Chapter 1167 Perks of the Tournament
1167 Perks of the Tournament

Feeling that now was probably the best time to take a look at his rewards from the tournament in detail, Valyr went ahead and brought up the descriptions of the two new titles he got.
"Hopefully the changes are a bit beyond my expectations." Looking at the screens that appeared in his field of vision, the young man focused his attention on the first screen he brought up, which contained the recently upgraded version of [Tier V Being].

[Apex Being (Veldanyr)]
Rarity: Mythic
The Apparatus appreciates your effort thus far. The Apparatus also hopes that you would wholly embrace the advent of a new era.
However, as a safety measure… most of the description has been omitted.
As the ultimate winner of the system's sanctioned tournament in preparation for the new version, the Apparatus believes that you have what it takes to carve out a path for yourself in the new era.
Effects:
> Nullification of damage received from the first five attacks of beings protected by the system
> 25% reduction to damage received from beings protected by the system
> 25% boost to damage dealt to beings protected by the system
> 5% reduction to all damage received while in Veldanyr
> 5% boost to all damage dealt while in Veldanyr
> 15% boost to Attack and Defense
> 15% boost to max HP and MP
> +15 points to all stats
> 8% boost to all stats
[Note: Some terms within the title's description are subject to change once the new version of Greater Beyond arrives.]

"…Huh." Before reading through the description of [Apex Being], Valyr expected the title to more or less function the same way it did before.
If anything, the only difference would be how prominent its effects were, considering how [Tier V Being] was five times as powerful compared to [Tier I Being] when it came to its effects on players.
However, [Apex Being] immediately broke that thought in his mind, instead halving the effectiveness of most of the title's effects when it came to players.
For a brief moment, Valyr wondered why the title would take a massive step backwards when it seemed to be the best version of the title he just got.
At first, he thought it had something to do with the fact that the title's effects now went beyond players, allowing him to deal more damage while also receiving less from all sorts of sources aside from players.
There were also the fact that the title boosted his stats a bit further than before, causing him to think that the title regressed in some ways due to equivalent exchange.
Thankfully, his queries were immediately answered once he took a look at the description of the other title he got from Scho'doxa.

[Tier I True Being (Tennaril Star System)]
The Apparatus appreciates your effort thus far. The Apparatus also hopes that you would wholly embrace the advent of a new era.
The Apparatus is cognizant of the fact that there are cases when beings from planets have the potential to go beyond their current confines; where their strength is more than enough for them to affect those beyond their own planet.
In those cases, the Apparatus permits the Arbiters presiding over the system's sanctioned tournaments to bestow upon them a title that would only become more prevalent during the advent of the new era.
Then again, such a title is something the Apparatus thinks of as a mere formality, a mere recognition of the being's ability and potential to go above and beyond.
Nevertheless, the Apparatus still considers it a step in the right direction.
Effects:
> Nullification of damage received from the first attack of beings protected by the system while in the Tennaril Star System
> 30% reduction to damage received from beings protected by the system while in the Tennaril Star System Nôv(el)B\\jnn
> 30% boost to damage dealt to beings protected by the system while in the Tennaril Star System
> 3% boost to Attack and Defense
[Note: Some terms within the title's description are subject to change once the new version of Greater Beyond arrives.]

"…Okay. That makes more sense now." With information from the second title filling his mind, it did not take long for Valyr to put the pieces together as he understood why the first title turned out that way.
"If I were to combine the two titles' effects together, I'd be able to deal 60% more damage to players, while receiving 60% less from them," muttered the young man to himself as he thought out loud.
"At the same time, I'd be able to nullify the damage I take from six attacks… as long as it's players doing it."
"…Considering the progression of the first title thus far, that all lines up." Valyr faintly nodded in understanding, only to wryly smile. "Then again, that would only take effect in the Tennaril Star System."
"If I'm outside it, then the effects the titles have on players would be halved."
"And if I'm not fighting against a player, I'd only take 5% less damage while dealing 5% more."
"…Then again, it's not that bad." Pondering over the titles' effects for a bit more, the young man eventually shrugged his shoulders in slight indifference. "I wouldn't even be able to head out of the Tennaril Star System any time soon, even if I make use of the knowledge I have to travel outer space in advance."
"On top of that, players would only be able to start freely exploring nearby outer space by Version 3.0."
With that in mind, Valyr faintly let out a sigh of relief before closing the screens he brought up.
Making sure that he was still heading in the right direction, it was only then did he take a set of bottles from his spatial bracelet, all of which contained items that people would've normally ignored at first glance.
"Time to see what kind of effects this final concoction has." Removing the stopper on the bottle containing an iridescent gold pill, Valyr had a faint smile on his face as he tipped the contents of the other bottles into it.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
One by one, the young man made sure to pour all of the contents of the other bottles into the first bottle, with the pill surprisingly absorbing it all as if it were a black hole.
Because of that, it did not take long for the final concoction to appear before Valyr's very eyes, leaving him with three empty bottles, as well as a bottle that contained viscous iridescent fluid.
"Now… what can this thing do, actually?" Putting the empty bottles back into his spatial bracelet, the young man let out a slight chuckle as he looked at the bottle that remained.
Feeling as if his body was urging him to drink the bottle's contents as soon as possible, Valyr tried his best to suppress the urge as he activated his identification skill on it.
"…[Superior Analysis]."
