Paragon of Death

Chapter 161

161 Chapter 160: Blink’s security

Damon shot forward like a shooting star while the others chased after him. Their eyes were filled with confusion and worry as they chased after Damon. For some reason, Damon was agitated and no one knew why. They could only follow him silently since he is currently the strongest in the group.

Swoosh!

Damon flashed through the sandstorm following the path set aside for them. After traveling for over an hour he could clearly see different colors symbolizing the scents of people who have once moved through this path.

“They have been here!” Damon said as his eyes dilated while revealing a green flash. He grinned cruelly revealing his fangs as he looked toward the path ahead.

The closer they got to the enemy the stronger the presence of the ancestral earth elemental dragon. He could feel the pair of savage, reptilian eyes pinned on him. It seemed to ignore everyone else and only focus on him.

“Kill me? Is that what you want? It’s all good because I will become a demigod before you get revived. Then I will show you the strength of the humans you look down on but first, I will deal with those two pests who want to ruin the name of the hosts!” Damon hissed

Pa!

A slap from Elsa was enough to turn Damon’s cheeks red. His eyes widened as the fierce glare vanished and he strangely calmed down. He wasn’t normal! Somehow the ancestral earth elemental Dragon had evaded his mind and enhanced his rage, almost running him mad.

“Thank you” Damon muttered while his body shivered with fear.

.....

If he didn’t have people around he would have been blinded by his rage and fallen into some sort of trap.

“Quite tricky...” Gin said thoughtfully. His cold gaze shifted from the distance to Damon before he spoke again.

“That’s okay, let’s move together. Clear your minds and don’t let any negative thoughts linger” Gin said before walking past Damon.

Quickly the team followed Gin and they traveled for another half an hour before they reached a new location.

It was like a massive sinkhole with sand surging down toward the center hole. Watching sand run down the hole, people felt reluctant to move in since they felt a bit unsafe but Damon walked past them and jumped into the sinkhole!

Xiu!

Damon felt through it and fell even deeper. He was thrown into what looked like a dark cave and after falling for a few seconds Damon finally hit the ground!

Crack!

A bone-shattering sound could be heard as he fell on one knee which made him frown at best but that wasn’t his main concern. His eyes lit up as he threw his open hands in the air above him and a strong surge of wind exploded from his body breaking the descent of his teammates present.

Pa!

Damon soon let them go by deactivating his magic before catching Elsa.

“I am the one with the immortal body so I should always be the one to test things like this out. Wait for my signal before moving in” Damon said calmly and others nodded in agreement.

If there was a trap they would just be adding to Damon’s burden by jumping in before he gets ready to help them through it.

“Damon!” Cyrus said as his eyes turned fierce and his eyes darted around the darkness surrounding them. He could sense countless life energy signatures surrounding them.

“I know,” Damon said casually as he shot a glance towards the darkness around them and his eyes revealed a red flash.

“There is no need to worry... Why do you think we travel this far and long and we haven’t met a single magic beast? Magic beasts are more sensitive than most humans and cultivators. They can smell the power of death from me and they are completely terrified. You have no reason to fear them” Damon said causally since he was already used to it.

It has been a long time since he noticed the change that has taken place since he acquired the death magic. Damon realized it was something like a repellant for magic beasts and other strange-looking beings.

Without hesitation, the team began advancing through the only path lit up in the entire dark room.

....................

Back in the blood mountain, Blink ran through the forest with a silver dagger in his hands. His eyes were like a pair of silver stars shining brightly even in the day!

Swoosh!

Blink’s eyes furrowed as he quickly turned and with his dagger he slashed the stone hurled at him in two!

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

More stone cane hurled at him and Blink responded by throwing his hand forward creating a silver shockwave!

Boom!

Countless stones were blown out of the way while the few that hot past, narrowly missed him. One piece of stone brushed past his face, cutting his left cheek and causing it to bleed.

“If you think this will be enough to stop me then you must be joking!” Blink said with a fierce look in his eyes.

For someone who was always cheerful and playful around Damon, this was another side of him no one has ever seen.

Soon sound steps could be heard as numerous goblins emerged from the forest and Blink revealed a cruel smile while he tightened his grip on his blade.

He took a step forward with a cruel smile on his face before bursting into a full sprint and the goblins responded by charging at him as well

Swoosh!

Blink threw the silver dagger at one of the goblins but the goblin ducked to the side, allowing the dagger to fly past him!

Xiu!

Just as the dagger blew past him, Blink appeared with the dagger in his hands while still in mid-air.

Splash!

Blink spun violently, blowing past the goblin and his head flew into the sky with blood squirting out of his headless corpse.

Buzzz!

The small army of goblins stopped and turned back with fear in their eyes as they watched the headless corpse fall to the ground. Their eyes turned to rage as they turned their attention to Blink who stood beside the corpse with the bloodied dagger in his hands.

“It was reported that a few kids from my master’s empire descended the blood mountain and came here but never returned. I could have easily let my big uncles come here and destroy everything but as my master’s successor, I will kill every one of you here. None of you will leave this place alive” Blink said with an emotionless look on his face.

With Damon gone, he believed it was his responsibility to protect the people of this place. When he heard the news and saw the weapon’s parents he was enraged and asked Cassius and the other members of the true blood to let him deal with this.

Strangely they agreed!

“He is strong... very strong with strong combat talent. If his defect is fixed he will be the perfect heir to the death mage but why did you let him go on something so dangerous alone?” Roselle Blood was standing on the clouds with the other members of the first bloods. Her question was directed to Cassius Blood who allowed Blink to deal with this alone.

The decision shocked the three of them as well as they wondered if their comrade didn’t know what would happen if Damon returned and found out his disciple got hurt.

“Hmph! Do you think Damon is not a cautious person? Why do you think there are only about nine hundred thousand soldiers around the blood mountain? Why do you think we are yet to see Brandon Bloodhammer amongst our undead soldiers? Or can a spirit realm undead expert vanish so easily?” Cassius asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I thought the death mage left with them for his own personal security?” Logan Blood answered with a slight frown but Cassius laughed off his answer as if it was the most ridiculous thing he has heard.

“Death mage? Needs security? This is the first time I have heard this. Look at that boy and look into his shadow, you will see an entire army of undead soldiers standing ready to defend him should his life truly be threatened!” Cassius said with a frown.

Buzzz!

Everyone present was stunned when they heard this and they turned to Blink with a hint of shock in their eyes. They all knew Cassius was the one with the best sensory skills and perception amongst them but they didn’t think the gap was so large that he would notice something like this and they wouldn’t.

While they only saw Blink and his normal shadow, Cassius saw Blink’s shadow expand in a circular shape with countless eyes all gazing at him and the other true bloods in the sky.

These undead soldiers gazed at the other members of the first blood as if they were a potential threat to the kid. It shows one thing and one thing alone!

Damon didn’t fully trust the true bloods
