Chapter 1261 Spreading the Word
Chapter 1261 Spreading the Word
"…And I think that's the last of the Verdant Bluegrass and Verdant Treeslugs we have."
Finishing up what looked to be the final batch of elixirs he'd concoct for the meantime, Valyr nodded in satisfaction as he noticed the liquid within the vials take on a cool lavender color.
Chucking the two elixirs into his spatial bracelet after that, he then moved a bit closer to where Thomas was, wanting to see how the man's final batch of beauty elixirs would turn out.
Considering that the two of them had spent an entire half day scouring the outer region of the Verdant Woodlands for the materials they needed, it was no surprise that the two spent a lot of time using them up to concoct the elixirs.
Then again, even with the two of them gradually getting the hang of making the elixirs over time, due to the sheer amount of Verdant Bluegrass and Verdant Treeslugs they collected, it still took them an entire day to finally run out of it.
"…Done." Shaking up the vials he held for a bit more, Thomas looked at them with a bit of expectation, hoping that the liquid inside the vials would take on a similar color to the vials Valyr made.
Yet, even though he had improved the most between the two in terms of concocting the beauty elixir, the best result that greeted the man were two vials that had its murkiness replaced with a slight shimmer.
Seeing that the final batch of vials he made only had a slightly stronger shimmer to them, Thomas let out a long sigh before giving them to Valyr for safekeeping.
"I've already concocted these elixirs over hundreds of times already," he complained in a slight murmur. "Yet, the elixirs I end up making are still nowhere near the ones you make."
"I've already spent an entire day straight concocting these elixirs, but why does it seem like it's impossible for me to make the elixirs the way you do it?"
Listening to Thomas rant his heart out about how he wasn't able to create the elixirs Valyr did, the latter briefly had a smile on his face that was both apologetic and bitter at the same time.
'The reason behind that is because I've omitted a single important step from the process I've told you,' thought Valyr to himself, briefly glancing at the large amount of beauty elixirs the two of them had concocted.
Although the young man did teach his friend how to concoct the beauty elixirs using the materials they had, the recipe that Valyr taught him was actually considered a prototype version by the person that originally came up with the idea.
However, although he had achieved his goal of simplifying its process as much as possible, that person decided to continue refining the process even further, not minding the fact that he might make the process a bit more complex because of it.
With that, even though the prototype version was already enough to send waves throughout the world of alchemy, the final version of the concoction process was the first among the two versions to become public, leaving the world stunned at his ingenuity.
Then again, although the final version had significantly better effects than the prototype version that also became popular later on, the person that originally made it had only added a single step to the process for it to become possible.
Just infuse mana. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
With the infusion of mana, the juice from the Verdant Bluegrass would be able to fully meld with the body of the Verdant Treeslug, allowing the elixir's effects to become more condensed and powerful in every drop.
In other words, the introduction of that step allowed the elixir to go from a slightly heterogeneous colloid to a truly homogeneous solution.
'I'm sure Thomas will understand why I did this later on.' Inwardly apologizing to his friend for leaving him in the dark for the meantime, Valyr soon replied to Thomas' question by saying he just probably needed to gain more experience.
"In any case, let's head back to the village." Of course, not wanting his friend to think about the matter any further, Valyr swiftly shifted the topic to the next step of his plan. "To think we've spent two days outside the village already."
"Has it already been two days?" Fortunately, the shift in topic was more than enough for Thomas to move on, briefly taking a whiff of his body in response to Valyr's words. "Oh, damn. I stink."
"All the more reason to head back to the village, then," replied Valyr with a chuckle, to which Thomas nodded in agreement.
"Though, before we do that…"
"How about we take a picture first?"
…
"So… why did you take those pictures before we left the Verdant Woodlands?"
After trekking through the outskirts for a couple hours, the two eventually found themselves back at the village, only to then immediately head to one of the nearby inns to clean themselves up.
Using some of the drops they got from the monsters they killed a couple of days earlier, the two were able to grab themselves a fresh meal and a room for them to stay for the night, giving them enough peace of mind to do what they needed to do next.
"For the forums," replied Valyr as the two of them headed to the center of the village. "Just before we left the forest, I made a post on the forums advertising our product."
"Oh?" Raising his eyebrow in curiosity, Thomas asked back, "How did the others respond, then?"
"Well…" Just as Valyr was about to respond to the question, he soon began to hear a cacophony of voices echo from the direction they were heading.
Becoming silent for a bit as he understood what was going on, he soon glanced at Thomas with a smile before pointing at the place where they planned to sell their elixirs.
"From the looks of it, the effects of the advertisement turned out to be far better than I thought."
