Chapter 78: Serious Fight
Now it was getting out of hand. David no longer needed to hold the wheel of the car.
The car was now heading towards a deserted area, a newly built area that happened to have workers on holiday.
When David's car finally came to a stop, David found absolutely no one else around.
This church troop seemed to have strategized in such a way.
After that, they finally got off the bus, immediately surrounding David's car.
They were led by two men, who looked a little older, in their early 30s. One was very fat while the other was very thin with a tall build.
Although a bit worried, David didn't feel scared.
He then got out of his car because if he didn't, his movements would be severely restricted.
"Do you want to capture someone or go to war?" David asked their two leaders while glancing left and right.
After trying to count, he thought there were more than 40 of them.
"You're wandering around in a sinful place, so we need more people to catch you. It's a good thing you left or we would have come with a hundred men," the fat man replied in a tone that sounded like he was angry.
"Your name is David, right?" The thin man said. "You've done violence to ordinary people with your power, and we've seen the evidence. Surrender and follow us to the Vatican to receive your punishment. You will be put in the prison of light for one week."
David didn't know what a prison of light was. It sounded like purgatory.
He laughed and shook his head.
After that, he made a fist with his right hand.
Instantly, dozens of lightning bolts emerged from his body, surrounding him like they were living creatures protecting him.
"Hmph, I expected that he would fight back, heretics are always arrogant. Austin, let's show him the holy power of the Deities," said the fat man.
"Carson, you go to the other side," Austin replied.
Their names turned out to be Carson and Austin.
Whoosh!
Suddenly Carson's fat body glowed. He then jumped. While he was very fat, his jump reached ten, went over David's head and landed about five meters behind him.
"Attack him," said the fat man.
He and the others then pointed their cross sticks at David.
At the same time, their mouths seemed to be mumbling.
David didn't know what they were muttering, perhaps they were praying because their expressions seemed solemn.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Suddenly, a chain with sharp edges appeared in front of each of them. Some chains were bigger than others. The chain that appeared in front of Carson and Austin was even the size of a man's thigh.
They all immediately moved quickly towards David.
Despite being prepared, the attacks from over 40 chains made David feel difficult.
These enemies turned out to be really strong.
Even David had trouble finding a way to escape their attacks.
Shua!
He sent a bolt of lightning to the foremost chain.
Although the lightning bolt was only light, it managed to push the chain up.
David then chose to step towards the chain since the path there was open.
He moved quickly, arriving in front of one of the church members.
His expression instantly became panicked as David appeared in front of him, he muttered faster so David heard the names of various gods from his mouth.
Right after that, he saw a golden-colored shield of light in front of the man.
It became clearer with time, and would probably actually be a real shield.
At this point, David finally understood more of the concept of their power. Their power indeed did not come from their bodies, but from the nature around them.
David gathered many lightning bolts in his fist so that his fist was no longer visible, completely covered by lightning.
Without holding back, he sent his fist into that light shield before it became clearer.
BANG!
His fist turned out to be much stronger, the light shield shattered instantly.
It then slammed into the man's chin, producing a bone-cracking sound.
After that, he was blown away, falling among the rubble. David couldn't guess whether he was alive or dead.
However, David couldn't rest easy as many chains almost hit his back.
.
If those chains had pierced his back, he probably would have died.
The good thing was that the men didn't seem to be planning to kill him, just capture him.
The chains tried to wrap around his body.
This time he chose to jump into the air, landing on top of a small building.
"You won't be able to run," Carson said in a loud voice.
When David looked up at him, he found that the man and the others were slightly floating in the air and moving towards him.
"Do you think I can't strike back!" David grunted in response.
He raised his hand, gathering lightning in the air.
In a short time, the lightning became huge, forming the head of a tiger.
It was quite shocking to Carson and the others.
"Son, whose blood have you swallowed?" asked Austin, looking angry. Perhaps now he guessed David used the blood of a more powerful deity.
"You're doing too much heresy," said Carson.
"Eat this!" David paid no attention to their words. He sent the tiger-head-shaped lightning bolt at them.
Whoosh!
It moved quickly, lighting up the air so that day seemed to become brighter.
As it approached them, Carson and Austin actually looked panicked.
The latter waved his hand to the other church members.
After that, the chains suddenly disappeared, but then a huge golden shield of light appeared above them. It even instantly looked like a real shield.
To David's surprise, another shield of light appeared above the first one. It seemed that they wanted to create a layered shield.
Of course, they didn't have time to make more shields.
The tiger-head-shaped lightning struck the second shield, destroying it directly before it hit the first shield.
The eyes of everyone under the shield widened, seemingly not expecting that the power of the lightning had such a powerful destructive force.
BANG!
The shield didn't shatter, but it instantly became full of holes.
Some people were hit by lightning strikes, falling instantly until they looked helpless.
The few survivors hurriedly stepped back including Carson and Austin. They were only half left.
Actually, David was also surprised by the power of his attack.
With his strength that could be said to be still small, his attack turned out to have a much greater destructive power than could be predicted.
