Chapter 106: Poisonous Moths
Chapter 106: Poisonous Moths
After listening to Yao Ran's words, Grandpa Quan smiled and nodded quickly, "Good, good, good. I will ask my grandson to bring you something else to pay for your service."
Since Grandpa Quan only sprained his ankle, Yao Ran gave him simple acupuncture treatment to break down blood clotting and promote blood circulation. After she was done, she sent Grandpa Quan downstairs.
When Yao Ran opened the metal door leading to the 20th floor, Quan Yuanwei was already waiting there anxiously.
As soon as Quan Yuanwei heard the sound of the door opening, he turned around and hurriedly supported his grandfather. He held Grandpa Quan's arm and asked, "Miss Yao, how is my grandfather's condition?"
Seeing his anxious look, Yao Ran calmly explained, "Don't worry. Grandpa Quan only sprained his ankle and had some bruises. I had already given him acupuncture treatment to dissolve blood clots and promote blood circulation."
"Should I bring my grandfather back here tomorrow?" Quan Yuanwei asked again.
Yao Ran shook her head and said, "You don't need to bring Grandpa Quan back. Just apply hot water to the swollen area and massage the bruise with medicinal wine twice a day. The injury should be healed within three days."
After listening to her explanation, Quan Yuanwei's anxious heart finally calmed down. He smiled and took out the jade pendant.
"Miss Yao, this is payment for your help."
Yao Ran glanced at Grandpa Quan, then looked at Quan Yuanwei and said, "The treatment is very simple. Just give me a pack of instant noodles."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Hearing this, Quan Yuanwei was stunned. He looked at Yao Ran and remembered that the other residents called her a female devil, but to him, she was like an angel.
Before natural disasters hit the world, the average doctor consultation fee per visit was about 500 yuan to 1,000 yuan. Even in the current situation where food is very valuable, charging for a pack of instant noodles is too cheap.
Seeing his surprised expression, Grandpa Quan patted his grandson's hand gently and said, "Miss Yao agreed to change the jade pendant to something else."
Quan Yuanwei came back to his senses and nodded blankly. After a moment of silence, he said, "Miss Yao, I will send the instant noodles over in a moment."
Yao Ran didn't really need that pack of instant noodles and nodded in agreement.
After seeing the two of them off, Yao Ran closed the door and went home for breakfast. She only ate two compressed biscuits yesterday, and she wanted to eat something delicious. Sitting in the living room, she sent her consciousness into her space. Yao Ran looked at the shelves filled with delicacies and decided to have a bowl of spicy beef rice noodles, two scallion pancakes, a tea egg, and a cup of soy milk.
While she was having breakfast in the living room, something suddenly hit the tempered glass surrounding the balcony.
Bang! Crash!
Yao Ran was startled by the sudden crushing sound and almost choked on her food. She quickly drank the soy milk before going to check what happened.
Standing on the balcony, she saw a dark red stain on the outer layer of the tempered glass. Before she could take a closer look, Yao Ran saw a dark cloud approaching at an extremely fast speed.
Feeling a bad premonition, she quickly took out a binoculars and looked at the horizon.
The moment she saw the black clouds' true form, Yao Ran's eyes trembled. She quickly put on her coat, rushed out, and knocked on the door of unit 2002.
"Long Yu! Open the door! Long Yu!"
A few seconds later, Long Yu opened the door and saw her pale face. He quickly asked, "What's wrong?"
Yao Ran hurriedly said, "Don't leave your home! Close all doors and windows, and seal all the ventilation!"
After saying that, she rushed over and knocked on the door of unit 2001.
"Jia Xiang! Open the door! Hurry up!"
She waited for a few seconds and saw Jia Xiang opening the door.
Jia Xiang looked at Yao Ran's pale face and was shocked. "Yao Ran, what's wrong with you?"
Yao Ran didn't have time to explain to Jia Xiang, so she hurriedly said, "Close the doors, windows, and ventilation! Don't leave your home!"
Before Jia Xiang could react, Yao Ran ran back home, locked the door, and blocked all the holes and vents. After she was sure that there was no leakage, she walked quickly to the balcony. Through the binoculars, Yao Ran saw the black cloud getting closer and closer.
Two minutes later, the three layers of glass covering the balcony were already covered with dense moths. Yao Ran's scalp went numb.
These moths look very strange. Their wings have red and black horizontal stripes, similar to the patterns on pythons.
They have stingers about ten centimeters long on top of their heads, bulging round red eyes, and faces that look compact and weird-as if they had been run over by a car.
Their bellies are plump and covered with thick, sharp hairs, and all of them are as big as an adult's fist.
Yao Ran had never encountered such a moth in her previous life. She felt uneasy, held the binoculars tightly, and closed her eyes.
A few seconds later, Yao Ran opened her eyes and took out the protective suit from the space. She put it on and prepared to go out to catch moths and study them.
Since she had never seen this kind of moth before, she needed to collect information. The
most direct method was to capture and dissect the moth.
After making sure that she was well protected, Yao Ran opened the metal doors. The moment she opened the last metal door, hundreds of moths flew inside at once.
A second later, Yao Ran reacted quickly. She closed the door, took out a bottle of insecticide, used half of the bottle, and killed all the moths.
Before she could take a breath, the death moth quickly turned into a puddle of dark red liquid.
