Chapter 1179 The Update Arrives (1)

1179  The Update Arrives (1)

Ding!

"…Ah."

Hearing the system go off in his mind just as he finished concocting yet another batch of potions, Valyr went ahead and brought up his notification screen, only to be greeted by a notification he'd been waiting for a long time.

[Version 0.5d of Greater Beyond has finally ended!]

Unsurprisingly, he began to clench his fists in excitement the moment he finished reading the notification, briefly jumping for joy soon after.

Thinking about how he was finally able to enact and proceed with the plans he had in mind ever since the heavens gave him a second chance in this world, the young man faintly let out a chuckle, feeling a bit expectant towards what's to come.

Though, just as he thought he'd receive another notification from the system regarding the version update, Valyr instead received a series of notifications that made him think otherwise.

[Preparing for changes related to Version 1.0…]

[Initiating temporary shutdown…]

Whoosh!

For a brief moment, the young man felt as if he lost all of the strength coursing throughout his body, causing his pupils to shrink as he slightly trembled in fear.

Feeling as if he returned to the very day he appeared in Veldanyr for the first time, Valyr soon felt that the current situation was similar to the time Vaughn deprived him of his connection to the system.

'Then again, I also felt that way when he reset my level back to 1,' thought Valyr to himself, letting out a wide sigh of relief as he felt an ever familiar strength course through his body a minute after the system temporarily shut down.

Hearing a notification sound echo in his mind the moment his strength returned to him, it went without saying that the young man redirected his attention towards the notification screen once more.

Wanting to see the reasons why the system decided it was a good idea to temporarily shut down to apply its changes, Valyr was soon greeted by a long list of notifications that rivaled the ones he'd get whenever he obtained a lot of rewards from the system.

Though, unlike those notifications that mostly talked about benefits, the notifications that appeared on his screen this time acted more like packets of information.

[Applying changes…]

[Changes successfully applied.]

[Version 1.0 of Greater Beyond has finally begun!]

[The following changes have been applied due to the change in version.]

[Beings protected by the system have been introduced to the world of Greater Beyond. For the sake of simplicity, these beings are also known by the term Players.]

[Although they look the same as any other being and have access to the same avenues of gaining power like anyone else, these Players have the ability to revive themselves from death.]

[Of course, to revive themselves from death, they must pay an equivalent price. However, it could be said that there is no limit to how many times these Players can revive.]

[Due to the massive impact these Players would bring to the world of Greater Beyond in the future, these Players currently only have access to these following planets: Veldanyr, Azgares, …]

[Depending on the planet they appear in, they shall take on the appearance of the natives that are most prevalent on that planet.]

"And thus, they've finally appeared." Reading through the first chunk of notifications he obtained after regaining access from the system, Valyr faintly nodded as the notifications more or less summed up the abilities a Player had.

Thinking about what others would think after reading through the same notifications he got, the young man was soon reminded of a phenomenon that happened in his past life.

"Sooner or later, the others will figure out how to use the revive ability of Players to their advantage," muttered Valyr to himself, slightly shuddering at the memories that surfaced because of it. "When that happens, Players taking up dangerous positions will become a common sight again."

"…Well, at least the rewards greatly made up for it."

Moving onto the next chunk of notifications he received from the version update, Valyr went ahead and read through them, only to then raise his eyebrows in interest.

[With the advent of Players, the ability to create alliances has been added to the Apparatus.]

[A certain number of requirements must be met beforehand in order to register an alliance through the Apparatus. In exchange, one gains the ability to manage an alliance through the Apparatus itself.]

[To aid in the growth of Players, a few alliances on the chosen planets have been registered by the Apparatus beforehand, with the leaders of these alliances gaining access to the functions mentioned.]

"…Honestly, I didn't think establishing alliances through the system would only become a thing once Greater Beyond was publicly released." Letting out a slight chuckle as he finished reading, Valyr felt a hint of excitement at the thought of finally being able to establish the alliance he was planning all this time.

Going through his memories to recall the requirements the system briefly mentioned in his notifications, the young man soon let out yet another chuckle after realizing he'd already fulfilled half of the requirements necessary to establish an alliance.

"At this point, I just need to grab a couple more items to establish my own alliance," muttered Valyr to himself with a slight grin on his face. "But I'll have to hold on those thoughts for now."

"After all, I gotta make sure I'm recognized by the players first."

Feeling like he'd gone through all of the notifications regarding alliances, Valyr then moved on to the next chunk of notifications on his screen, only to let out a faint sigh as he realized there were still a lot more notifications he had to go through. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Fortunately, just like how the notifications regarding the alliances gave him a bit of surprise, the next chunk of notifications Valyr went through gave him quite the surprise as well.

Though, if he were to compare which chunk of notifications seemed more important to him, Valyr felt that the current chunk of notifications he was currently through would be the far more important one.

As to why that was the case…

Well, that was because the notifications all talked about dungeons and inheritances.

Specifically, their appearance en masse.
