Chapter 299 - Hellish Life
Nowadays, Ruo Tingran felt like she was living in Hell. Whenever she thought of her previous life where she had people revolving all around her, playing and shopping whatever she wanted, she always got the urge to cry.
After leaving China, their family of three settled in Vietnam in a rented house. It was a very shabby house, even her room was smaller than the bathroom in her previous house. Everyday, her father would leave home early in the morning and return late at night, drunk and wasted. And then, he would start to act violent.
When night arrived, Ruo Tingran could hear her father's furious holler and her mother's pained cries. She would huddle under the blanket, shivering and trying her best to suppress the cry. She would also lock her room so that her father wouldn't be able to find her. She knew that only the sight of her face was enough to infuriate him, so she opted to hide behind her mother and let the latter bear the brunt of his wrath instead. Only when her father went to sleep did she dare to go out of her room and help her mother up, treating her wounds tremblingly.
"I'm sorry…I'm sorry, Tingting." Mother Ruo, with her eyes swollen and bruised lips, muttered sobbingly. "Please be patient okay? Your father isn't originally like that, he is only angry nowadays that his business doesn't go well."
Ruo Tingran lowered her head and hummed in response.
Exactly where had she gone wrong?
How could everything turn out like this?
Ruo Tingran gritted his teeth, her eyes blazing with hatred. Shi Nian…it's all because of Shi Nian! If she didn't exist, then Ruo Tingran would still be the prestigious lady of the Ruo Family! No one dared to cross her except for that bitch! Now, Shi Nian had completely ruined Ruo Tingran's life and left unscathed. How could this be? Unforgivable. Ruo Tingran wouldn't forgive her!
She vowed that she would return to exact her revenge!
What was Shi Nian compared to her? She was only a poor dirt, two faced bitch that went around seducing men! It was her who should have experienced the hell that Ruo Tingran was going through right now!
It was unknown how long Ruo Tingran endured such suffocating days. Until one night, her father returned earlier than usual, sober at that. There was a huge smile on his face. "Come on, we should leave right now. I have some connection with the authoritative officials here and they have promised to cover us so that we can escape. We are going to South Korea right now! Pack your things! Hurry, hurry up!" He babbled while throwing his clothes haphazardly into the luggage.
Mother Ruo, still with spots of bruises in her face, revealed a hesitant expression. "Will it be okay?"
Father Ruo spat out hatefully. "If you want to stay here, then stay!"
Ruo Tingran overheard their conversation and hastily went to pack her clothes. Actually, she hadn't put out much of her things so it only took a little time for her to finish. Wearing comfy clothes with her face covered by a mask and glasses, she dragged her huge luggage out. When Father Ruo's disdained eyes fell onto her, she shrunk her neck fearfully and hid behind Mother Ruo.
Mother Ruo patted her hand. "C—Come on, we should quickly go."
Father Ruo clicked his tongue and all sorts of profanities slipped out of his mouth, saying how they were such a burden and how daughter was useless compared to son. Ruo Tingran stared at his back, fire of hostility burning in her eyes.
There was a small inconspicuous car waiting outside that brought them directly to the airport. The driver was a black middle aged man that spoke Vietnamese. Father Ruo put on a flattering smile and replied in stutter, but it was obvious that the driver held him in contempt, yet Father Ruo kept on licking his boots.
It was repulsive to see. Ruo Tingran squeezed her mother's hand, ansty. "M—Mother, will it be okay? Everything will be fine right?" Days of running and hiding had eroded the confidence and arrogance in her bones. Right now, she was no different than a terrified rat, trying to hide under the sewer to hide from the eyes of predators.
"It will be okay…" Mother Ruo comforted yet her worried expression betrayed her thoughts.
The airport was desolate with only a few people walking around. Practically nobody would pay attention to them because there were many immigrants that took shelter here. Ruo Tingran tightened her coat and dragged her heavy luggage, her heart racing faster by each second.
More similar people welcomed them inside the airport. All black with muscular build, scars and tattoos were seen on their exposed arms. Just one glance told her that they were all dangerous people. The gaze they threw toward her and her mother made Ruo Tingran uncomfortable.
Chills ran down her spine and she huddled close to Mother Ruo for comfort. "M—Mother, who are these people? They don't seem right…"
Exactly what did Father Ruo go out to do everyday?!
Both mother and daughter held onto each other with the same look on their faces, frightened and helpless in face of the towering men who were leering at them. However, what if these men could indeed help them get to South Korea safely? As long as Ruo Tingran could live freely once again, as long as she didn't have to fear the police again…why should she care what kind of person they were?
She hardened her resolve that was based on revenge and hatred, firmly following behind her father's steps. Following that, the men began to speak in English and Ruo Tingran could more or less understand them. "The plane has been prepared. Bruce will be escorting you. Once you arrive there, don't forget about the payment or else…"
"Sure, sure!" Father Ruo hurriedly answered, sweat dripping down his face. "I will definitely not forget!"
Contrary to Ruo Tingran's worry, they passed the verification smoothly and entered the boarding area. But somehow, the foreboding in her heart intensified. There was nobody inside the boarding area except for them and the foreign men. Even the gift shops and restaurants were closed for service.
There were five men escorting them, one that seemed like the leader was talking animatedly with Father Ruo while the rest surrounded Ruo Tingran and her mother. She even sported one that scanned her body upside down with blatant lewd gazes that he didn't care to disguise.
Ruo Tingran felt uncomfortable all over and her heart was beating so fast it was going to explode. Subconsciously, she picked up the pace and chased after Father Ruo, trying to evade the men as much as possible.
"The boarding time is in ten minutes. After the gate opens, you may enter." The man said.
"Thank you! Please send my utmost gratitude to your Boss!" Father Ruo bent his waist flatteringly. "This Ruo will not forget his kindness! Later if Boss needs something from me, don't hesitate to ask for it."
The men looked at each other and guffawed. "Really? What if the boss wants your daughter to accompany him for a night?"
Ruo Tingran's jaws dropped. Piecing the words and the suggestive stares they gave her together, she had an inkling on what they were talking about. "No…No!" She shrieked in terror.
To her dismay, Mother Ruo covered her mouth in panic. "Tingting, don't! Don't make any sound, okay? We are so close…" She cried helplessly. "We are already so close…it's just one night. Sorry, forgive mother ah, Tingting…but you have always been a strong girl. You can definitely bear it, can't you?"
Tears streamed down Ruo Tingran's face as she shook her head vehemently.
What was this…? Just in order to escape, her mother and father were willing to throw her to some dubious man?!

A/N: Well, that's karma for ya~~
If you forget, I have briefly mentioned before that the police and Ruo Family remained in a deadlock so although everyone knows of Ruo Tingran's crime, her father still have intensive network at his disposal. After the matter broke out, they lost their reputation and fled to Vietnam to avoid the police.
But seriously, her parents are so bastardly QAQ
