Chapter 132 - Getting Out of the Mist of War
Han Feng noticed Xiaofeng as well. He recognized him at a glance from Xiaoxue’s form as a magic mount and Xiaofeng’s unchanged clothes.
He turned back to escape as if he had seen a ghost because he knew he was no match for Xiaofeng. What’s worse, his name was red now, which meant if he was killed, there would be a great drop. Thus, he escaped without thinking.
However, he could not outspeed Xiaoxue just like the last time and was caught by Xiaofeng in one minute. Behind him was Mist of War, thus, he had nowhere to escape.
“Don’t come here! I’m not a man to be trifled with!”
Han Feng drew back one step nervously, almost near the edge of the Mist of War. He swallowed and shouted at Xiaofeng.
“Don’t be scared. I’m a gentleman; I won’t use force.” Xiaofeng showed a bright smile.
“Then why you block my way? I no longer mess around Treasure Pavilion, so, how about we go for our own business now.”
“I’m here to ask you for a favor.” Xiaofeng had no intention to give way to Han Feng, which made the latter, under a red name, very nervous.
Having one’s name red was no joking thing as it meant that one would suffer double punishments and might lose some of his equipments if he was killed. Han Feng did not want to end up like that.
“What favor?”
“You have a great speed, so, go to check the condition in Mist of War for me,” said Xiaofeng.
“What! You want me to seek for death? No way!” Han Feng yelled on hearing the words as he thought he would definitely be killed after entering the Mist of War.
“Seems that you will turn me down.” Xiaofeng shook his hand disappointedly, and with a wave of his hand, he added some BUFF to himself and changed his weapon to the golden mace, which was a warning.
“Wait, wait!”
Han Feng waved his hand immediately to stop Xiaofeng from launch attacks. He rolled his eyes and knew that he had no choice anyway, but if he tried his luck in the Mist of War, he might survive.
He had no intention to fight with Xiaofeng, who was indeed a tough guy as the number one gamer among all in Huaxia District. He had learned of his power.
“Damn! You win! I give up.”
Han Feng gnashed his teeth as Xiaofeng drew near, and turned back in indignation. When he entered into the Mist of War, damage texts rose up over his head but were soon covered by the heavy black mist and could not be seen.
“What happened?”
Su Tingting asked Xiaofeng when she caught up with him, confused by the sudden leave of Xiaofeng.
“Nothing.”
Xiaofeng shook his head and looked around the Mist of War, making sure that Han Feng did not sneak out from the other side, as he thought Han Feng was a man who would likely do that.
“Any idea on how to complete the mission?” Su Tingting continued to ask and did not pursue the previous matter.
“Seems we have to break in.”
Xiaofeng answered, shaking his head and staring into the Mist of War. There was no white light rising, which meant that Han Feng was still alive.
He was incapable of protecting himself or making another choice now, so, he had to try such a hard way. If even him could not make it out the Mist of War, few could complete the mission.
“If it’s our only choice, let me try then. I’m hunter, better at Agility and speed than you. Unfortunately, we can’t ride a mount inside, otherwise, I can break through it with Dahei,” said Su Tingting, who had prepared Health Potion of the Intermediate level.
Advanced Riding could be used in battles, but not in the Mist of War, which had a restriction of the use of the mount. Xiaofeng had learned of it from the previous tries, otherwise, he would have reached the core area of Dark Land in few minutes riding Xiaoxue at a full speed.
“No, I’d better go myselves. I may hold on longer than you with my healing skills.”
In no way would Xiaofeng let her go. He was possibly more agile than her and could recover fast from the drop of Health Points in the Mist of War.
“Okay, I’ll be here waiting for you then.” Su Tingting thought for a while and agreed with him.
“Okay, be careful.” Xiaofeng nodded and reminded her. Those who had made it to the outside of the Mist of War must be powerful and skilled, such as the shooter of level 15, and Han Feng. Xiaofeng was worried that some of them would start a malicious Player Killing against Su Tingting when seeing her alone.
“Don’t worry, I’m not a duck soup.”
Su Tingting patted her plump chest and set up a Trap of Frost and a Trap of Vine. Besides, she also had an Advanced Riding, Dahei, which she could use even in a battle, so, she could make a quick escape.
As Xiaofeng stepped into the Mist of War, he could see nothing but dark. Meanwhile, damage texts kept flashing over his head.
“Hey! Affected by the Mist of War, your Health Points will drop by 1 percent per second.”
“Hey! The Health Points you’re losing are doubling per second due to your divine attribute.”
“-8!”
“-8!”
