Chapter 82: The Eternals
Chapter 82: The Eternals
Alex's seaside villa, which he had purchased, was located at the best spot on the beach, offering the most stunning views of the sunrise. Far off in the distance, at the horizon where the sky met the sea, a radiant sun had just risen from below the ocean's surface, casting a crimson glow across the world.
Such a beautiful scene should be enjoyed peacefully, but a rapidly approaching spaceship shattered this tranquility.
Alex took a step forward, walking toward the deep sea. He was quite fond of his seaside villa and didn't want the upcoming battle to destroy it! Within the sight of his Six Eyes ability, he saw an unusually shaped spaceship speeding toward him.
The ship had a strange exterior, unlike ordinary spaceships that use aerodynamic designs; it had sharp, angular structures, with the hull covered in dense, intricate runes that seemed to power the ship.
Inside the spaceship were all the Eternals on Earth, dressed in their combat armor and preparing to avenge the death of Ikaris!
Since Ikaris's death, the Eternals' plan for revenge had never ceased.
As the strongest Eternal warrior, Ikaris being killed by a mutant, a descendant of the Deviants, was something the Eternals could not tolerate.
However, after their analysis, they realized it would be difficult to kill Alex and that they might even be wiped out themselves. So, they sought to cooperate with S.H.I.E.L.D.
But during their contact with the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Druig, who had mind control abilities, discovered that the minds of the agents were under the control of a powerful psychic force—one so strong that even as an Eternal, Druig was no match!
Uncertain about who wielded this terrifying psychic power, it was clear they couldn't continue cooperating with S.H.I.E.L.D.!
Just as they were at a loss over their plan for revenge, a green-skinned human with an unusually large head suddenly appeared before them, constantly recounting the crimes of the "White Hair" and offering to help them!
After Druig's mental probing, they confirmed that, although this human had many lies in his words, he was indeed hostile toward the "White-Haired Mutant" and could provide them with assistance!
So they accepted the help of the human known as the "Leader," leading to the current hunt for the "White-Haired Mutant"
With the weapons provided by the Leader designed specifically to counter the "White-Haired Mutant" and the ultimate mutual destruction measures, they were confident in their mission!
...
At a military base, Colonel Stryker and three doctors, including Mister Fantastic, stood in front of the satellite monitor, observing the upcoming battle.
The Leader had contacted the Eternals and provided them with equipment to counter the "White-Haired Mutant." These were upgraded versions of devices designed to suppress mutant abilities, disrupt space, and wield matter-dissolving light swords!
However, their purpose in assisting the Eternals wasn't to kill the "White-Haired Mutant." Unlike the Eternals, they understood the "White-Haired Mutant" better and were more aware of his terrifying power!
According to their calculations, even if every Eternal possessed the strength of Ikaris and used their final methods with their help, they might have a chance to kill the "White-Haired Mutant." But now, even using their last resort, they couldn't possibly kill him!
Their goal was to collect data on the effectiveness of their upgraded equipment against the "White-Haired Mutant," gather new data, and then use it to enhance the Red Hulk's strength!
This was their final plan!
In their simulations, the Eternals, to defeat the "White-Haired Mutant," would surely use the final measures they had been given, burning their lives to provide the most precious data!
And for them, as super-geniuses, data meant power!
Knowledge is power, not an empty phrase but a fact for them.
...
Alex continued moving towards the ocean, stopping about 500 kilometers away from the seaside villa.
At this distance, the upcoming battle shouldn't affect his villa.
Standing on the water's surface, he watched as the peculiar spaceship followed closely behind.
The ship went from extreme motion to complete stillness in an instant, ignoring inertia and coming to a stop.
A woman wearing green armor was the first to teleport from the spaceship to the surface of the sea. As soon as she touched the water, the surrounding sea area underwent a massive transformation!
Starting from her feet, the seawater rapidly turned to stone. In just a few seconds, the surrounding water was completely petrified, forming a brand-new island!
This Eternal woman was Sersi, who had the ability to transform matter.
Then, several other Eternals descended from the spaceship onto the island Sersi created: Thena, who could transform cosmic energy into weapons; Sprite, who could create illusions; Makkari, a speedster; Gilgamesh, possessing immense strength; Kingo, who could shoot cosmic energy from his hands; Phastos, a master craftsman wielding a hammer; Druig, with psychic abilities; and finally, Ajak, who could heal.
These were all the Eternals sent to Earth by the Celestials to protect humanity and shepherd the birth of a new Celestial!
Each Eternal represented an immense amount of power; together, they could easily conquer Earth!
Even Thanos, if surrounded by several Eternals, would surely die in a short time!
For thousands of years, they had fought separately, slaughtering Deviants to protect humanity, never attacking a single target together.
But now, they stood united against a mere descendant of Deviants—a lowly mutant. Yet, compared to them, the mutant seemed more at ease, as if the one surrounded wasn't Alex but all the Eternals themselves!
As their leader, Ajak spoke first:
"Lowly mutant, you dare to kill a great Eternal! Now it is time to pay for your sins."
Hearing Ajak's words, Alex sneered and replied:
"Great Eternals? Aren't you just tools of the Celestials, brainwashed repeatedly and sent into endless battles like pitiful puppets?"
"You!" Ajak was stunned by Alex's words. Like Ikaris before her, she couldn't understand how a mere mutant could know secrets unknown even to other Eternals!
!!!
Druig, sensing Ajak's change of expression, immediately realized that what Alex said was true!
He looked at Ajak in shock, but she stopped him:
"After we kill him, I will explain everything!"
Ajak dared not let Alex speak further. She immediately activated the device given to them by the Leader—the spatial disruption device began to activate irregularly in the ship, disrupting the surrounding space to prevent Alex from adapting and countering!
The mutant suppression device was also activated!
Then, each of them took out a light sword, emitting terrifying energy capable of disintegrating matter!
They were determined to kill Alex.
