Chapter 303 - The Real Mission Was Just Starting
Qin Weizhe pulled out his walkie talkie and whispered into it. "This is Qin Weizhe. We have already arrived in front of the warehouse. The distance is approximately 1300 meters from the base. Number of casualties and injured: none. Sui Chenyou is in their hands and I suspect that they are trying to kill him. I repeat, Sui Chenyou is in their hands. Over."
Electrical buzz and rustle sounded, followed by Jin Renguang's low voice. "Received. The secondary team is on their way. The pathway is clear. Proceed with the plan and caught them red handed. Over."
"Received. Over. Members of General Crime, be on stand by. As soon as you receive my signal, we will break through the door."
"Roger!"
For a while, Sui Chenyou's muffled screams and grunts of pain rang out nonstop. Luo Ning grimaced. He couldn't imagine what kind of cruelty the other man was going through right now.
Ten men in bulletproof vests and black helmets blended with the dark terrain. They surrounded the warehouse, complete with guns and knives.
All of a sudden, the door swung open and two men stepped out. One was buff and quite short, while the other was bald with a horrendous skull tattooed on his cheek. Short Man grunted as he lit up the cigarette. "I hate going through this kind of thing over and over again."
"We have no choice." Tattooed Man answered with a mocking yet sympathetic snicker. "We have to get rid of him as soon as possible. How dare he go and cooperate with the police? Even if I am given ten times the courage, I still don't dare to mess with Boss' son."
"Well, he's kind of an idiot and simple so it's no wonder that he's the one whom the police caught first. We should bury him quickly. I heard that a new tenant has just moved into the house."
"Huh? When I passed by yesterday, it seemed empty though."
"Hush, don't take the risk!" Short Man dropped the cigarette and stepped on it. "How is it? Have they finished preparing the materials?"
"Let me ask them quickly." Tattooed Man had just wanted to enter when the door slammed open from inside. Coming out was another man, he had a look of panic and apprehension.
"What's wrong?!" They asked warily.
"The...The surveillance cameras we put around the mountain." He blabbered in panic, incoherent. "Some of them are broken and I saw—"
Qin Weizhe's eyes sharpened and he gave a long whistle. Now!
Ten vigorous police officers rushed out in an instant like mighty lions brandishing claws. The three men didn't even have the time to react—no, they hadn't even had the chance to see who the assailants were when they were knocked out cold. The whole situation was resolved in less than one minute, their movement was clean, neat and brutal. Even more, it was completely soundless.
Luo Ning, who stumbled in his step causing him to come last, coincidentally saw his comrades' cold and cruel eyes that didn't lose out to the mafia. His knees instantly trembled and if not for his familiarity with them, he would have been scared shitless.
…Oh my God, would he be required to be this ruthless and savage in the future? Luo Ning cried inwardly. Even if he was given a lifetime, he felt like he wouldn't be able to do it!
"Are you okay?" Qin Weizhe approached him worriedly after they dragged the bodies into the woods.
Luo Ning nodded with an obviously forced smile. Qin Weizhe patted his shoulder in comfort. They crouched down under the window as Qin Weizhe popped his head out and peeked in through the ajar door. The first thing he noticed was the thick smell of gunpowder and nauseating stench of blood that assaulted his senses.
He wrinkled his nose and held his breath. The light in the warehouse was dim and there were a lot of stacked cargos. A twitching figure laid on the ground, blood soaked his body. It was Sui Chenyou whose fate was unknown.
Hushed conversation came from deep inside the warehouse where it was obscured by the cargos. Nevertheless, the front coast was clear and it was evident that the three men earlier were tasked to guard the door.
Less than one minute later, the SCI Squad's members arrived and found three unconscious men laid defenselessly under the bushes. They each gave a kick and joined Qin Weizhe's group, almost surrounding the warehouse from all sides.
Qin Weizhe calculated and raised his palm, pointing toward four other men and him. He gestured with his head and mouthed, "Three, two, one—"
Five men rushed inside and hid in the shadows, their footsteps soundless as the space they left behind was instantly filled with other members. From Qin Weizhe's position, he could see Luo Ning staring at him worriedly. He gave the younger man a firm smile and turned to inspect the surroundings.
The faint conversation travelled to his ears and he scooted closer to eavesdrop better.
"That man surnamed Sui isn't dead, right?"
Laughter rang out. "Dead or not, is there any difference? He will be buried in the end."
Four men were inside, mixing cement and gathering some steel bars. Qin Weizhe observed as they put the steel bars together in criss-cross to form a barrier. So that was where the smell of steel and rust came from. He could imagine it inside his head. The body would be put between the wall and the steel bars then cement would be applied before it would be covered by bricks. This was done in order to allow some oxygen to remain.
How cruel. His jaws clenched rigidly, cold lights flashing through his eyes. They really didn't intend to give Sui Chenyou a quick death.
The four men were engrossed in their task and didn't notice anyone coming in. Perhaps they had gotten used to doing it for years and left unscathed, causing them to lower their guard.
The corner of Qin Weizhe's lips tilted into a chilling smile.
...Right, it was better this way. This would make everything easier.
Qin Weizhe made eye contact with the member who stood closest to the door and gave two signals.
Seize Sui Chenyou. Then, everyone could come in.
The real mission was just starting and the night was still long.
