Chapter 94: The cost (Edited)
"Oh, I don't care about the money. I want you!!", said Kent pointing at Axel.
"Me?", asked Axel in a surprised voice.
"Yes, you. I want you to train my 3 girls. I mean my daughters."
"Really? But why do you want me to train them? You are much more qualified to do it."
"No. I feel that I may not be around them when they grow up. You are a good researcher and from the looks of it even a better trainer. So I want you to train them and don't let them stay from their path. My girls are only 1 year old now. So, you don't have to care about them for at least 6 years. But after 6 years, you must train them. That is my deal.", said Kent.
"Ok, I will train them after 6 years.", said Axel shaking Kent's hand
Axel didn't have any problems with that. He would get a secret method from the most powerful gym leader in the Kanto region without any cost. He was having the best day. He got a
Magikarp with brown potential and now the methods and resources with almost no cost. Axel was having the time of his life.
"There are 2 types of materials. I want you to use the first one for about 15 days and then another for 1 month. When Magikarp evolves, it would have a dual typing that is water and flying. The first one only contains the materials for water typing and the next would be a combination of both.
I have given you the end solution by combining the materials. They consist of splash plate, mystic water, sea incense, sharp beak and other items. Just use them until it evolves to Gyarados. You could also get more resources if you need them for free. Just give me a call."
"Thank you so much."
"Don't mention it. Now are you planning to challenge my Gym?" asked Kent with curiosity.
"No, I first want to challenge Pewter city gym."
"Oh, so you would go for Flint first. I must warn you, he is pretty though."
"Thanks. I would challenge your gym last"
"Really now!!! This is the first time I have heard of a trainer challenging my gym last. I like your attitude"
"Thanks..."
They talked for a few minutes and then Axel left.
The reason any rational trainer chose to challenge Kent first was due to the difficulty. If they challenge Kent last, they would face him as a master trainer with a least 1 Pseudo-King ranked Pokemon but if they Challenge him first they would face him as an intermediate trainer.
So, Axel's decision to challenge Kent last showed his guts.
Axel opened all his Pokeball to introduce Magikarp to his team. He now had 7 Pokemons. He could use all the Pokemon when he is in the wild but had to deposit one when he enters a city. This restriction would be lifted when he reaches the Intermediate trainer.
Magikarp was easily accepted into the team. Magikarp seemed to be a Pokemon who wanted to get stronger. For all its life, it had heard how weak it was. So, it wanted to improve itself.
Axel found that good. It would be easier to train Magikarp. Axel opened the booklet that Kent gave and read through it.
The method of Kent seemed logical and good, unlike those Magikarp Candies.
The method was:
1. To feed Magikarp the material which seemed like a red cube 3 times a day.
2. Once in 2 days, you would have to let Magikarp swim in the water.
3. You would want Gyarados to have tough scales, so let it use Splash as much as possible and other physical moves as much as you could if it has any. Remember, if it doesn't know other physical moves like 'Tackle' don't waste your time teaching it.
4. And let it stay on the ground as much as it can. Magikarp is a fish Pokemon but it could stay on the land for a short amount of time. The more it can stay without water, the more powerful it would be after evolving into Gyarados.
The method seemed simple and logical. And it didn't seem so hard to execute. Axel could let Magikarp use 'Splash' and 'Tackle' as much as possible to make it have touch scales.
Now, coming to the main topic. Axel had to evolve Shedinja and Beedrill to rare-ranked Pokemon. He first thought that it would be enough for one of them to evolve but the warning of Kent said that it would be too risky.
He planned to cross the forest, train his Pokemon, and fight as many trainer battles as he can. He wanted to grow stronger and faster. He was now going to start his gym battles.
"Flint Harrison, here I come!!!", shouted Axel raising his fist in the air.
