2. Dual Classes
2. Dual Classes
Ruby focused on the normal, relevant part of their situation. She ignored the fact she'd grown something new, a huge twelve-inch girlcock that throbbed whenever she thought about her sister, and instead funneled her attention to the part of her circumstance that was relevant. The Rift. That she'd gained a class—two, actually, which was impossible.
And her semblances.
That, more than anything, broke her out of her shock. She'd entered a Rift and gained a class. That meant she'd been granted supernatural abilities. Every huntress in existence waited with bated breath on what starter semblance they would receive. Of course they did. Magical abilities! Who wouldn't be excited?
As she'd been told, focusing her attention on her class automatically provided the information she wanted.
***
Reaper
Evolution: 1
Swift and deadly, the reaper harvests the souls of her enemies, bending them to her purpose.
***
Um.
That was a little ominous. Not that strange as far as class descriptions went, though. She knew they could be dramatic. Most were.
But hadn't there been another?
***
Lust Reaper
Evolution: 1
Passionate and insatiable, the lust reaper harvests the essence of her fixations, pleasuring them to grow stronger.
***
Huh?
Excuse her?!
Pleasuring them?!
Ruby swallowed as she digested those words. But what else had she been expecting for a class called [Lust Reaper]?
"What'd you get?" Ruby asked faintly.
"[Flame Brawler]. Kinda offended it's so straightforward." She crossed her arms, which did some things to her … assets … that Ruby tried not to pay attention to.
Then she laughed. "Guess I'm simple, all things considered." She tilted her head at Ruby. "But no deflecting. What'd you get?" Her eyes flicked down to Ruby's still-hard cock, which she tried to ignore. "Does it explain anything?"
"Uh," Ruby said. "Yeah. I guess?"
"Let's hear it."
The confidence in Yang's voice managed to steady her somewhat. How could Yang be so unperturbed, even in these circumstances? She envied her; she really did.
"[Reaper]," Ruby started.
She repeated her class's description for Yang's sake.
Yang seemed confused when she finished.
"And … there's a second," Ruby said.
"A second?"
"A second class."
Yang stared blankly at her, and Ruby tittered at the expression.
"Which is impossible," Ruby said. "I know. But there's a second class. I got two of them."
"O…kay?"
Steeling herself, Ruby repeated that one, too.
Yang stared with even more disbelief.
"And your semblances?" Yang somehow asked.
Ruby had been so stunned by the class descriptions she hadn't even checked. She did so now.
***
Petal Form
Rank: F-
Description: Enter a non-corporeal form where speed is massively increased.
***
Neat. And useful. That one belonged to her regular [Reaper] class. With apprehension, she checked the semblance to the weirder one.
***
Dust Harvest
Rank: F-
Description: Slain enemies have an additional chance to drop special Dust.
***
Ruby blinked.
That wasn't that weird. And certainly had nothing to do with 'pleasuring' people.
Though, special dust? That captured her attention. She hadn't had the resources to fully pursue her hobby of weapon engineering, but even so, Dust was a big part of a huntress's life; she knew the basics. Red, blue, yellow, and green. There were subcombinations too, but special Dust? What could that mean?
"Rubes?"
Ruby jolted back to awareness. "Um," she said, eyes flicking back toward her sister—then desperately trying to ignore her exposed breasts, stomach, and more. She kept forgetting Yang was naked, somehow. Each glance hit her like the first time. "I don't even know where to start."
"Just read it out to me."
Ruby explained her first semblance, then her second. When she'd finished, lilac eyes were locked disbelievingly to her. As was fair. Two classes—it was impossible. Not to mention the weirdness of a class called [Lust Reaper]. That would've been a hard sell even without everything else going on.
Though maybe 'everything else going on' was why Yang hesitated, then nodded slowly, accepting her explanation without question.
Then again, Yang also just trusted her. As Ruby did her. There wasn't a thing in the world Yang could tell Ruby earnestly that she wouldn't believe.
She was her big sis, after all.
"Okay," Yang said, dragging the word out. "Mine's less…interesting. [Heating Up]. Guess I get stronger the more I get into a fight."
Despite everything, Ruby found herself snorting.
Yang? [Flame Brawler]? [Heating Up]? Everyone knew a person's class was a reflection of a person. Of course Yang had gotten a class and semblance like that. She wasn't surprised in the slightest.
But, wait. What did that mean about Ruby's [Lust Reaper] class, then?
She pointedly ignored the question.
Yang rubbed her forehead. She looked toward the only exit of the stone cavern they'd spawned in. While some super weird things were happening, Ruby forced her brain to kick into gear. Maybe her class—classes—had caught her off guard, but they were still in a Rift, and in danger of lurking Grimm. She had to be on full alert, else her life, and Yang's, was at risk. She was ashamed she'd lost control even for as long as she had. Even if it was excusable, considering…everything.
The two of them sobered up, almost as one.
"Does it mean anything?" Yang asked. "You having two classes? And…that?" Her purple eyes flicked down to Ruby's crotch.
