Chapter 252
Chapter 252
Holy shit! Brett shouted, eyes glued to the incredible scene. He wasnt the only one. Everyone gazed at Astrid in disbelief and shock.
Its not enough, Astrid said. She hadnt gotten the notification for killing it. It was just as she had thought, the monster that plagued their world wouldnt die so easily.
From where its head once was, the mangled flesh grew anew. It wouldnt be long before a new head was born. But, the monster of the deep ocean started convulsing. Astrid focused. It was coming from within its chest area.
Astrid's mind raced as she observed the spectacle before her. The mighty Leviathan writhed and thrashed in agony, its attempts to vocalise stifled by the absence of a head. Instead, the sound of tightly contracting muscles grinding together filled the air.
The sound of slicing was just barely audible over the magical attacks flying overhead. If Astrid wasnt focused on the beast, shed have never heard it

Its dead? Low contribution? But she didnt see anyone else attack it
A bloodied figure emerged from the titan's gaping neck, draped in gore. Steam billowed with each breath, while burn marks adorned his entire body, resembling an eternal warrior escaping the depths of hell.
Daniel? Lisa shouted, tears forming at the corners of her eyes.
Bloody hells! Brett jerked forwards, as if wanting to bolt forward and rescue him. But his chances didnt look good. He was surrounded by enemies on all sides.
To the front, nearest Astrid, were the ordinary troops they had replenished. A lot of them appeared to be of neighbouring islands; most likely having accepted the promise of untold riches. Just behind were the remaining elite troops brought from the Migrators side. Then there were the Seven, or Six, now, and the last remaining of the Order.
Daniel wouldnt live for much longer. He was utterly exhausted. Astrid could only detect a flicker of life within him.
Astrid, Brett shouted Youve gotta do something!
Wewe cant! Leena said through gritted teeth. Hes behind a mountain of troops!
Astrid had already made up her mind. But her father made the first move.
Raising his hand, he addressed the last remaining citizens of Rebirth, his golden hair billowed in the wind. His eyes displayed grandeur. Citizens of Rebirth Kill!
Astrid felt a burning energy surge within her. She blasted forwards faster than any cannon could shoot its payload.
Lord Sinwen spared no ounce of his strength as he chased her. The entire world buzzed with static electricity as Astrids father joined her in brutal melee.
Summoning her void-blade, Astrid twirled like a spin-top, decapitating bodies in a storm of blood. Wherever she went, eyeballs flew along with her, like a tornado sucking in any debris in her wake. Her clone split off from her, throwing a deadly ball of void into the midst of the enemy forces. Half a second later, the ocean shook from the intense impact. Creating a residual black hole, it sucked in those who couldnt battle against its pull.

Lord Sinwen arrived in front of a member of the Seven in a flash, electricity trailing from his eyes. The man in his path wore the same long, navy uniform adorned with gold that all the other members did. With short hair and eyes riddled with surprise, he tried leaping backit was too late. Lord Sinwen clutched the mans throat. One moment he was alive, and the next his entire body was vaporised in an instant.
A highly concentrated fireball slammed into Lord Sinwen. Most of it was ground down from the field of electricity around him, but the intensity of the attack still collided into him, sending the lord hurtling through the air.
Somersaulting in mid-air, he regained control.
Just like that, Lord Sinwen had erased another member of the Seven from the world.
Astrid dodged an incoming blade by a hair's breadth. She saw the attacker: one of the Arch-Bishops of the Order. There were only 2 of them left, and one was right in front of her.
Get out of my way, Astrid spat as she yanked out his eyes. Blood spilled, followed by his head exploding in a mess of gore.
Her eyes widened. A Leviathan Offspring attacked Daniel. It swung its savage blade in a wide arc, aiming to decapitate Daniels head from his body. The spawn was cast in fury, its way was lost with its parent dead. So it did only what it knewto kill.
Astrid bit her tongue, then blinked in front of Daniel. Before the blade could even dig into her barrier, Astrids skill: Graviton Field ground the attack to a halt. Astrid responded with a powerful Crash, obliterating the creature into a bloody mist.
More attacks arrived, but her father arrived to block them. Casting a glance to Daniel, she saw how rough his injuries were. It looked like he was almost cooked alive. It must have been hot within the stomach of the Leviathan. To have lived there for a month Astrid couldnt believe it.
Little lassie, Daniel said weakly, a small, weak smile emerging from his lips.
You got your revenge, Astrid said, smiling.
I did Daniel coughed up blood. He continued, his voice scratchy, The others are going to give me a right good earful, arent they?
You bet your ass they are.
Ill be glad for it. But, were going to die here, arent we? Daniel asked as he gazed upon the battlefield.
The Grand Elders blotted the skies with their attacks against the Order and the Seven. Not only that, but the Pope was gearing up for yet another attack while the others defended him. He was readying himself for something special.
It seems like youre not with the programme, Daniel, Astrid said with a smirk.
Activating Overload: Killing Intent, and raising it to 100%, her body transformed in an instant. The pale flesh covering her hand and wrist turned a pitch black, as did her hair that grew longer, and rose into the air. Claws formed from her nails, her teeth sharpened to points. It was as if she had evolved into something else, something monstrous.
An arrow pierced the air, rocketing towards her. Her psychic energy flared, distorting the air in a haze. The arrow couldnt even reach her before it disintegrated.
Internal Engine thrumming to life, mana in her container rising into the air like a turbulent storm. It gained the attention of everyone on the field. Daniel looked at her in shock.
The moment I stepped foot out of the Dead Seas, I had no intention of losing this fight, said Astrid as she moved forwards so fast, that not even Daniel could follow her path. She appeared in front of the Seven flame wielder, and plunged her hands deep into his chest.
Incredulously, his eyes reflected her eerie smile, and then, Astrid pulled. With the sound of muscle and flesh tearing, Astrid ripped him apart.
She ignored the levels she had received, although the experience given wasnt as much as the Leviathan had given hershe instinctively placed all the points into Intelligence before continuing to the next opponent.
He was an Arch-bishop of the Order. He was vigilant. That was good, perhaps he could offer her a good fight. The man with long flowing robes and a curling moustache displayed his expertise. Despite Astrid being faster than him, he kept up. He blocked a rocketing sword strike from Astrid, diverting it to the side.
The air from Astrids swing tore open the mans robes, displaying a grand set of illustrious armour underneath. Astrid recognised him. He was an elder belonging to one of the noble families. He had betrayed humanity.
Groaning, he said, Oh how much youve grown, Astrid.
Piss off, Astrid spat, speeding up her attack. She Crashed the air all around the noble, not giving him any chance to fight back, or run away. Psychic attacks from the flank, her blade from the front. Astrid made quick work of him. It took 45 seconds from start to finish, but to Astrid, it wasnt quick enough.
The enemy's side seemed a notch above the Grand Nobles in strength, and that was ignoring the fact that they were also outnumbered. Only her father, Lord Sinwen, was capable of standing up against the Pope and the enemy forces.
Not only that, running Overload at 100% was literally killing her. She couldnt keep this going on for much longer as she felt her insides, and her mind, turning to mulch. She was feeling her mind slip.
Astrid had to work faster.
However, just as she was about to continue her attack, the entire world violently trembled. The ocean stirred, bubbles rising from the depths as if a volcano had just erupted from deep below.
They were running out of time.
