, so you know why you need it," he says. "the key to survival isn't how to beat anyone but how not to fight them in the first place."

"Everywhere is covered in snow these days, so you can hide easier if you wear white," he told him.

a white dog boy rise his hand. "Yes? Oh.. and please introduce yourself when you ask anything" Sol say to the white dog.

"I'm Snowy, nice to know you all. Mr. Sol, my fur is white, do I need to wear a coat?" he introduces himself to everyone then turn to Sol.

"Good question, You still need a coat even if you already white." Sol started. "there is a lot of creature with their own strength, you don't know what is their power. You don't even know if you will fight someone with bloodline"

"coat may help you evade the most dangerous ability that I know and it can also keep you warm outside, so bring it anyway," he says.

Another student raises her hand, "I'm Annie, Mr. Sol, do you ever fight against someone with bloodline? What is this ability that a coat can counter it?" she asks excitedly.

"Yes, I have fight someone with a bloodline, but it was weakened so I can escape with my life. It was a snake with a basilisk bloodline. It can immobilize anyone it sees, once it looks at you then it's over"

"That's why you need a coat, so if you encounter anyone with a similar ability you can still run," he says, and everyone nod. While there is a lot of ability with more destructiveness, but Nerodia's ability is basically a cheat.

"Next is, you don't fight anyone bigger than you if it is possible," he says. "the bigger anyone is the more of their strength they can utilize, they can use their weight and size to their advantage so you will have a hard time fighting against anyone bigger than you"

Another student raises his hand "I'm Aldo, isn't a smaller person is usually faster than someone bigger?"

"No, don't think that someone big is always slow, increase in someone's body size may also make them faster. A smaller person is more agile than their bigger counterpart, but someone bigger will have an advantage in reach so you can't underestimate their speed" he says.

"This is also one of the reasons why you don't fight adult" then he looks at creatures in his class " and doesn't think because some of you are predators, you can beat any adult human. Any child predator is weaker than a normal adult creature, if a human adult has a weapon then they can beat you easily with their superior reach"

The class continues with Sol giving them tips and tricks on how to survive a dangerous situation based on his experience.

The next few days told them to spar with each other using wooden weapons and gloves. Because of the difference in strength between humans and creatures, he told the human child to fight against one another and the creature child to fight one another.

Nothing bad happened, Sol always intervene in time whenever a fight starts to be one side beating the other side.

Other than fighting he told them to practice hiding and running. He even makes them play hide and seek to train them.

Every student liked his class because it feels like they are playing games rather than studying.

By the end of the week, he makes a test for the student, one test of hiding, where he will try to find them and they need to escape from him. The other test is a fighting test, they need to fight a superior enemy in the arena without being pushed out or being taken down.

The human child needs to fight their creature classmate and the creature will fight him.

The hiding test end with a flying score, Sol can't find them even once, but the fighting test ends horribly, no one can survive more than a minute against a superior enemy.

"it looks like that I need help in teaching them how to fight," Sol thinks to himself.

While he can defend himself, he learned it the hard way and it isn't suitable to teach the student that way.

There is too much risk in real combat, his students need more practice before they are ready to fight a real fight.
