Chapter 235: They Didnt Simply Come Here to Learn Swimming

To successfully pass the end-of-term swimming exam, Mei Fang needed to intensify his swimming practice. He talked to Guo Yun about the gym’s swimming pool, and she invited them to try out the pool where she was working out.

Guo Yun mentioned that the swimming pool offered a free first visit, and if they liked it, they could get a membership.

The gym was conveniently located near Jiangcheng NOHS, so after discussing it with Xia Yuan and Lin Youxi, they decided to give it a try over the weekend.

The day before, Xia Yuan and Lin Youxi went to a nearby mall to pick out swimsuits together, one of the few occasions Mei Fang didn’t join them. He took advantage of their absence to enjoy some single-player video games at home.

On Sunday, after a meal, the trio headed to the gym where Guo Yun was working out.

Mei Fang had noticed that Guo Yun’s family situation had improved recently. In middle school, she had been quite frugal, but her spending and tastes had noticeably upgraded since high school, indicating a significant improvement in her family’s financial status.

Guo Yun had been looking forward to this first meet-up after their New Year gathering for quite some time. She arrived at the gym early and greeted them enthusiastically at the entrance.

“Long time no see!”

“It’s been nearly half a year.”

Having seen Guo Yun’s determination during last year’s gathering, Xia Yuan wasn’t too surprised by her physical transformation. Guo Yun was no longer even remotely overweight.

She was wearing a crop top under her jacket, revealing a bit of her midriff. Faint muscle definition could also be seen on her abdomen.

Xia Yuan smiled and patted Guo Yun’s shoulder, “I could recognize you immediately this time. Your figure looks amazing now, you even have abs!”

Lin Youxi asked, “Guo Yun, now that your figure looks great, how long do you plan to keep training?”

Guo Yun noticed where Mei Fang was looking and quickly ran over in panic to block the view, waving her hands.

“Don’t look too closely! These photos look like mugshots, they’re pretty bad.”

Mei Fang had always had a fondness for his former deskmate whom he couldn’t take care of in his previous life, and he was genuinely happy to see her transformation.

“I think they look great! They’re proof of your hard work and transformation.”

“Hehe…” Guo Yun scratched her cheek, a bit embarrassed. “It wasn’t something I could have done alone…”

“Yun Yun, no need for humble words. We all know very well,” Xia Yuan said sincerely to Guo Yun. “You achieved this through your own hard work, not just because of someone else’s encouragement. Don’t be shy to admit that.”

Yuan Yuan sure is full of fighting spirit today.

Since earlier, both Lin Youxi and Xia Yuan seemed to harbor a bit of jealousy towards her, and Guo Yun could definitely sense it. Although she never intended to compete for Mei Fang’s affection, being seen as a potential threat by these two amazing girls, who Mei Fang treasured deeply, was already a great honor and encouragement for her.

The group reached the entrance to the swimming pool and then separated at the gender-specific changing rooms. Once inside, Mei Fang noticed that the shower area had no partitions, and the men walking in and out of the showers were all unabashedly naked musclemen, which made him, a southern boy, feel quite uncomfortable.

After a rather uncomfortable shower, he found that not many people were swimming, with females far outnumbering males. The pool was spacious and well-lit.

Mei Fang tested the water with his hand and then confidently got in. As he was acclimating to the buoyancy in the shallow end, he saw the girls entering the pool area.

His gaze was immediately drawn to them.

Mei Fang had seen Xia Yuan and Lin Youxi in their school-issued swimsuits before. After all, they had modeled them for him before their first swimming class. Although those swimsuits were plain, solid-colored one-pieces that covered a lot, Xia Yuan and Lin Youxi’s figures were still very attractive. Guo Yun, standing nearby, clearly hadn’t anticipated this kind of showdown today. She wore a very plain athletic swimsuit, which, apart from being form-fitting and showcasing her well-toned body, was a very healthy choice of attire.

When Xia Yuan first saw Mei Fang, she intended to wave and greet him loudly, but on second thought, she withdrew her hand—she seemed a bit shy. Lin Youxi, however, calmly walked over to Mei Fang, slowly lowered herself into the water, and sat on the edge of the pool, showing her back to Mei Fang.

“Ah Fang, what do you think of my swimsuit? Does it look good?”

Mei Fang answered reluctantly, “It looks good… but it’s a bit too revealing.”

“Why are you saying the same thing as Yuan Yuan?” Lin Youxi smiled at Mei Fang, “She said this swimsuit doesn’t look like something a high schooler would wear.”

“It really doesn’t. It’s too mature!”

“So that means you don’t like it?”

“That’s definitely not what I meant!”

At this point, Xia Yuan also walked over, and Mei Fang immediately activated his balancing skills to praise Xia Yuan:

“Of course not, we were just talking about how your swimsuit is also——”
