Chapter 151: Goal

Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Goal

The flying slash sent Ronan hurtling backward. While the bulk of the attack's power was absorbed by the universal weapon, the residual force managed to pierce through his armor, leaving a gaping wound on his chest.

The immense impact left Ronan's hands numb, nearly robbing him of sensation.

At that moment, he realized the truth: his strength was utterly insignificant compared to the man before him.

This man was a warrior even more powerful than the Mad Titan, Thanos!

But how could someone so terrifying have remained unnoticed? Why was there no record of him, and how could he have no memory of killing this man's wife and daughter?

What Ronan couldn't possibly understand was how Drax had such extraordinary luck to encounter Alex, a godlike being of cosmic power who gifted him immense strength simply for amusement.

After realizing he wasn't a match for Drax, Ronan's attitude shifted immediately.

"Brave warrior," Ronan said cautiously, "you must be mistaken. A formidable figure such as yourself—I would never forget. It couldn't have been me who killed your wife and daughter!"

But his words only served to enrage Drax further.

'What does that mean? That before, I was so beneath you that you didn't even notice me?!'

The glowing tattoos across Drax's body burned even brighter, and his strength surged once more.

"You damn blue insect!" Drax roared. "I'll tear your body apart and grind every piece of you into dust!"

Seeing Drax grow even more furious, Ronan was utterly confused. 'Why is he angrier? Wasn't I trying to defuse the situation?!'

But as the realization sank in that reasoning was futile, Ronan resolved to fight. He was, after all, Ronan the Accuser, and even he had his pride.

With a fierce roar, Ronan charged forward.

And then he was sent flying again, slammed into a wall, another deep, bone-revealing wound carved across his chest.

Finally, Ronan understood. This opponent wasn't someone he could match, and if he didn't flee, death was inevitable.

Badly injured, Ronan abandoned all pretense of dignity and turned to escape.

However, against the enhanced Drax, Ronan's retreat was laughably slow.

In just 0.36 seconds, Drax executed dozens of rapid steps, vanishing from his spot and reappearing directly in front of Ronan.

The technique, Shave—hailing from the world of pirates—demonstrated its prowess even in the Marvel Universe.

With a single strike, Ronan was sent flying once more, his body now riddled with wounds. Blood seeped from his shattered armor as his strength drained away.

Seeing the fear etched on Ronan's face, Drax let out a sinister laugh.

"Hahaha! You filthy insect! I'll rip your limbs off one by one and let you die in despair and agony!"

Retrieving his twin blades, Drax approached Ronan step by step.

Each step brought a new wave of terror to Ronan, who desperately yelled at his subordinates:

"Fire at him! Kill him! Kill him now!"

Dozens of small ships locked onto Drax, bombarding him with beams of searing energy.

But Drax, whose physical body had been strengthened to levels surpassing even Thanos, was entirely unfazed. The lasers couldn't penetrate his skin, let alone harm him.

If anything, the attacks seemed more like a relaxing full-body massage.

Drax reached Ronan, placed one foot firmly on his chest to hold him in place, and grabbed one of Ronan's arms with both hands.

With a roar, Drax pulled with all his might, tearing Ronan's arm clean off in a violent spray of blood.

...

At their current power levels, Thunder God Rocket Raccoon and Drax the Destroyer were far beyond Ronan's forces.

In mere moments, Ronan was slain by the Destroyer, Drax, while most of the smaller ships were annihilated by Rocket Raccoon.

The remaining ships that headed toward Alex and the others were promptly destroyed by Star-Lord and the rest of the group. Throughout the entire fight, Alex never lifted a finger.

This was precisely why Alex had strengthened Rocket Raccoon and Drax. As a major boss, how could he not have formidable subordinates to handle the grunts?

Once all the enemy ships were obliterated, a blue-skinned middle-aged man appeared from the side. His eyes lit up when he saw Star-Lord, but he quickly masked his expression with feigned indifference as he led his crew to surround Alex and the others.

"Hahaha, if it isn't my little Star-Lord!"

Yondu stepped out from the group, approached Star-Lord, and let his expression twist into anger before punching him in the stomach.

