Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Chapter 25 First Gift.
(Desmond POV)
This is something that I noticed on my first night in the Serefia forest, the small supply backpack that I brought with me was quite well equipped, not only were there some useful foods and objects for life in the forest. Gradually taking things out of the backpack, I found a beast repellent, blankets, a first aid kit, fire-lighting equipment, a whetstone, and last but not least a sewing kit.
It was not the first time I saw one, Claire has always been spoiled by me in the past; so I learned many things to make her happy. Among them, in addition to cooking and many other things, was sewing; I used to do all kinds of things for Claire.
It’s just that I didn’t understand what the heck I would use a sewing kit in the middle of the forest for. At this moment I can say that guy of the past is a fool, look at me now; I’m giving a gift to cheat . . I mean to take care of my cute companion fairy.
The general idea was not complicated at all, cut a small rectangular portion of the rabbit’s fur, fold 2 cm from the edges inward, I sewed those portions with a simple technique; that way I got the centerpiece of my little project.
By folding the part I just got, the most basic shape of a pillow starts to become obvious; for the stuffing, I got some breezy cotton and fluff from the small aqua rabbit skins I got earlier.
Regarding breeze cotton, on my first day in the woods, it was one of the plants and things that I recorded in the hunter’s book after fleeing the Skyr Ventis massacre; on the way, I searched and collected some plants that seemed useful. Back then I didn’t give them much importance because they can’t even be considered full-blown magical plants.
.....
That said, it should be clear why I didn’t even bother to mention it above, despite that; In this moment of need, this cotton breeze proved that nothing is useless in this world.
With the filling finished, I proceeded to sew the edges to finish the soft velvety pillow that made Kyuru’s eyes sparkle so much. The girl gives herself away as the lazy-natured creature that she is; only a lazy person would be so excited for a pillow. To her disappointment I was not finished, the final details were missing, inspired by what happened during the modification of my bow gentle-fox; I decided to add an aesthetic touch.
Use the aqua mana crystals from the tips of the Great Aqua Rabbit’s ears, looking at the upper corners of the pillow; for the bottom use a pair of small aqua rabbit horns per corner, placing them with the base of the horns touching each other.
The result of my hard work was a soft-looking velvety white pillow with two antique arrowhead-shaped gems in the top corners and two blue gem crescents in the bottom corners. The entire object screamed luxury and softness despite its small proportions. At only 40 cm long and 25 cm wide, it was a very small pillow for an adult person; but it made the perfect bed for a fairy.
Satisfied with my work, I used analysis on it hoping that my speculations were correct.
I knew it, it is possible to create magical artifacts relying only on elemental affinity and the artistic concept of design; although according to the additional notes if I had some magical craft technique the result would have been better. Even so, this checks the assumptions I made while observing what happened before with my bow, it does not allow me to create godly artifacts, but at least I can do some things on my own.
Mmmm what do I put on it. . . oh I know!
I certainly have a talent for this, when I gave Kyuru the pillow (Now bed) and explained to her that I gave it that name so that she could always sleep protected in my embrace; she squealed with delight and did all kinds of aerial acrobatic movements until she calmed down.
′′ Thank you Desmond it is a precious gift, you are the best Desmond. . . I love you very much. ′′
Muack!
After giving me a quick kiss on my cheek the now embarrassed fairy flew off at top speed, she lay down on her new bed and proceeded to pretend to be asleep.
′′ It seems that I also received my first gift′′ I said as my words made the “sleeping” fairy blush.
I lied, this was not the first gift she gave me; her true gift and the greatest she could ever give me was. . . Bring me peace.