To the addition she'd been trying her best to ignore. Which was a difficult task. Having a collection of new sensitive nerve endings, much less ones as eager as these, was hard to 'set aside.' With heat rising on her face, Ruby forced her thoughts away for the third or hundredth time. She would figure out that later. Life-or-death situations first.
"Has to," Ruby said. "Right? I mean, two classes? But unless you've got any ideas, I think we need to focus on the Grimm."
Yang considered her, then grunted in agreement. Her attention returned to the singular exit. The portal they had stepped through, of course, was gone.
"A Rift should've given us our weapons straight away," Yang said. "Does this mean we need to fight our way to them, instead?"
The reason they hadn't brought armor and weapons along—not that it would have mattered, with their supplies vanishing—was because a Rift was supposed to provide both. Though rarely was a huntress's outfit actual armor. Gear manifested in a huge variety of manners, and was one of the few belongings wiped clean upon Rift entry, even if a person tried to show up coated in defensive metal.
"Seems like it," Ruby said, her voice higher-pitched than normal. Despite trying her best to take everything in stride, she was struggling.
Yang glanced her way. She rolled her eyes, then bumped her with her shoulder. "Seriously, Rubes. Don't worry about that thing." Her attention flicked down, and even widened slightly, which did little to help her worrying about it. "We'll figure out what's going on soon, I promise."
Ruby wasn't so sure, but her sister's confidence, like always, was a salve. "Right," she said. "Well, seems like all there is to do is go forward."
"Into the Rift," Yang agreed. She rolled her shoulders, then settled into a more-prepared stance. Ruby seriously envied how solid she could look, despite being naked and unarmed. Her posture suggested, somehow, that even if a fully trained huntsman were to charge her, her sister would come out on top.
She's way too cool…
But after peering at the exit, Yang shook herself, as if changing her mind.
"Actually," she said. "There's not much semblance testing I can do, but you should. [Petal Form]. Try it out before we get into a fight."
Ruby blinked in realization. Seeing how the Rift wasn't forcing them deeper, they should take the opportunity to familiarize themselves with their semblances. In Yang's case, she couldn't, since it required active combat, and sounded straightforward anyway, but [Petal Form] was clearly something Ruby could call upon as needed—and thus should be practiced.
As she steadied her thoughts, she found herself growing excited. She'd gained a semblance! A magical ability that defined her path as a huntress. She'd been looking forward to this moment her entire life. She wouldn't let a hot, naked sister and a throbbing cock get in her way.
Her cock throbbed in agree—
[Petal Form]. Ruby concentrated on the ability. It allowed her to enter a non-corporeal form? Movement abilities were coveted amongst huntsman. While striking harder and faster was great too, outmaneuvering an opponent allowed a huntress's skill to shine through. And Ruby was skilled. She had plenty of insecurities, but fighting? She could fight. Was weaker than many, sure, maybe even most, from a pure power standpoint, but she was fast, lithe, adept. Hence, maybe, why her class's manifestation took the shape it had. Like Yang's [Flame Brawler] fit her, [Reaper] made intuitive sense to Ruby. Swift and deadly.
Semblances weren't supposed to be hard to activate. Focusing on the ability, Ruby summoned it to the forefront of her mind. And just like that, standing there in the dim cavern of the Rift, she activated her semblance.
The world stilled. Yang's curious expression froze—all of Yang froze. The world distilled into a silent painting. Fascinated, Ruby stepped sideways. Lilac eyes didn't track her. She circled around her sister, then released her semblance.
Repositioning had brought her a fresh perspective on her older sister's body, which was a consequence Ruby hadn't been considering.
Yang jolted. In front of her, a burst of rose petals had appeared, floating lazily to the ground. Spinning, the blonde found her standing there. Ruby waved.
"Whoa," Yang said. "Not just fast. But fast. That was instant."
"Speedy," Ruby agreed. "Pretty cool."
Ruby tested her semblance a few more times, but didn't let herself go overboard. The ability had its limits: each fraction of a second spent in the form drained an internal resource. Seeing how she would need [Petal Form] for the upcoming fights, further testing would only hurt her. Besides, they couldn't waste all day in the entrance chamber. It was time to head out into the Rift. To challenge their first Grimm.
And maybe claim their weapons and outfits? Because they'd been denied those; they should have gotten them upon entry. Of all the other strange happenings and impossibilities so far, not being given the gear they should've was low on the list—but still odd.
And disappointing! Ruby wanted to know what her outfit and weapon would look like. She'd supposed to have been given them right then and there, the moment they stepped through the Rift. Instead, she'd gotten two classes.
And a cock.
So weird…
"Good to go?" Yang asked.
"Guess so," Ruby replied. "Kinda unfair we don't even get weapons. There's gonna be Grimm, right?"
"At this point? Who knows. Be ready for anything."
After the events of the past few minutes? She was.
Together, they ventured forward, bare feet against cold stone, tense and ready for a fight.