"You dare betray me and steal my money?!

"When I brought you on board, you were just a child. Those people wanted to eat you, and I saved you from them. I raised you!"

The sudden blow sent Star-Lord sprawling to the ground. Yet, instead of pleading with Yondu, he turned to Alex and called out:

"Boss Alex! Do something! Don't you see your loyal little follower getting beaten here?"

Hearing Star-Lord's words, Yondu's curiosity was piqued, and he turned his attention to Alex.

In recent times, Yondu had been so focused on hunting Star-Lord that he hadn't kept up with events elsewhere. Furthermore, the Nova Corps had suppressed news about what Alex had done on Xandar, so Yondu was completely unaware of his immense power.

Hearing Star-Lord refer to Alex as his boss only stoked Yondu's anger further. He delivered another punch to Star-Lord's stomach and sneered.

"I was wondering what gave you this ridiculous confidence—turns out it's this guy.

"Another Terran, huh? Let me tell you, no matter who you follow, none of you can stand against Yondu, leader of the Ravagers!"

Yondu's crew surrounded Alex, ready to attack.

Star-Lord, knowing Alex's overwhelming strength, couldn't bear to see his former companions anger Alex and end up getting killed. He quickly shouted, "No! Don't attack him!"

To Yondu, however, these words sounded like Star-Lord risking his own safety to protect Alex. This only made Yondu even angrier.

He barked, "Let this white-haired kid see what we're made of!"

The Ravagers cracked their knuckles and began to close in on Alex.

Seeing the menacing expressions of the approaching Ravagers, Alex smiled.

"Hmm. You're the ones who attacked first... Your ship is mine now. Oh, and Ronan's ship, too."

...

Moments later, aboard the Ravagers' ship, Alex sat in the leader's chair, gazing down at the gathered crew.

Just moments ago, thanks to his "friendly persuasion" and comprehensive "full-body massage services," the entire Ravager crew had willingly submitted to him. They handed over control of the Ravagers' ship and accepted Alex as their new leader.

In addition, since Alex had wiped out Ronan's forces, the Ravagers' ranks had swelled considerably. Not only did they acquire thousands of smaller ships, but they also claimed Ronan's main ship and the barren wasteland he controlled.

Alex's forces had grown exponentially

This marked the first meeting under Alex's leadership as the new Ravager boss.

Having been a leader before, Alex was no stranger to addressing large groups of subordinates. Clearing his throat, he declared in a commanding voice:

"Ahem. As your leader and the new Ravager chief, I, Alex the Godslayer, will say a few words..."

One hour later...

"That's right! Within the Ravagers, we must foster harmony and friendship. Treat your comrades as family, work together, and fight as one. Only then can we achieve a brighter future!"

Alex's immense power kept everyone attentive throughout his speech. No one dared to let their mind wander.

What baffled the crew most, however, was Alex's habit of occasionally calling out individuals for interaction and even asking questions during his speech. Those who couldn't answer faced a brutal beating.

This tactic ensured that everyone paid full attention and took meticulous notes on Alex's every word.

Alex, meanwhile, found great enjoyment in his new role as a teacher.

He realized that being a student was excruciating, but being a teacher was immensely satisfying—albeit at the expense of his crew's collective misery.

To end Alex's endless lecture, Yondu, the former Ravager chief, cautiously stepped forward and asked:

"Chief, do we have any current plans?"

Alex nodded and revealed a plan he had long prepared:

"Of course. I plan to find Star-Lord's father, Ego, and use him to enhance Star-Lord's power, fully transforming him into a Celestial-blooded being!"

"What?!" Yondu and Star-Lord exclaimed in unison.

Star-Lord's voice was louder, though:

"My father? My father is still alive?!"

Yondu stepped in to answer Star-Lord's question:

"Yes, your father is alive. In fact, when you were a child, the reason I abducted you from Earth was because he hired me to."

"WTF?" Star-Lord was stunned and visibly angry. "Then why didn't you deliver me to him? You robbed me of the chance to reunite with my family! You stole my childhood!"