“-8!”
…
It seemed not much of losing several Health Points evey second, but the area covered by the Mist of War was so wide that it would not only take dozens of minutes to pass it, and the longer one was in it, the more loss one would suffer.
Most importantly, during the previous tries, Xiaofeng found two disadvantages. One was that there were advanced monsters, some of whom were even at level 30, hidden in the Mist of War; the other one, even worse, was that due to his divine attribute, he would suffer double harm in the Mist of War.
That was to say, he would recieve the harm twice as much as that of the normal gamers, which was really terrifying.
Xiaofeng ran fast in the dim mist, on alert for the danger that might catch him at any time. Though not at his full speed, he was still fast.
However, in no more than 30 seconds, Xiaofeng’s Health Points had dropped by half. Receiving double harm caused his Health Points drop so fast.
Xiaofeng used holy light to increase his Health Points to full and consumed a bottle of Water for Purification to recover his Magic Points. After that, he headed on his way in silent.
For every 30 seconds, Xiaofeng would lose 240 Health Points, but at the same time, holy light would add him with 160 Health Points, Water for Life would add him with 50, while Mandala Sachet would add him with 10. As a result, his Health Points did not drop so sharply, but at a decrease of 40 points every minute.
Besides, Xiaofeng could use the therapeutic scepter to reduce the cooldown of each holy light by 3 seconds, which meant that using holy light ten times would earn him an extra right to use holy light once. That was to say, for every five minutes, more 160 Health Points would be added to him.
In other words, for every five minutes, Xiaofeng’s Health Points would drop by only 40.
With more than 390 Health Points at the moment, Xiaofeng could hold on in the Mist of War for 50 minutes before losing his life, which proved his great capability of surviving.
As for Life Blessing, he could not use this skill at the moment as it would have some adverse effects, such as increasing his lifespan and causing him to lose more points
However, it turned out that Xiaofeng had been too optimistic. Holding on for 50 minutes was an ideal, and the reality was that he encountered several advanced monsters and was chased for some distance.
He, thus, could not use his skills in an orderly way, and about half an hour after he entered the mist, he only had 50 Health Points.
“-8!”
“-8!”
“-8!”
…
His Health Point was reduced to zero in seven seconds, and the cooldown of holy light and Water for Life had not passed, so, he could not use them.
“-8!”
“-8!”
“-8!”
…
Xiaofeng’s Health Points stopped dropping when there was still one point left. Meanwhile, the damage texts that flashing over his head became blue.
The Circle of Life of his immortal equipment, earring, helped him. It could make his Magic Points work as Health Points when the latter was cleared, and when both of two kinds of points were cleared, he would die.
This relieved Xiaofeng much. The immortal equipment was indeed powerful. Now, he only needed to use Water for Life and Water for Purification to regain 100 points, with which he could hold on again. However, this skill could not help Xiaofeng to full his Health Point bar because he would lose Health Points instead of Magic Points when being attacked, and even if he took elixirs, they would only be wasted but not taken in.
Nevertheless, under the help of the immortal equipment, he could use his 300 Mana Points as Health Points and could hold on longer.
However, the ring of system prompt caused him to frown.
“Hey! You’ve entered the core area of the Mist of War. Your Health Points will drop by 2 percent every second.”
“Hey! The Health Points you’re losing are doubling per second due to your divine attribute.”
“-16!”
“-16!”
“-16!”
…
For the first time, Xiaofeng found that there was a disadvantage to his divine attribute. His Health Points began to drop at a terrifying speed, and both of his Health Points and Magic Points were dropping sharply at an unstoppable trend.
Xiaofeng remained silent. At the moment, he had no choice but ran forward, casting all caution to winds and hoping that he could get out of the Mist of War before he lost all his points.
He had been marching for an hour and the prompt also said that he was in the core area, which meant that he was near the border of the mist.
However, before Xiaofeng could make his way out and when there was only darkness before him, all his Health Points and Magic Points dropped to zero.
“Hey! You have no Health Points now, you’re killed.”
“Hey! Sacred Body activated, you’ve been revived and will not suffer any punishment of death. You can only use this skill once each day and it will be reset 24 hours later.”
The next moment after Xiaofeng’s points went zero, the bars of his Health Points and Magic Points all became full.
Xiaofeng still remained silent and headed forward. He had not expected that he would be killed there and forced to use reviving skills. If he could not get out there with his revived life, he would have to accept his first death and go back to the city.
Before he could run far, a light caught his eyes and lit up the dark place brightly.
“Hey! You’ve found the City of Gloom! Fame points +100!”
