Chapter 99: Harvest
Chapter 99: Harvest
"Of course," Sakim replied with the same grin as he added, "Or are you trying to say that you are underestimating me?"
Julius suddenly felt a chill running down his spine. He immediately shook his head and bowed deeply as he replied hurriedly, "No, I wouldn't dare!"
Julius had no guts of offending the vessel. He should be thankful that the other party had taken a liking to him even if he was someone who was hated and hunted by the most due to his identity as a descendant of a certain clan from the outside world.
So regarding how did the other party know about his identity, he didn't care anymore. He was afraid that if he still pursued the matter, the other party would be angered as he would surely suffer his doom.
"Then, can I just ask why are you interested in a weakling like us?" Seeing Julius was in trouble, Sintia asked to steal the attention of Sakim from her master.
Sakim then stared at her and grinned as he replied, "You two might be weaklings, but both of you are unique. And I like keeping rare items to my collections so you don't need to worry about that."
That was it...? Julius and Sintia swallowed a mouthful of saliva hearing the other party. It appeared that he wasn't looking at their strength but at how unique they were. But it appeared as well that he didn't even treat them as living beings but only as rare items. It was as if they were already dead the moment they stood in his presence as they were ready to be put in his collections at any moment.
If the two of them could only fight back, they would definitely retaliate and not let such humiliation happen to them. But unfortunately for them, their strength didn't allow them to even give them the slightest courage. They could only stare at the other party fearfully afraid that they might anger him if they ever raised their pride even by a little bit.
"So, I will ask again, do you want to be a part of my collections?" This time, instead of being a servant, Sakim asked and replaced the servant thing as collections.
"Yes," Julius and Sintia were helpless. They could only bow their head deeply as they accepted their fate. It was not as if they had other choices though.
Sakim then nodded his head with the same grin. After which, he waved his hand and two beads of blood appeared in the midair. It was, of course, no other than the Blood Manipulator Pill!
Perhaps, it was because of his awakened power or anything, but this time, Sakim didn't go through the long and difficult process of creating these Blood Manipulator Pills. He simply waved his hand and the job was done very easily.
Sakim then waved his hand again and the two Blood Manipulator Pill floated towards Julius and Sintia. The two of them, of course, had recognized this thing as they couldn't help swallowing a mouthful of saliva again. Wasn't that the thing that Sakim tried so hard to feed Julius previously? To think that they would still swallow it in the end. Surely, what will happen will happen. What will not will not.
"Swallow it," Sakim said. He could just steal their freedom or free will or anything alike but that would be boring if he did so. Besides, the two of them had already surrendered and accepted him as the one they would serve. As such, Sakim thought that there was no need to force the other party and let them suffer from his passive skill: Extreme Greed.
Julius and Sintia then exchanged looks as both of them nodded one time. After which, they grabbed the Blood Manipulator Pill floating in front of them as they put it in their mouth to swallow it. After taking a gulp, they immediately felt a warm sensation in their chests as it appeared that the Blood Manipulator Pill had immediately taken effect. They could tell that from now on, their bodies weren't theirs anymore as it would be Sakim's. And if they ever dare to defy the other party, they were more than certain that it would only spell their doom.
The two of them then stared at Sakim. But strangely enough, what they felt right now was awe and reverence towards the other party. There were even these feelings in them, telling them that what had just happened to them was something that could be deemed as good. They really wondered that perhaps, what they did right now, although it was forced, was the right choice.
On the other hand, seeing both of them, Sakim nodded in satisfaction. He then shifted his gaze in a certain direction as he immediately felt excitement.
"Now then," Sakim's Blood Servant had already informed him about it, but now that he looked at it with his eyes, he could see countless players from afar exiting the Edge Of The Forest and rushing in his direction. Harvest! Sakim could only see a huge harvest in his view. Greed Energy exuded out from him the more he thought how much would he gain this time.
"Both of you, do whatever you want. I'm just going to meet the incoming blessings." Sakim said as he ran to welcome the incoming countless players with a wide grin. If this was before, he would only stare at them calmly from afar while waiting and thinking for the countermeasure against them. But now that he was feeling the incredible Greed Energy within him, Sakim was itching to use the power and try it out against a person.
As such, while he was running, Sakim opened his mouth and said, "Steal!"
Just like what he intended before, Sakim stole the speed of sound around him as it immediately turned into an item and be transferred to his Stolen Inventory. It was in an icon of a blue card with the word 'SPD' written in the lower right corner. It was called Stolen Speed Of Sound.
Unfortunately, Sakim learned from the description that the item would not give him a permanent speed as it could only give him a huge boost of speed for one time travel. But then, since there was a sound everywhere, it wouldn't be difficult for Sakim to get more of the same items. As such, while he was running, he stole more speed of sound in the area as the sound would immediately disappear since it couldn't travel anymore after it lost its speed.
"I wonder what would happen if I steal the speed of light..." After stealing enough speed of sound, Sakim wondered about the possibility of stealing the speed of light. But since he wanted to try first the speed of sound, he put the thought as 'do it later'. After all, he was now itching to harvest the incoming blessings. And he would definitely steal everything he could steal from those people.
With that in mind, Sakim didn't waste any time as he used one of the Stolen Speed Of Sound right away. With a grin, he disappeared from where he was standing, taking both Julius and Sintia by surprise. What the hell was that speed? When did he become so fast? Even with their full speed in their peak condition, they were afraid that they wouldn't be able to catch up to that speed. To think that their master was really that capable...
But now that they thought about it, they suddenly felt a bit lightheaded. If he was that fast, then why did he still use the Angel's Wings before? Was he really that rich to waste such a precious item leisurely? Sigh, no matter how hard they thought about it, they just couldn't get what their master was thinking. Understanding the thoughts of higher-level beings was surely difficult to fathom...
In any case, although Sakim disappeared from where he was standing because of his incredible speed, it didn't mean that they wouldn't be able to catch up to his speed using their eyes. Julius and Sintia followed their gazes towards their master as they couldn't help swallowing a mouthful of Saliva again.
How could they not if the master they were watching over, with just a blink of an eye, appeared in the crowds of players? Not only that, the moment he arrived, he immediately caused terror as he stole all the life of everyone nearby, turning them into dry corpses. That was just... overkill. Because they could see as well that their master wasn't just stealing the life of those people. But he was also using Greed Manifestation on both of his arms.
Every swung he made stole many lives in the area. But Julius and Sintia could tell that it wasn't just lives alone that their master was stealing. They didn't know why, but their instinct was telling them that their master was stealing more than what the eye could see. Was this the real power of the Vessel of the Greed sin? It was just... too terrifying.