Kraglin, one of the Ravagers, wanted to explain on Yondu's behalf but was stopped by him.

Yondu sighed and continued:

"Your father is scum. He's traveled the universe, mating with women from countless species and fathering countless children.

"He brings these children back to him only to kill them for some unknown purpose.

"I couldn't stand to see you die, so I didn't fulfill his request. Instead, I raised you myself..."

Star-Lord was utterly stunned. Having grown up with Yondu, he could tell that the Ravager wasn't lying.

Learning that his father was a complete scumbag while Yondu had actually saved his life left Star-Lord feeling deeply conflicted.

Yondu's information wasn't entirely complete, so Alex added:

"Your father is a living planet, a Celestial whose true form is a massive brain.

"He's lived for eons, scattering seeds of his power across countless planets. These seeds wait to sprout and absorb the planet's energy to strengthen him, enabling his plan to dominate the universe.

"But perhaps due to age, he feels he's slowing down. His expansion has been too slow. So, he decided to create a child with Celestial genes to help him conquer other planets and amplify his power.

"To achieve this, he bred with women from various species across the universe, fathering countless children. But none of them inherited the Celestial gene, so he killed them all without hesitation.

"But you, my friend—you carry the Celestial gene. When near your father's true form, you'll wield the immense power of a Celestial.

"Our mission is simple: kill that scumbag father of yours, strip him of his power, and transfer it to you! Then, you'll become the strongest member of the Guardians of the Galaxy!"

"Wait..." Gamora interjected. "If he's a living planet and a Celestial, can we even defeat him?"

The others turned to Alex, awaiting his response.

Alex smirked. "Have you all forgotten what our ultimate goal is?"

The Ravagers, having only recently joined Alex, were clueless about his grand mission. But the Guardians of the Galaxy weren't. They recalled what Alex had mentioned before entering the barren wasteland.

Gamora looked at Alex in shock. "You weren't joking earlier... you were serious?!"

Even the newly empowered Rocket Raccoon and Drax the Destroyer felt their confidence waver. Despite their newfound strength, they couldn't imagine standing up to a Celestial.

Curious, the Ravagers asked, "What's our ultimate goal?"

Star-Lord grimaced. "We're going to kill gods—slaughter every Celestial in the universe until none remain!"

"WTF?!" The Ravagers were floored.

They turned to Alex, hoping for denial, but he simply smiled and nodded.

Realizing their vision was too narrow to comprehend such a monumental task, Alex sought to inspire them:

"Don't worry. For now, you won't have to fight. Just stand behind me and cheer me on.

"From this moment, the god-slaying mission officially begins!

"Our first target: Ego the Living Planet!"

---

With Nova Prime suppressing information about Alex, his feats hadn't spread across the universe.

But his exploits on the barren wasteland—killing Ronan and capturing the Kree fleet—changed that. News of a formidable figure who singlehandedly defeated Ronan and subdued Xandar spread like wildfire.

Even the Mad Titan Thanos caught wind of it.

Aboard a massive warship, Thanos sat on his throne as Ebony Maw delivered his report:

"Lord Thanos, after two years of absence, the devil Alex has resurfaced. He killed Ronan the Accuser and subdued Xandar. He's now heading toward the living planet Ego."

Thanos tapped his fingers on the throne, the sound of metal striking metal echoing in the room.

Suddenly, he stood and approached the large glass window at the front of the command room, gazing at the endless stars.

"Prioritize obtaining the Soul Stone," he said gravely. "Only then can we contend with Alex. I must fulfill my mission. This universe's resources are nearly exhausted."

Ebony Maw, though loyal, couldn't conceal his unease. Even he lacked confidence in facing Alex.

Before Alex's disappearance, he had battled Arishem, the leader of the Celestials, and escaped alive.

Now, two years later, Alex's return signified that he had grown even stronger—perhaps beyond what Thanos alone could handle.

But if Thanos could acquire the elusive Soul Stone, he might stand a chance against Alex and even defeat him.

After all, Alex had relied on a young Celestial's corpse and the power of the Infinity Stones to stand against Arishem before.

The Soul Stone had to be found at all costs.
