Chapter 44
Chapter 44
Even though Jing Yunzhao had only been practising martial arts at night, it was clear that her efforts had paid off. Before Lu Jia’s cousins could even lay their hands on Jing Yunzhao, Jing Yunzhao swept her leg out and knocked them off-balance.
Not expecting Jing Yunzhao to know martial arts, their minds went blank for a second as they stumbled back.
“My nose is bleeding! It is painful!” Lu Jia shrieked while covering her nose when the rest of them just stood there in shock.
Her shouting quickly helped her cousins regain focus while also making them angry. Riled up, they threw punches at Jing Yunzhao relentlessly.
Surprised at how far they were willing to go, Jing Yunzhao’s heart skipped a beat as she dodged a punch that brushed her ear. Her lip curled as she kicked one of them and caught the hand of another who was about to grab her, twisting it harshly.
This was completely different from the time she thrashed Lu Jia, and this was the first time in Jing Yunzhao’s two lives that she was experiencing something like this.
She could tell that her opponents were not fast and although she wasn’t going to win the fight easily, she wasn’t losing badly either.
Lu Jia’s cousins were furious as they had never seen a girl fight back like this before. Additionally, Lu Jia kept adding fuel to the flame by continuously complaining about Jing Yunzhao. How they wished they had a knife so they could end Jing Yunzhao’s life quickly!
The oldest amongst Lu Jia’s cousins was over twenty years old. Being young and strong and taking advantage of the fact that Jing Yunzhao was outnumbered, he quietly picked up a rock from the ground and threw it at Jing Yunzhao while she was fighting Lu Jia’s other cousins.
The boys were so focused on the fight that they stopped thinking straight, but not Lu Jia. She saw her cousin pick up the rock and felt her heart skip a beat.
It was a rock with sharp edges – anyone hit by it would definitely be badly injured, if not killed.
Lu Jia was just a teenage girl after all and was worried about the consequences, but it was too late to stop him. Either way, looking at Jing Yunzhao’s annoying face made her not want to stop him.
The rock landed on the ground after a loud thud.
“Cousin!” Lu Jia screamed, stunned to see one of her cousins falling to the ground with his head covered in blood.
When Lu Jia screamed, her cousin who threw the rock was stunned too when he realized what had happened. He looked on in disbelief, his hands trembling.
He was certain that he had aimed the rock at Jing Yunzhao but by dodging, she had put one of his cousins in the direction of his throw!
He definitely saw it! Jing Yunzhao knew that he was going to throw the rock at her. She knew that the rock would hit one of them if she dodged, but she did it anyway while sneering at him.
She did it on purpose!
The boy who had been hit was lying on the ground, blood gushing out of his head as he grew weaker.
Lu Jia grabbed her phone with shaky hands but her cousin snatched it away from her.
“We are not calling the police! I would be doomed if we did, my whole life would be doomed!”
It was the cousin who had thrown the rock. He would definitely be arrested if they called the police!
“Please, we have to! He is dying,” Lu Jia cried, tears running down her cheeks. She had never been this afraid in her life.
She had four aunts and their sons were close to each other despite not being real siblings. What should she do now that one of them forbade her to call the police? She couldn’t let her cousin bleed to death!
Meanwhile, Jing Yunzhao who had been watching everything coldly turned and walked away from the scene.
“You can’t leave!” The boy who threw the stone shouted agitatedly.
Jing Yunzhao stopped walking and turned to look at them with a sarcastic smile.
“It was you who killed him, you who picked up the rock and threw it at him!” The boy yelled maniacally.
